It was really frustrating, since I have probably ~500 played hours of 1.6 in my life (I know that's not that much for people who really loved 1.6, but I think it's more than I played SC2, for example). So then I noticed the options menu not only had mouse acceleration, but had it enabled by default. lol. Yup I agree the mouse acceleration on by default surprised to say the least, and I agree the models are not great, but the game is really fun to play, played 10 hours so far, having a lot of fun

What do you think about this idea: Matchmaking which takes a couple of ideas from DotA 2: The game starts as a 5vs5, and if somebody leaves he gets a "can't queue in to matchmaking" penalty, lasting, for example, 2 days. I'm unsure about the number of the rounds, but it would be set up so one matchmaking game lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, so you can expect no leavers in most matches. If you have to quit: DotA 2 has no "you can't play" penalty, but it puts you in a queue with other leavers / reported players, while CS:GO has community servers, so I think a "can't play" penalty is more justified. I propose a two day matchmaking ban for people who quit a game. ELO (or whatever the system is) points are rewarded only for finished matches (one sided matches will be over fast anyway). (this is only a idea, a 1.0 version of it ![]() Possible problems: Somebody disconnected one round before the end of the match and I got no ELO points! I'm pi$$ed off! - this could be fixed with tweaking the system, IF it is a problem that often happens I constantly get matched with 4 baddies that lower my ELO! The system sucks! - this is probably just your perception. You notice bad players more often in your team then you notice them when you put a bullet in their head.

You notice bad players more often in your team then you notice them when you put a bullet in their head. 2 Days is way too harsh, IF there is going to be a timed penalty id say 5-30 minutes would be adequate. However, i think that losing a good chunk of elo would be a better route.I for one have a connection with a mid of its own which likes to restart itself, and i would be quite upset if i got banned for 2 days. If someone disconnects, im pretty sure you would still get ELO, not them. Teammates will be teammates, just do your best to communicate and help them out. Do you best not to rage and it'll be fine. Like you said, if you get baddies chances are there are baddies on the other end as well. Either that or you are delusional and you are the baddie. Im more wondering how elo is going to work when i matchmake with say 2 other friends as opposed to 5. I would be pretty upset if i had a full team of randoms and got stomped by a set of 3 and 2 friends who play with each other a lot and lose the same elo i would otherwise, that just wouldn't be fair. If you have a Gigabyte motherboard, they're is an easy idiot-proof way to update your BIOS. I just did this myself and it finally works. Read the second post. Fortunately Gigabyte Motherboard have this feature called TouchBIOS which is just a little program that updates your BIOS for you. EDIT: So I just finished testing a little Deathmatch. First thoughts: I don't like the lack of silencers. I don't know what this zeus thing is or what it exactly does but it seemed as if it kills with one shot on close distance ( kinda like a second knife.) The M4 isn't impressing me. I like the AK47 waaaayyy more The blur, the first moment you zoom in, is annoying.... The sounds sound a little bit to "metalic" for my taste. The goddamn CT's are wearing these hats ![]()

(starcraft im looking at you) ELO is a skill rating. You do not suddenly become less skilled at CS after leaving a game. Your idea makes zero sense.

People will certainly care if their elo drops a lot for leaving. I constantly get matched with 4 baddies that lower my ELO! The system sucks! - this is probably just your perception. (starcraft im looking at you) ELO is a skill rating. You do not suddenly become less skilled at CS after leaving a game. Your idea makes zero sense. It makes perfect sense, actually. People who want to do well with most certainly care about their elo. And if it gets dropped drastically for leaving, they wont leave if they dont want to get matched with baddies. And with your logic, just because someone has a higher elo than you they are automatically better than you. That is obviously not true. Elo is a good indication of skill, but it is far from absolute.

If the ladders remain the same (total stars, total wins, KDR, etc) then you are effectively rewarding the leaver by lowering their ELO. Your idea would only make sense if our ELO was visible and shown as a number or letter (not stupid military rank) and the ladder was based on it. I was under the impression it was going to be very similar to LoL elo, if not then i take back what i said. But if i it determines opponents/teammates i stand by it.

There's nothing you can do about it, so just leave it be. Certain games give you all the deaths with none of the kills (gears of war 3) when you leave but even that doesn't stop people. You just gotta deal with it and hope your next team is better.

I noticed that after the game loads if I hit the continue button in the 5 second window the issue doesn't occur but if I just wait out the time then I can't click on the game and join a team so i'm forced to restart the game.
