After the games I can see that it's putting me with Silver Elites, I always carry my team (at least I'm the top spot on the leaderboard, usually by far), I use my mic to spot and give callouts etc. It's not easy when nobody else ever talks or understands the basics of the game (people don't guard the bomb when it's down as CTs, people don't rotate, some people literally camp at T spawn with AWP etc). I realize how common it is for people to just blame EVERYTHING on their teammates and I'm not trying to say that I'm like ten leagues better but at the moment I really objectively think I'm getting screwed by teammates. Guess I just gotta get lucky and get put into better teams.
Playing on EU and always having two-three people incapable of speaking/understanding a word of English and either leaving or griefing after 5 mins doesn't exactly help either.
Of course, I could just play with arranged teams more and get ranked that way...
TLDR: The 10 wins to get placed system seems pretty tricky to achieve as a noob that's slightly better than most silver players.
Its not that hard, since your score also has an effect on your MMR and how you get ranked, especially in the placement matchs. Say you play with a friend who is always bottom-fragging and you are always top-fragging. You do all your placement matchs together. Well, chances are that your friend will get a lower rank than you, and most likely more than one. Same when you are already ranked for rank promotions and stuff, score does matter. So in the end, even if you lose, you wont lose much if you do well, and your wins will get you a lot of MMR points and you will be matched with / against better players.
May I have your source? Was always curious about this.

Experience :D I think I also read that many times, but when I queued up with a friend way better than me, but that had no played cs for a long time, he got ranked around my rank at DMG and then was promoted all the way to LEM and supreme while I stayed at DMG, queuing up with him, because I was always bottom-fragging in the games he was dragging me into (LEM+), while he was always top-fragging by a lot.

Not having played any other fps before CS:GO helps , but I'm only in Silver 4. Silver 1 is probably a whole 'nother beast.
Oh man been top fragging like all week, got MGE back, lost it next day, got it back again finally the same day. Got it back after playing versus mr fawkes who's very good with pistols.
Below silver 3 starts the area of people that struggle to even hit you, from any distance, with any gun. It is quite an experience to ever play them, or better, watch them play.

Pickups - can buy armor and nades, must drop starting pistol, can only use items picked up
Haven't won yet, but the games are loads of fun
Oh God i need to watch that ! (what's the name of the VOD on your twitch ?)
Few ideas :
- go full Nova (or any shotgun). - Full negev when you have the money. (or full M249, which is the shittiest weapon in the game i feal) - You all stay at spawn but one. When he dies, another one can leave the spot. - If you get hit, type kill in console. - I don't know if "VIP mode" is what i think, but you could have one guy to protect. If he dies, you all type kill (but i think that's whay you meant). - You are only allowed to full until the clip is empty when you fire at someone. - Everytime you get a kill you have to throw your weapon (So it's. => 0kill => Rifle, 1kill=>Pistol,2kill=>Knife)
The LMGs aren't bad at all, they just are way too expensive to be viable in a close game, kind of like the auto sniper. I guess they also are very heavy and you're slow with it? I was surprised to play with random weapons in DM and headshot people from the other side of d2 long A with negev :< Also I hate SMGs more and more, it really feels so bad to get killed by a random fucker running at you and lucking an instant double headshot from afar while randomly spraying... I wish they nerfed their damage from a distance like they did with the deagle, so that they would only be viable at close range to rush or stop rushes..

Oh yeah we did some of these. Nova OP. We did xm1014s though, with added difficulty: quickswitch between every shot, and if you had to reload, you had to go all the way, no stopping to shoot.
We did gladiator a few times with xm1014+armor. Even then I got a 4k or ace and bomb exploded (we were T side). VIP mode we did was if VIP dies, we all disconnect and forfeit. This resulted in the VIP trying very hard to die. He ran with his knife out directly at a guy with a P90. This guy, being silver, sprayed down the VIP, but by "sprayed down" I mean crouched and missed every single shot. The VIP jumped on his head and kept going.
Our negev buys were also mixed with full clip: once you pop you just can't stop. We also did jump while enemy is on screen with both scouts and negevs. Scouts OP.
