Wipe is not possible , its confirmed 100% , and not only character wipe , stash wipe etc.. , everything But i onther hand , there will be no wipe , after open beta will end , and game will be officialy out.
But like you write.. , there is no reason to waste time now and play , with wipe incomming . So bb PoE , see ya in new year
The game is planned to be suported for about decade, and will have like 8 or more acts in the end.
Actually i started to play again, because i got few ideas i need to test so much. Month is a lot of time. I watched Kripparian play and it made me play too instantly.

I only said possible because most people are doubting the open beta anyways :p so it might not happen.

Thanks mate. I am just following it a bit closer than most since I am keeping the recipe list somewhat updated on the beta forum. I dont know how much the extra control would do. This is a thread anyway. The OP could use a mention of newer patches, PvP, race-events, a link to the announcement forum and the announced open beta release date, but apart from that, it is still pretty accurate.
Argh the beta keys come out so slowly! Wondering if anyone has a spare one, although I guess it doesn't matter too much since the open beta's almost out I think.

Open beta's nearly out, so here's my last key(s), there's not really any point saving them now.

I think one of those should be used already, but it's still there so I'm not sure.

And I was right for the first part. I guess I will try the game once it goes to open beta next year.
I am still really unhappy about the FFA loot. I can think of 5 different reasons why it sucks and not a single reason why it is good beyond "it reminds me of D2 and FFA loot is how D2 worked" - which btw, sucked because you couldn't get anything in D2 unless you run a pickit hack.
Really sucks I changed my mind how I wanted to build my character since I'm going to start playing again and wasted the last passive skill tree reset, nbd with OB coming though.

Have fun with it! I will be playing again in open beta.
EDIT: There is a loot system that allocates some items to a specific player for a few seconds. You need to be fast, but not superfast for your items.
How long is the grace peroid?
like 3 seconds, I really dont like the FFA loot...
So OB is coming out 23 Jan. 2013 with act 3 in it !
That's pretty much the same as no grace period at all lol.
*builds tanky melee character, gets ALL the loots*
Unless it changed from the last time I played, it's a scaling system based on how far away you are from the mob when it dies. There's plenty of time to grab an item if you're actually paying attention.
i hate the FFA loot system too. it is too unconvenient after 200 hours of diablo 3. if i had never played d3, it would be totally acceptable though. ffa loot makes me want to play alone instead of joining parties.

That's not the only problem.
1. Balance. Melee, tanky characters can easily get loots because they are closer to the monsters when they die and they can ignore monsters to pick up loots; you can't dive into a whole bunch of monsters to get loots as a ranged, squishy character. 2. Anti-cooperative play. The party is fighting monsters in a difficult area, all of a sudden a good loot dropped.... and everyone stopped fighting to go after the loot. 3. Distraction. Instead of playing the game and slaying monsters, everyone's staring at the screen without blinking just in case something valuable dropped. 4. Hacking. We all know this from D2/WoW.
My understanding is that PoE is supposed to be this super hardcore ARPG that separates itself from the baby level ones (e.g. Torchlight, D3). It has a very complicated skill system, a very complicated economy, and cut-throat FFA loots. I feel that it's just way too complicated for an ARPG game, which frankly should be about mindless fun.

I don't think the developers set out to make the most complicated economy or skill system. They merely appear that way when you compare them to Torchlight or D3.

It's not? Then what is the purpose of designing so many different currency items except making the game arbitrarily deeper?
