I don't know what they did but they really fucked battles up in those 2 games, it's just too slow. 30+ seconds to load on a ps3 at times and atb bars / animations a lot slower then 7, I just think it sucked the life out of them both. FF7 doesn't suffer from that at all, crisp and fast paced battles / loading Really? The ATB bar in FF8 loads up ridiculously fast. Like, really. It's even faster than in FF9 with auto-boost on. That sounds surprising. When was the last time you played FF8/9?

plus golbez is a fucking badass. as for platform, the DS version remake is considered the hardest, but I prefer the PSP remake.

I don't think FF4 is "hard", per se. The difficulty, IMO, depends almost entirely on: + Show Spoiler + Getting the Draw Attack Augment If you have it, it's super easy. Otherwise, let the hell begin.

I didn't say it was hard, I only said that of all the versions the DS version is "considered" the hardest.

But it is only 12 euro for a 60+ fps, better resolution version of a game that cost 60 euro 4 years ago. I've been reading around and SE said that XIII had been originally developed for the PC but they didn't release it because they didn't see a profit on the PC platform back then. So this shouldn't be a shitty port. Fuck it, bought it anyway

What do you think guys? u must be really cheap or don't know what a good deal is when you see one. all 3 games are fu**ing long.....im sure i spent close to 200 -300 for all 3 including DLC + collectors guides. literally isn't ever going to be a better deal than that if i've seen one. gamestop charges you more for a broken dvd disc.

Also it's already in the description ( on Steam that is ) that a controller is highly recommended so I would not expect perfectly implemented mouse control either. For the moment I'd see no real point in pre-ordering when you will know - in just two weeks - how good the port will be.

Reading around on different forums etc. people seem to be 99% sure that 60fps will be possible if not shipped with the game then through a simple mod. Same goes for the higher resolutions. This is not a console port. I don't usually pre-order but I want to see not only XV on PC, but all the other SE RPG's come to steam.

If you can manage the first 20 hour or so "tunnel" and get to Grand Pulse where everything opens up it's a really great game. For me XIII has the best battle system of all the FF games.

Let me begin with saying that I think all those game are linear games. FFVII and to some extent FFIX just hides it better and makes up for it by giving you the chance to explore the world map every now and to do some sidequest in other areas besides the main quest. FFXIII and FFX are more linear indeed but IMO this doesn't matter much. The main problem is that the tutorial in FFXIII keeps on forever (like 10 hours at least). It totally kills the immersion and pretty much also kills the challenge in the early- and midgame. I got a bit burned out on XIII and dropped it, but and apart from the tutorial thing it was more fun than X.
