One of the the problems I found with most students back when I was coaching besides for the typical "how do I improve my aim" question.
"I play very well in dm pugs scrims but when it comes match time its like a different player sits down"
The best advice I can give anyone in that situation is play like you practice.
Often times players would spend hours in practicing one way and then throw it all out the window when they felt the stakes were higher (tryout/team scrims/matches etc)
Like it was suddenly a different game and it was "time to get serious"
So make sure your playing consistently - communicate well in pugs, no music while dming, etc

Edit: Ended up losing with a personal score of 16-19, got a few one clicks on Shroud though so it's all good.

I once had a slightly positive score after playing against Tarik though I only learned who he was after the game when his global elite thing popped and I was like holy shit the Tarik! Not sure why MM thinks I'm that good considering how horrible I play most of the time.

After doing my content post for this week's patch; there is something that stands out being interesting...
A string was added to the weapon HUD UI named "Party Popper!". It appears that this is back-end work being developed for CS:GO's birthday next month with a big patch. Since it appears in the weapon HUD UI, maybe we get to shoot party poppers at chickens?!?! Hype?
The strings that was added:
"SFUI_WPNHUD_PartyPopper" "Party Popper!"

I occasionally run into a player that when caught in the open jumps and spins their hitbox around and for whatever reason I seem to have a hard time hitting them
is it just me being distracted by their jumping animation or does it actually make them harder to hit?

They're more difficult to hit because it's something you're not used to. It's essentially a gimmick against inexperienced players as good players will just rape you in the air since you're giving them free time for aiming and shooting.

Jump and crouch hitboxes are known to not be synched with the model though, making them harder/impossible to hit. Many people complain about this and there are lots of testing videos on reddit and such.

When I receive dmg and didn't expect it (from behind), I jump, turn, crouch and shoot.
The enemy catching me from behind and not killing me shows that he isn't the best (or I would be dead). So I try to throw him off more by the jump/crouch.

DAT vs ESG (ex SK) had some seriously bad mannered shit going on, like really whine and qq during the match so you can tilt yourself even more?

Anyone else getting this bug? I queue for a match and then get one but it never gives me the accept button, so I just get kicked out of queue.

dat ESG play on T-side on Train. Especially that one round where they had A after faking B and then went back to B in the last seconds, that were some amazing mindgames. :D
