wouldnt really call it a production team but he does 'work' with other people. people who have been following athene since the old wow days know about the other people.
ever since he got youtube partnership, he has been making videos with more production value. they're no doubt making a decent amount of money from it

There was a AMA(Ask me anything) done by Athene and someone asked about this. According to Athene and his friend, Reese? - they have made something like 100k-150k total from Youtube + all the partnerships with at least Machinima. Who knows how true this claim is, but as long as they seem to get decent money out of this - he/they won't stop making any videos.

I have a deep respect for Athene, he has managed to make a living out of trolling. He seems to be a friendly and nice guy on top of that.

The main purpose of that movement is to get Athene more subscribers knowing that discussion of it will get linked to his main page. He wasn't happy with the amount of subscribers he was getting from wow so he moved to Poker and then Starcraft (where he advertised his eu rank 1 but it was just just kiwikaki playing under his name) and then recently Lol to recruit more subscribers from other fanbases.
i used to watch his old vids which were quite funny but now his page is run with 'youtube activists' begging for subscribers and together to the top. He convinces his together to the top followers that their videos are good but the big channels are blocking them from the front page. Just face it if your channel is bad its because your videos are bad. together to the top is for people who want to be part of a behind the keyboard revolution that promotes bad channels via mass subscribing.

I won't lie, I kind of fell for it and I began asking for people to check my channel out and what not, I got a fair share of subs, I won't lie, but in the end it just feels like some kind of gigantic sub4sub thing, nobody really watches your videos, they sub to you with hopes of you subbing them back.
I have seen some really horrendous channels that have gotten around 100 subs already (people doing let's plays of pokemon platinum with a camcorder for example :/ ) by just whoring their channel on the comments. I dunno, it just feels wrong and weird.

He´s joking and saying that he has no achievments is ridiculous. He was a great PvPer in wow and leveled like a maniac as soon as any expansion hit, he´s not the best gamer in the world but neither are any entertainers on youtube.

yes there are horrendous channels yes people are just subscribing and then never watching.
BUT there are also good and funny channels out there that you would have never seen without this.
would advice you to watch the videos he promotes on his channel page instead of looking in the comments
