TTTT - Togheter to the top is a newly created movement by Athene, created to help gamers help gamers.
Basicly, Athene has recognised that even though he's one of the big youtubers today, he would never have gotten there if he didnt start so long ago, nefore the competition was as rough as it is today. Therefore he is helping new youtubers to get more subs and viewers by spreading them on this channel and in his videos.

I think this concept is nice, but flawed. Well, personally I don't really care about other gamers, and don't really want my yt frontpage spammed by amateur songs and cod videos, so I'll pass, but gl to everyone who might participate.
I have no idea how this will turn out or anything. But if it helps the community, then fine by me. Good for Athene and good for everyone whos involved i guess.

I think so too. He might have been a massive troll before and who knows if he still is trolling quite a bit, but he seems to be helping the community.
ps. i think mods should keep this open for now(usually athene threads gets closed pretty quickly) and do something about the "he is just a troll" and other shitty/zero posters.
Well his top1 in EU failed even when Kiwi was playing that account. He is just trying to sell his image. But if he can do some good by doing it let him be.

It's lowest common denominator humor, none of his videos have ever been the least bit entertaining. Power to him for trying to help people out with expanding the community and all, but I wouldn't weep if he disappeared to never make a video again.
To the people who say he is just a troll. Hot_Bid is TL's biggest troll ever, and he helps the community out greatly. Just because Athene comes off as a pompous, arrogant jackass doesn't mean he can't do good. And he obviously cares about his viewers.

wouldnt really call it a production team but he does 'work' with other people. people who have been following athene since the old wow days know about the other people.
ever since he got youtube partnership, he has been making videos with more production value. they're no doubt making a decent amount of money from it

There was a AMA(Ask me anything) done by Athene and someone asked about this. According to Athene and his friend, Reese? - they have made something like 100k-150k total from Youtube + all the partnerships with at least Machinima. Who knows how true this claim is, but as long as they seem to get decent money out of this - he/they won't stop making any videos.

I won't lie, I kind of fell for it and I began asking for people to check my channel out and what not, I got a fair share of subs, I won't lie, but in the end it just feels like some kind of gigantic sub4sub thing, nobody really watches your videos, they sub to you with hopes of you subbing them back.
I have seen some really horrendous channels that have gotten around 100 subs already (people doing let's plays of pokemon platinum with a camcorder for example :/ ) by just whoring their channel on the comments. I dunno, it just feels wrong and weird.

yes there are horrendous channels yes people are just subscribing and then never watching. BUT there are also good and funny channels out there that you would have never seen without this.

He is really not doing anything to deserve the attention. I only watched one of his videos long time ago, and could stand it for 30seconds. It was from WoW where he organized an event where 500 gnomes or so jumped around in Stormwind.

Yes, I haved checked those out, they're really good (the longboard and the dubstep music video one are great). Assuming that he's not doing this for the money or for more attention, I think that this is a great idea but not very well executed.
I love athene, and i have ever since i watched one of his wow videos almost 5 years ago. His humor is my kind of humor. I hope that this project works out for him, along with all his other projects.

The problem with youtube right now is only directors can be on the front page. Most of the channels PAY MONEY to be ahead of more popular videos by default so new people cannot get featured.
TTTT is a way for people with good videos and low subscribers to get noticed.
these kinds of "programs" unfortunately never work, the only person who will benefit most from this is athene himself, and he knows it. This isn't some thing he made to help people, its some thing he started to get more publicity, and popularity.

You forgot giving money to Kiwikaki so he could impersonate him and try to get on the top of european ladder. Then he took the merit on youtube. He's just a clown.
Why can't people realize Athene is a character. It's as fictional as any like batman or superman. He is not a douche like that IRL. If you watched some of his blogs when he's out of character, you can tell he's like the nicest guy out there. The crew has already said that it was really weird seeing him act like that for the first time because it was just not him, BUT they got plenty of attention for their multiple projects like IPower and multiple petitions for whatever. They are activists IRL and they need to get their message out there by any means and Athene being a troll is a way like another to get attention. Although, up to recently, they haven't done much except trolling around, I think their project together to the top is fundamentally a nice way to promote obscure gaming channels out there but it's just wrong to promote shitty stuff for the sake of promoting them.

Athene is truly incredible. One of the best PvP players in wow. Then started to play poker and quickly ramped up to making a huge income from it. Then moved on to neuroscience. Almost a polymath.

This is kinda bullshit, but since you said "not the best gamer" I'll agree somewhat.
He claims to be sickest guy to ever play wow, promotes it, never claims otherwise, posts video's about it, and treat it as fact.

Hydra got annoyed at his egotism and sub-par play, left team with him shortly after migrating to Stormscale. Athene dropped down 30 places, then disbanded team, got "top of the top" players to play with him, and never got especially high. Ever, except for when he got some of the top paladins to play for him, then took credit.

In poker he would sit at 10c tables and shove every hand since he had 100% rakeback, he would do it for days, so no excuses. It's deliberate and calculated.

man athene did alot more than this in wow first of all First (and only i think) player to be ranked #1 in 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 bracket at the same time fastest leveling 1-60 70-80 80-85 also first ever lv 80 and first ever lv85 (dunno about lv70, i think its a french guy of millenium)
he also made many more records in other games
like it sc2 first ever 1v3 insane ai, some stuff like that he was also like 2 years ago on the Pokerstars online pro team he might still be idk he learned poker like in 1 month and made couple of thousands the next months. (with the help of kiwikaki :D )

I'm not gonna watch his videos because not only it would just be waste of time, but also he does not deserve the attention. He is just catering to adolescent gamers who would jump on anything labelled "the new cool shit", he is not interesting or funny at all.

Hes pretty sweet, his 'theory of everything" is like completely scientifically sound(though none of it is really new lolol) and his gags about being best at Sc2 and playing 24 rounds of poker simultaneously are just hilarious. I love these movements and that he is becoming more prominent in the gaming community.

I'd agree with what you've said, he's a character in most of his videos. Despite that being really obvious and loads of vids of him not being Athene, people still don't get it.
His character is made to get the reaction it does. If you hate the Athene character, that is fine, you are supposed to. If you can see Athene for what he is, and also look beyond the character a little, then you might start seeing something else.
Not sure about the TTTT, but whatever. If it helps even a few people get the viewers they deserve (emphasis on deserve), then it can't be a bad thing.

A true troll is someone that can invoke an emotional response in someone without the person knowing it was on purpose. I also beleive the word "troll" is SOOO overused these days.
