Ok i'll try to watch that tonight since there's no GoT this week.
- You could also try the full rush and when the guy in front of you jump (your teamates), all of you must jump too. - The : "Only one person can buy weapons and give" (no nads/kev of course). - The : "Always have a decoy. Need to throw the decoy AT the enemy (i mean aim him) before you can take your weapon out" - The : "Full nads buy. You must throw all your nades before you have the right to shoot".
Thanks for the previous tips. I already have my radar map set up the way I like it, stumbled across that video and Hatton's YT channel before (zoom ~4.0 so I see 95% of the map at all times). I can't disable radar rotation though, that screws with my brain haha. I have problems even determining which player I am if I'm not in the center! I also have radar colors on etc. but all that doesn't replace actual spotting or at least minimal communication. I guess I'll just spend 2-3 weeks spamming games until I get my 10 wins together and actually get ranked (silver 4 here I come).
Is there any reason they made the casual mode 10v10 instead of 5v5? It's okay for me personally because I just play competitive instead but I really, really don't think the game works with 10v10 at all. There's obviously zero strategy because people are just EVERYWHERE and I personally have no fun in that entire game mode as a result. It's just luck for the most part it seems. Some people just wait out the first minute or two and start playing when the numbers of players in the round have thinned out a bit. Even if someone has better aim, since it's so crowded you can still randomly get flanked or 4v1 or something and not be able to do anything. If they had made a couple dedicated maps for it that are larger it would be better. But like this, it's really a wasted opportunity and kinda sucks that there's no real way to quick join a competitive-like game without ranking going on.
Yeah defiantly isn't a replacement and I agree about the casual. I was in the same boat when I started now I'm around 200 wins, just gotta try to stay positive and have fun even when losing badly or teammates troll. Take a week break if you start getting frustrated. The EU servers defiantly seem more toxic than US though.
On the other hand, what do I do with my silver 1 account? I already tried ninja defusing (harder than it looks!). I could try using pistols only and see where that gets me.
Another, much more serious issue: every time I play on community deathmatch servers, fun maps etc. I get kicked after 20-30 mins and it tells me that an issue with my computer is blocking VAC access. After that, I can't do anything, can't join any games at all. Yesterday I managed to (temporarily) fix it by deleting the sound subfolder, restarting Steam several times, letting steam revalidate files etc. But this takes a long time and apparently this still keeps happening.
Any ideas? Am I the only person this keeps happening to?

Thanks, that seems to have done the job. That and deleting my csgo/sound folder, revalidating and restarting PC. Hopefully the DEP enable fixed the issue for good.
Quick strat question: some guy in competitive called me out as noob because I threw a smoke from top of mid down to end of mid/T stairs as CT right when we got there. That person called everybody a noob at some point but I'm wondering if he's just full of shit or if there's a point to the accusation. My logic as CT is to always use smokes as blockers as much as possible. Another example would be on Dust2: if I go defend B I always throw a smoke into the tunnel/entrance area so that they're sitting ducks if they want to B rush. Is there something I'm overseeing strat-wise or is my playing fine and he was just an idiot?

I'm assuming you are talking about Inferno. Maybe he wanted to pick mid with an awp? Personally I dont think there's anything wrong with smoking bottom of mid, although I'd say it's normally better to hold on to the smoke so you can smoke boiler or mid closer to ct side. The smoke on bottom mid doesn't acomplish too much, except if you actually peek down mid. The downside is that you are open for people coming mid through second mid. Nevertheless you probably played with some dickhead so I wouldn't care too much.
Haha okay cool. Can't believe I forgot to say that I mean Inferno! We were both playing M4s and peeking down mid. I see how you might argue it's better to save it, then again everybody should buy smokes and then there's surely enough for all situations - especially at silver 4/gold nova 1 rank, which I seem to be ranked at atm. With the AWP - isn't it still an excellent position to AWP down mid WITH smoke down there. It's not like they can get from cover to cover with it and it just makes it even easier to snipe people popping out of the smoke.
And yeah, I never take CS chat stuff personally, I was just really wondering if there was a problem with what I was doing strat-wise.
Played 3 more competitive matches just now, MUCH better experience this time. Got 3 wins with 3 good and very communicative teams. Was a lot of fun. I guess it's just really volatile and random while I'm unranked! At 5 wins now, 5 more needed!
Ofcourse its all about preference, if he wanted to peek down the stairs the smoke will hinder him, personally I almost never peek down the stairs except if I know i'm faster/better than the other team. Afterall it's a dangerous, risky and kind of unessecary spot to pick. .
So you wouldn't peek mid at all on Inferno and instead pull back one spot to arch/quad corners as CT? I haven't seen that many pro games on Inferno yet so I'm not really sure.
Even holding the corners isn't mandatory, When I used to be competitive in Source, my team and I used to have 1 on site, 1 in pit and 1 holding arch from either library or the arch. Crossfiring the corners seems to be most used position nowadays. The problem with holding the corners, is that it's really easy to prefire those spots.
The problem with a game like Counterstrike is that theorycrafting doesn't lead anywhere. If you just keep playing you'll eventually notice what works best for you. If you can peek down mid and kill the enemy you should keep doing it. Dieing while you are peeking down mid as ct, is one of the easiest ways to give the T's a huge advantage though.
If someone peeks mid against me on Inferno on ct without an awp/smoke/flash, they will likely eat a bullet to the head. Unless there's 5 of them throwing nades at me. I always feel there is an advantage to a T peek mid over CT on Inferno. Have always been more comfortable shooting "uphill" than "downhill" on all maps (ramp on nuke, mid to B on d2).
What are the steps/software needed to obtaining a replay of a game, grabbing a cut of it and posting it to youtube?
Cool, got it! I'm sure plenty of CT teammates will still run to mid and potentially get killed there but I'll play it from a pulled back position from now on.
I think the standard MM hold for A Inferno would be one apts, one porch/truck/boiler and one arch. At lower levels, I feel this approach is flawed because you depend on the guy opposite of you if you are playing mid (either arch or porch). Having one play back arch, one site and one pit would leave boiler slightly open but makes A easier to hold unless the guy at arch gets wrecked.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate this game but yet I still play it?
I am part of the toxic community. If someone blames me for something stupid (flashing teammate when I didn't even throw a flash or blaming me for baiting), I throw the game.

That's how you peek mid inferno :
Remember to laugh your ass off if you told your mates you were going to buy deagle to get a kill mid at the start of the round. You can also play Eye of the tiger or similar stuff in the background to help. On a more serious note peeking the stairs is dangerous, as you'll often get HEs or AK/AWP bullet in the face while doing so. As someone said, try to find some spots where you feel comfortable, but don't take the same one on each round or you'll just get pre-shot all the time. Also I think getting infos is really important, so hiding in very remote (?) positions isn't that good either. So ideally you should always be forward enough to get infos and know if someone from the other BP should come to help, while not being too exposed and having other spots to fall back to. Taking Inferno's mid as an example, I like to peek mid just enough to see the second mid corner and the mid itself while being hidden from stairs, then fall back to long's corner with a flash, then to the arch, then to the library etc.. Maybe at higher levels you just get insta gibbed on the first peek, but I guess if you don't that's a good thing to do rather than standing there trying to get a kill.
I prefer doing 1 apts, 2 arch. A guy at truck or porch is fucked if Ts push right, but 2 guys at arch can fall back to relatively safe positions (and you can also crossfire close/corner). Smoking T stairs also doesn't let you see if they are running up Banana.
