I would highly suggest studying the map to get an understanding of the terrain, where cities are, etc. These are very important as each city will have vendors that sell things. 1) Regarding secret underground mines, dungeons, etc; Are the people who built the map already aware of where these features are? Or has there been no exploration done to that effect yet?
2) How do doors work on claimed ground? and chests etc for that matter, are they unusable unless you are part of the claimed area's faction? Or could anyone wonder into my dread fortress on a whim if they happened to run across it?
Apologies for asking so much stuff, kind of a minecraft noob :p Ideally only things that have been worked on and are protected have been explored, but I'm sure some of us have done a bit of exploration just in traveling from place to place on things that need to be built. Any "advantage" that we have gained is ONLY through knowledge of the map, not through materials, structures, or pre-claimed land. Doors will not open on another faction's territory unless you are at war with them. Blocks cannot be placed or destroyed, but you are able to walk on their land. If you are at war, anything goes. If not, everything is protected. If you're at war, you can build/destroy anything on their land? Really?
No, you can not build/destroy in protected areas. What I think hes refering to is methods to break into protected areas. (IE: destroying a wall into a cavern if it extends beyond the protected zone or building a ramp up to their wall if its near the border.
At least thats how i thought it goes if they have enough points to hold the land. If there aren't enough points to hold the land I think it looses some of the protection. Not 100% sure

Good luck defending when I can just tunnel straight into your base and come up anywhere I please. Then I destroy as much as possible, and if I see you coming I just build blocks around me and tunnel away.
And if I'm in a "raider" faction, one that doesn't care about dieing because it doesn't hold almost any land? 10 of us all bum rushing y our base from different directions, you can't stop us all and the ones unchecked will destroy anything you built. >.>

When is it going live? 10 minutes or 1:10 ? or something else ?

But what i can make up from the site is that you need to control their territory before you can destroy structures.

no, read and think about this: you cannot build or destroy in a faction protected area. This applies to even enemies. How they would infiltrate your fort would be a hole somewhere (undiscovered underground cave, etc). They can claim your land if they killed you enough to lower your power then destroy your walls because that area is claimed by the enemy at that point.

1:10
Also just heard that power determines if land can be destroyed.

Well, we'll see I guess.

You could have looked this up on the faction mod website in the OP instead of asking in the thread if you wanted to be sure to get an accurate answer. You cannot destroy lands that are not yours. You CAN claim lands depending on the power level of the faction. Please refer yourself to the link in the OP to read more about this. I apologize for the confusion and will edit my post.

I had gone through that, that's why I was confused. But if you more in depth, you can see that the mods can change almost everything about the mod, including whether or not you can destroy at war.
And since they're giving us literally no information, I couldn't be sure wtf was going on.

I hate teamspeak, so I guess I pass on the 'extra commands' but I'll be on later today, gotta go apply for a job. xD

Is the stream ultra quiet for anyone?

This server should really use the Dynmap mod to display a realtime map, which also includes the ability to display live towny/faction data.

They didn't want to do that since that would give away info about secret projects
