For the pistol round, assuming that you aim for the head, either stick with Glock/P2000 or buy the Elites. Nothing else is an improvement against unarmoured targets.
The FiveSeven is the best eco pistol now, but it's questionable whether that or the P250 are worth the money. Given that headshot + bodyshot is a lot easier than two headshots, I'd say they probably are. The Tec9 is awful unless you can't aim.
no one can buy helmet in the pistol round, headshots will kill in one shot with any pistol right? most ppl at high level always goes for headshots, i think it's fine, but i do like more choices, especially make deagle better.

Most pistol rounds don't end in 5 shots. There's a reason for that. They almost always turn into a shootout. Definitely my favorite rounds of the entire game. Each side might get one or two kills initially and then the bullet storm starts. That's where the glock outshines the CT pistol by a mile.
it is true, it's about positioning, ct has position advantage, but they can't kill all 5 before they have to reload, i would think T can overpower a bombsite given evenly skilled players and plant the bomb and it will turn into T's favor from that point on.

Glock has way better falloff damage than any of the CT options.
I'd be fine with the glock's current state if defusal kits were 200$ again.
Aside from that, I feel its reasonably fair. It does make fast rushes on pistol round very effective for T's, but aside from that I think its balanced. People just need to realize the potential of the p2000. It's has a very accurate single shot.

Yeah, the P2000 is slightly more accurate than the Glock at any fire rate, although the recoil makes it inferior for pure spamming. Essentially it's a better headshot gun up to ~1700 range.
What really made the Glock overpowered in the 23/1 patch was burst mode, but that got nerfed so hard in the last patch that I think spamming is now better in almost all situations. It's still a bit better than the P2000 overall, but the natural CT imbalance may swing it.
I'm pretty sure Valve are using game statistics for balancing, but it bothers me that the starting point makes no sense: The Glock has higher damage per shot but much lower recoil. The logical thing would be to give the Glock a generally higher accurate fire rate (reduced InaccuracyFire), lower damage and headshot range and maybe slightly lower base accuracy.
What's also interesting to me is that people were saying that the glock was really imbalanced (I've been playing very little lately) but it felt great to me, like it was in 1.6. I never really thought the glock was broken, I just thought every other gun just felt bad.
Like, if they kept the glock's burst in that current state and gave us back the USP ((and 200$ kits!!)), it would basically be how it was in 1.6.

The glock was kinda weak in 1.6. It definitely wasn't as good as the USP or Deagle.

The difference being armor + glock vs usp/kit/nades. Should've emphasized that.
