About the bets there are lots of upsets all the time and your best way to make huge profit would be to bet on underdogs in close matches (sometimes fan favorites are hugely favored in odds when they aren't that much more likely to win).
And for ESEA, yeah I heard about the whole bitcoin mining things and there seem to be other stuff, but as far as I know they're the only service that allows you to pug on 128 tick servers with a decent service, no?

Buy a few skins and bet on csgolounge.com for ez money.

Is there any way to figure out who should generally win each match other than following the scene for a while?

vote for NiP

they have an INSANE record reaching the semis or finals in ALL the tournements they went to, dunno if that is still true but was atleast a half a year ago.
The harder it becomes, the more you should focus on the basics.

Top four in 30 consecutive LAN tournaments. Broke the streak on last one (ESEA I think) with 5th-6th place.

This is pretty much how I bet:

1. Bet on Swedish teams
- except when they are playing vs VP or Titan
- always bet on NiP

2. Bet on VP and Titan
- always VP over Titan

3. Bet on iBP vs any NA team
- unless odds are 80:20 for iBP, then do not bet

4. Don't bet on random teams you don't know

5. Bet high if the odds are nearly 1:1

6. Bet low if odds are worse than 60:40 (on either team)

7. Don't bet on anything 90:10 (on either team)

8. Na'Vi is over-rated.

As a guy who often plays with 3 or 4 stacks of French Canadian dudes like myself, we're sorry .
Lots of time people don't actually listen to anything we say anyway because we're the brazilians of the north... bad rep. Also I believe our banter can get obnoxious.

Frankly though as much as stacks can be selfish, people who single queue are dicks. When I single queue I'm kinda just doing my own thing.

Added you on my DMG smurf. Can't play with friends on my LEM main cause they get destroyed so I play this.

Also if you want to see an interesting clip of me being incredibly smart with my 4stack (only watch the first 35 secs):

In my experience with the dota 2 equivalent site that tended to work out not so great some of the time with upsets you wouldn't expect from just looking at the odds (certain teams being better against others but not as good in general, etc). And when it's like 60:40 that doesn't necessarily give me a lot of confidence for the 60 team.

Thanks for the advice though guys, NiP sounds like a plan lol.

As finals go, teams playing on home turf really makes a lot of difference (vp katowice, navi kiev, col/ibp esea, etc)

It does, and I did somewhat say it jokingly. Although that only partially explains the fnatic/NiP dreamhack major final

If you're talking about the last dreamhack one for the swedish championship, if I remember correctly NiP were tired as fuck and obviously didn't play their best game, and the fnatic guys seemed really pumped on the opposite. I wasn't disagreeing with you by the way, just adding to it, as indeed betting blindly on NiP in lan finals wouldn't be a good idea seeing how a crowd cheering for you can make a world of difference, as adrenaline and motivation can be the difference between you hitting your shots faster than your opponent or not.

I don't value skins much. Here's my amazing betting strategy. I don't bet.

Anyways djzapz, it just sounds like just bcause you are a dick when you solo, and in a premade of 3/4, you go around pretending everybody else is a dick.

Yeah and you make up little stories in your head and then they become your personal truth.

When I solo I'm not really a dick, I just play the game, am nice with people when they're nice to me, but since they don't listen when I try to call strats or when I try to sync myself with another player to push a crossfire or whatever, I've long stopped trying to do that. I myself do listen to the strats anyone calls, pretty much every time. In fact short of my occasional poor performance, I'm one of the most pleasant solo players. I listen, I rarely lurk, I talk when needed and I don't say any BS after I'm dead...

As for my 4-stack or whatever, we talk among ourselves except a few calls most of the time, unless the 5th player shows some initiative. I'd say 60-70% of the time he either doesn't have a mic, has a really crappy mic so nobody understands him, doesn't talk or doesn't say anything of importance. So the only things we share with him are things like "two long" or "awp in pit" and things like this. Meanwhile we're setting up crossfires and flash pushes.

I definitely don't pretend that "everyone" who solo queues is a dick. I know that most (not all) of them are. Because I play with them. And we used to try really hard to get them to collaborate with us, for tens of games. But we eventually gave up, and now we talk to them when they show that they'll listen.

Yesterday I played 2 games with my 4stack and 1 game in a 3stack after that. First game on nuke: our fifth goes afk for the first round, comes back buys a m4a1-s on 3rd round after we've lost the first two. Guy never talks, never saves, but always dies so he ends up with mag7's and such. He generally held his spot but sometimes randomly went ramp instead of holding upper, but he did that after spending 5 seconds in spawn and upper would fall.

Second game, the guy is legit Sylvester Stallone, perhaps a better shot than any of us, pushes mid and banana or apartments EVERY SINGLE ROUND, generally though not always kills one or 2 guys. Later in the game they started expecting him and picking him off and us too when we followed him, hoping we'd manage to keep him from dying alone. We tried to tell him to just hold his spot, but he wouldn't hear it. We lost, he had like the 2nd best score and blamed us for not pushing with him on CT side on every round. He would yell in his mic constantly which was funny at first but after some 25+ rounds it was getting annoying.

Third game, it's three of us with two of them. One guy obviously doesn't know how to play and lurks the entire game and he talks but ignore any info we give him. In a 2v2 we tell him where the 2 last guys are but he keeps looking the wrong way and insists that he heard us and he understands. He sits around big garage as CT while the T's are going to plant lower while we're 4v3. He lets us 3v3 them, we lose, and he's still watching outside from big garage and peeking secret randomly. His friend, who only ever used his mic to laugh at his friend, thought it was amusing and didn't care to tell his friend how to play. But the kid wasn't bad enough not to understand the principle of the game, he was just trolling.

So yeah I'm not too bad.

If the odds are more skewed than that then you don't really win anything for betting on them anyway.
