I think we all know the real finals are tomorrow now. I think Madrid is definitely the best remaining team and should be able to take it tomorrow. The skill difference isn't that huge though and they are starting from behind, so it's going to be tough. I think if they make it through, it will be a very one-sided, disappointing "final" versus Chelsea.
I was so worried about missing the finals because I was moving that day, but now I guess it won't be like I'm missing much.
I'm still very excited for the game tomorrow. I wanna see La Liga clench both Champions and Europa. Vamos guys, crush those Portuguese/German/English!
I second this, although one might argue that if you can't score; you're not accomplishing the primary goals of the game, thus do not deserve to advance. Inofficially though, I think it's hard to argue that Chelsea is a straight-up better team than Barcelona. Even though the defensive feat of their second half tonight is commendable, the ultra-turtle style in which they do it is uninspiring and boring to watch. Of course it's strategical, but I'd much rather see the magic that Barca produces when they're going offensive than when Chelsea are doing the same. After all, I think it's pretty obvious that agressive football has a million times higher entertainment value than defensive football.
As far as tomorrow goes, whoever wins will have a way easier time in the finals than they will in the semis. My gut tells me Real will come out on top ever so slightly, but I'll be cheering for Bayern. Regardless, I wouldn't have called Chelsea to take out either team in a potential finals before today's games, but with all the players prohibited from playing now, I can't see it happening. Sure, one might argue that the same was said before their games against Barca, but coming into the second leg with a 1-0 lead, I wasn't all that surprised in the end. In a single-series finals, with their current conditions, I can't see Chelsea taking the cup this time either. Sorry all Brits.
Now gogo Bayern, I believe in you
Oh certainly no one is going to argue that Chelsea is a better team than Barcelona. Barcelona clearly have superior passers and superior technique at nearly every position. However, at the end of the day, Barcelona were unlucky over the two legs, but you can't say that Chelsea don't deserve to advance. They limited the chances created by Barcelona (there weren't many good chances) whereas Chelsea capitalized on their opportunities. Chelsea were definitely lucky, but they certainly deserved to win - I think the only time where the 'deserved' argument should come into play is when issues of refereeing are called in question.
As per the 'boring' style of play - teams only play in such a manner against Barcelona because of their technique. You only ever really see that turtle style in games like these - which can be characterized as a nice relief from Barcelona cutting everyone else apart.
Sky Sports reported that Terry claimed Sanchez had 'checked his run' which caused the Chelsea captain to shift his weight onto his back foot, which in turn resulted in the defender's knee being raised into the Barcelona forward's back.
what
Yeah that was reported by the touchline commentator, as soon as he went off. Hell probably have to retract that, the video is to blatant.

He's obviously bullshitting. Replays clearly show Sanchez coming to a stop and Terry moving foward to knee him. Terry's an idiot and a liar. This shouldn't surprise anyone.
He apologized after the match in the post game interview after he saw how fucking obvious it looked. But yeah, he's an idiot.

I don't think anyone argues that Chelsea is the better team at the moment. Imo they're past their prime which you can see at their pretty mediocre PL results this season and were pretty lucky to reach the semi finals.
But in both games they played better than Barca and deserve to go through. Football isn't about playing pretty it's about playing a style which suits your team and counters the other team :/
Barca had plenty of chances but botched them - something you can't afford with a defense as bad as they got..

Suck it up and get Barcelona to learn how to adapt. Just because they were beaten by a style of football you don't like doesn't mean it wasn't football.
AMAZING i fucking love chelsea so much!! OMG so many ups and downs this season but we stuck together and we beat the best team in the world over 2 legs! Bit of luck along the way i dont give a fuck! Were in the final vs anyone i don't care, everyone knows anything can happen in the final, just look at Liverpool winning it in 2005, im so happy right!! COME ON CHELSEA!!
JT - stupid moment, glad he came out at the end apologised to fans and players and put his hands up, he knows he shouldn't of done it and he has the worst punishment in the world of not making the final.
Ivanovic - Argh so sad for him, booking keeps him out of the final so sad, he got it for descent from the penalty which they missed too
Raul - was always going to get a Yellow, but to get it in the 85th minute i beleive was so sad, he clearly was distraught when the ref bought the card out, you saw his reaction, was begging and pleading not to get it.
Ramires - the saddest of them all, played so well tonight and got it for a rather unlucky challenge, Chelsea going to miss him the most out of them all i think, cuz he is proving a big game player with 2x important passes/goal in the 2 legs.
Ref had a good game, Fabregas clearly dived for his penalty which they missed, but i got to admit they have not shown it much (might be ball to hand) but Ashely before Torres (AMAZING OMG PRO GOAL :p) looked like he handled it but might be ball to hand.
Torres, score another lke that in the final and Roman would be pleased he spent the money on you
GG!!! ♥♥
EDIT: The ivanovic interview, GEOFF YOU ARE A FKN WANKER!!!! he said aswell to Drogba in his interview, that ramires and raul were also supsended from finals after he listed ivanovic JT as out. He knows how to make players sad huh >.<
I have a much better, analytical, historical and contextual understanding of this game then you will ever have.
A new game: guess Rebs true identity.
Di Stefano?
This match was a good reminder of why I like football. Just nice weather, good pitch & proper refereeing you can rest assured the better team wins. Individual skill, strategy, physical attributes, money, motivation : any combination can be succesful yet nothing works on its own. There is very little luck involved.
Dont need to have be Cruyff to know more than people who rile of this kind of drivel with the confidence of a baboon in heat,..
