Well.. as you learn the game... there's something called crosshair placement. A lot of people can aim but, not many people actually do this... it actually improves your gameplay.

Learn distances and heights. See how people peek (or if they even do).

Mm, if you really get into cs, you're gonna be watching lots of pros/better players play and you could learn from that. The crosshair is generally where the enemy might be... (obviously ) but it should be head level... I see lots of people aiming at the general direction/chest/legs, but not giving it much thought.. if you make it a point to aim at head level, it's much easier to get a headshot. Pre-aim is really important.
If you're already aiming at where the head should be when the guy comes around the corner... it's a lot easier to headshot than if you were aiming at the chest.
And yeah, where to place the crosshair is just the matter of learning the map.

so i got myself an esea 1 month pass and i wondered if people use voice communication there for PUGs? ingame voice or teamspeak/mumble/whatever? and does anyone know of some overviews with english spot names for the standard maps? i mostly know the german ones...
|
People usually use the in-game unless they're playing with a friend. Then they would use a vent/mumble server.
Uh... and I call all the spots by 1.6 names... people make up new ones and/or mix cs 1.6 and cs:s spots together... so there's a lot of names out there.

The ESEA client has several public servers for use by anyone, but... no one really uses those in the GO pugs I've played. They will either not talk at all, talk in-game, or lastly you should be playing with friends in your own mumble. ^^
Also, as a tip, don't run Skype while playing ESEA it will give you fade to black no matter what

Played my first online game two days ago. I'm terrible, but got to clutch the deciding round, fearlessly storming the bomb site as last standing ct, somehow managing to kill the three terrorists, and defusing the bomb for the win :D

I feel P250 was nerfed? or is it? (I don't read patches for CS:GO)

(I don't read patches for CS:GO) In the latest patch, the P250's RangeModifier was nerfed, so headshot range is reduced to 257 from 443 and head+chest shot range is reduced from 1626 to 943. Glock burst mode got a recoil nerf so it now has a strong upward pattern, and the Deagle got a RangeModifier buff so it's now marginally less useless.
If you haven't played for a bit, most of the pistols had an effective fire rate nerf in the 23/1 patch. They're much less accurate for a while after firing.

What rank are you? Lets play sometimes Oh, certainly bottom of the barrel as I've only played one online match. Doubt I'm going to get much higher either as I don't really have time to start playing the game seriously (I've mostly been killing bots to kill some spare time), and my computer only barely runs the game.

I'm sad with the P250 nerf, this gun used to be so awesome, maybe they should have just increase the price of the weapon :/ What's your opinion on the Deagle ? I just hate the recoil of that weapon. I never ever hit anything past the first bullet.

I actually have no idea which pistol I should use, after this patch.

It's technically firing inaccuracy rather than recoil. They're independent effects in CSGO. The recoil looks big but only lasts for about 0.3 seconds, while the firing inaccuracy is so high that the optimum time to fire the second shot is about 1.4 seconds. After the first shot, it's about 3x worse than the pre-23/1 version, which wasn't exactly an eco round monster.
Logically the way to use it is to take one headshot, run away and repeat. I'm guessing that whoever "balanced" it thought that would be effective. I don't think it is, because you're trading HP and territory for each shot.
The jump/land/move inaccuracy values are all daft too.
