i had a helluva time with the last boss from devil may cry...but that might have been cause i thought it was a ridiculously fun stage to play, and i just kept dying so i could do it again...i do remember it being a blast at any rate

dont remember much about emerald but i know i beat him first, just mimed KOTR constantly...
final fantasy tactics is hard in some spots for sure, but once you get Orlandu it's over =[ that guy raped waaayy too hard
hardest boss for me is omega weapon in FF8, didn't want to refine all my cards etc. =[
emerald was easy if u had final attack - phoenix so that when u got stomped for 9999 damage u just revived again. w/ summon knights of the round with mime made the fight too easy...the summon took so damn long to do though
final fantasy tactics, some of the early fights are RIDICULOUSLY hard when you're up against like 5 archers...the stage where u have to save mustadio and he's completely naked...took me so many tries..golog machien city maybe? it's been a while
once you get orlandu though, then level up beowulf and ramza, the game is simple...

actually on valkyrie profile i thought the hardest fight was vs the two dragon tyrants. the iseria queen would do ludicrous amounts of damage but she had no way to heal and with maxed guts and auto-item revive thingy she really couldn't kill you. the dragon tyrants were almost the same way but as soon as you were about to kill one, bam, they heal for like 1million hp. so frustrating

yeah phantasy star II was one of the most difficult rpgs because you would just never have a battle off. even the random encounters were stronger than bosses of many other games (ff8 comes to mind). when you get to the last dungeon it would be almost impossible (baring having bought and stolen maxed inventory of healing items) to fight your way to the final bosses and have anything left to actually fight the bosses. its one of the few rpgs where i get satisfaction from beating the final boss because its such a challenge

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you could have Selphie in your party and let him do the attack that drops everyone to 1 life. Then use that item that makes everyone invincible and try to get "The End" with selphie.
That was all there was to it. -_-;;
Btw, hardest for me was the secret boss at the top of the Chrysler building in Parasite Eve 1. Still havent beaten it.

After carefully reading through this thread, I have come to the conclusion that most of you suck at video games.

New game? :S err to fully complete it like getting all life plus all 50 scarabs in very hard you need around 25-30 hours of play, in a speed run you only get enough scarabs for the dabilahro, and you get such a tiny health bar, half of the monsters kill you in 2 hits, some in 1

Btw gamefaqs and strat guides are for pansies if you are playing an RPG for the first time. Is that a joke -_- I know people who can beat Event 51 with every character (besides a few, like Mr G&W, Bowser). On another note, I have like 50 pro SSBM matches on my computer from awhile ago when I was addicted to the game and learning techniques like wavedashing. Videos from CJack, Isai, Ken, Azen, ect.
Haha I was half kidding. I can even beat it with other chars but yeah it is kinda difficult =/
And the hardest game I've never played is probably Ikaruga. Hooooooooly shit. It's for gamecube, there was a thread on it with vids not too long ago.
This is how hard it is [ looks ] : It looks so hard that I'm afraid that I will waste my money and not be able to go past the first level. G_G
Here's the link from the thread: http://www.ikaruga.co.uk/download/an/ch5.php

In Final Fantasy Legends II for gameboy, the final boss was rediculous (I think they were over-compensation for the easy final boss in its prequel). Battles in that game usually went very fast (animations were 1 second long), and were over in 10-15 seconds. That boss took 30 minutes.
edit: the second run through the game took me less, but that is because I intentionally made my party extremely strong.

Final Fantasy Legends II made no sense. I remember getting really pissed because you had to buy your freaking magic, and it was expensive as all hell. And you can only use a certain ability a limited amount of times, so your guy knows how to punch a hundred times, but the next time he does he can only do it 99 times more -.-
Oh yea and then I started using the basic moves over and over again and all of a sudden they started doing like 200 damage per hit.

Ikaruga was for Dreamcast before it was for Gamecube. Now that's a mans game. Not a girly man's game like Final Fantasy.
There need to be more space shooter games. I miss ripple lasers.

hahahaha
i think theres too many RPGs being mentioned and too many recent games, although its hard to find a real "video game villain" thats not in an rpg except maybe some platformers

Real hard games are Old games, likes the gargoyles one or similar... they were all the same but near impossible.

Actually I just remembered the only game I haven't beaten yet that I own: Einhander on hard mode. I always get to the last boss, but then I don't have enough lives to beat him =/. Even with all the hidden weapons that you can collect like Juno and Flash it's still one helluva hard ass boss
