![]() At first it looked bad, I was AGAIN paired up with four freaking Russians (what's up with that, Russia is FAR away from the very west of Germany - are there not enough Europeans queueing?). BUT they were decent players, nice (dropped when it made sense etc.) and it worked out well, we won 16 : 7. Obviously we couldn't communicate since they were only talking in Russian but I just gave them the bomb T-side and in general waited for them to make a play and then just follow along. Ended up top-fragging with a 30-bomb anyways haha, 31 : 13 in the end.

Even whilst we were 12-4, somebody tried kicking a team member because he couldn't speak English.

Decided I'd try again today, and demolished the other team going 32-11. Valve must've taken pity on me and put me with the trackpad players. Even whilst we were 12-4, somebody tried kicking a team member because he couldn't speak English. Valve bumped peoples ranks so you might have easier opponents now at the same ranks.

So to measure/compare sensitivity you need to know the original hardware DPI AND the ingame sensitivity (windows sensitivity is assumed to be 6/11). That's why you see stuff like "400 DPI 1.3", "400 DPI 1.6" etc. on many stream FAQ sections. 1800 DPI 2.5 is extremely high in my opinion, I would suggest turning it down bit by bit and playing some aim maps/DM to get accustomed to it, then set it a bit lower again etc rinse and repeat until you feel that your aim is getting better. Of course, some people swear on high sensitivity so if that doesn't work for you then you can always go back.

No use listening to people who tell you you need 1 sens 400 DPI if you simply aren't comfortable and can't use it. I ended up at 800/2.5 before i couldn't take it and thats way high by most peoples standards.

I'd recommend not putting too much weight into the competitive MM as an indication of your personal skill. MM while a great way to get your feet wet for competitive play - pugs (pick up games) are a good way to waste time with friends, but I feel from a practice prospective would be better spent death-matching or playing with your team. If you've never played with or on a team for US players I would recommend ESEA for EU I would checkout the ESL. While I can't comment on EU as much since I live in US. This part will be the hardest for any new player looking to get into competitive counter-strike - you'll run into players who are not much better then your average open player, yet will insist their way is the only way to play counter-strike and anyone who doesn't see it that way is a "noob" or a "nobody" The number one thing to look for while searching for a team is: Make sure the people you are playing with you enjoy - it will make things _much_ easier. It helps if you have a practice schedule you all can agree to. Talk it out with the members before you join, its important to check that your goals align. You wouldn't want to join a team thats looking to be the next IEM champions when your only looking to advance the next tier of league. As a general rule of thumb for mouse sensitivity it comes down to what your most comfortable with. As long as you can still dodge flashes and are comfortable - I would stick with it as it will only get better the more it becomes muscle memory. I would also recommend: -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd for Launch options if that still works in go. If anyone needs help or has a question feel free to pm me

All I learn is spraying all the time and get shot from behind every 10-30 seconds. it should be teaching you crosshair placement at the very least, which is honestly one of the best things you can learn to rank up and it's the hardest thing to teach.
