Sad indeed. Well, he will leave with yet another CL trophy in his hands, xP.

we (chelsea) will have a rematch with Barca if we can beat Benfica, which is definitely an easier draw than many possibilities!

Well, it is not official and the player have not communicate still anything. Maybe he can continue playing (I wish). The problem is that football is a "contact sport" and he could be hit in the operated zone. We will see.

Abdidal did undergo surgery last year due to a tumor on his liver and still came back to play in the Champions League finals. Hopefully he'll be able to recover from this surgery as well.

Unlikely, a transplant isnt quite the same as removing cists and markings of tumors. Theres alot of hassle involved with how the transplant sets in and then the body adjusting to the new liver, it can take upto a year+ to just get to doing normal stuff again. The problem is hardly getting "hit" in the operated zone. And frankly by the the time he is fit enough to start playing again hell have aged and making comebacks at that age at such a high level would require some real herculean effort on his part that may well not even be worth it.
Id rather he just retire gracefully and enjoy his life, hes been an excellent servant for Barcelona.

Both For Chelsea and for Benfica it's a good Draw. Only Marseille and Apoel would be easier, for both.

Wow didn't hear about Abidal. I agree this will probably mark the end of his career. Remember how he wouldn't sign a 1 year contract extension because he thought he might not be able to contribute? I think after this, he's gonna agree to a termination. Barca arse supposedly after Jordi Alba from Valencia too.
Btw, really excited about Bilbao. Bielsa's adapted his Chile team tactics to the club game. Playing Martinez in central defence is amazing. A big strong player, good on the ball - distribution and calm. He is gonna be top class wherever he goes.

Sorry double.

Park arguably still the best defensive attacking midfield, with the highest workrate, that MU have. And with Giggs playing in front of the midfield center, MU need Park to provide some cover for that. Giggs is good, but certainly can't keep up with sheer energy and workrate of Bilbao midfields, this something that Park can offer. While I can justify the inclusion of Park, I can't see the reason why Hernandez or Chicarito not playing. Both Hernandez and Chicarito love to exploit the space behind the defense line, and with high defense line that Bilbao played, both of them will almost guaranteed to create something, or the very least they can push Bilbao defense back to their own goal. Perhaps Sir Alex didn't think that Bilbao will play with high defense line after the precious away win at Old Trafford. (or perhaps it was just simply that Sir Alex doesn't want to lose concentration in the EPL).
You know Hernandez and Chicarito are the same person right? Or did United sign another player name Hernandez or Chicarito?

Anything other than a Barça - Real final would be a huge upset. Top 2 teams by faaaar currently. For the remaining teams in the CL, Bayern is too inconsistent still, Chelsea is kinda trash currently. The team that could make an upset is Milan but if they somehow got the fluke win against Barça, I doubt they'd get that lucky in the final against Real.

I think Bayern and AC Milan definitely have a chance to knock out their opponents. I'd say it's 60:40 in RM's and Barca's favour.

Just another good story line for european football.

Yeah what was it? I'm searing on ESPN and skysports and can't find out anything specific

He just collapsed to the ground, out cold and had to be stretchered off, apparently he's in serious trouble

It took 10+ minutes to get him off the pitch and Howard Webb took all the players inside. The camera never once showed a replay or a close-up of the paramedics, just disturbed/distressed faces of the crowd and players. I hope Muamba is ok but it doesn't look good...

They called off the match... Muamba's being rushed to the hospital
