One of my favorites was savage submerged creature pack appearing and then seeing death notification just about instantly. I geared defensively because of beyond and it's still not enough. This isn't even touching on boss crits...which can one shot you even if you do everything right. This sort of thing makes it feel like I should have bucked up and played SRS or PA instead. I started with a pure fireball caster in mind with massive ES but that just felt like total shit because ES + Mana feels really clunky without tens of exalts worth of equip. Scrapped it and went with a BM Scion instead and it feels immediately less futile. | ||

As far as I know that's one of the very few ways to survive end game really well. I really don't like running marauder and I don't want to have to concentrate on endurance changes. It feels almost mandatory.... Along with fortify. Thing about SRS is that the skulls do the tanking. It's like a totem build in that you can afford to sacrifice some defense because you're just not the primary focus of the enemy mobs. You just want to avoid being hit at all even so. Freeze wrecks you as do stuns because it's all based off of life and who cares about how much ES you have... Just be aware that you want a thawing flask up at all times and stun recovery on your gear... Or eye of chayula. SRS is very safe in general. You'll be amazed at how fast 10k ES melts to physical damage though. | ||

I do run fortify and determination, with high armor rating. I agree it feels a bit absurd but it seems that the alternative is being a glass cannon and killing them before they kill you. | ||
