Quite frankly I don't think there is enough buzz about this guy. I went to a Clippers @ Kings game and damn, he is fun to watch. You just know he is gonna do something big and just wait for it to happen. Crazy thing is that his teammates miss him a lot for alley-oops. If he wasn't a rookie I think there would be talk about him being the best PF in the league. There were only 10 guys in the entire league to average 10+ rebounds in the entire league. Blake finished 4th (behind Love, Howard, and Randolph). The only other PF's that can score and rebound like Blake are Love, Randolph, and Pau Gasol. And I would take Blake over each of them.

Sitting in front of Riley in a Heat-Bulls playoff game? How did you land that? Would love to hear any other tidbits and thoughts you picked up from actually being there.

Rofl, this is a fucking classic. I think I'm gonna foul Damon Jones, but call it on Chauncey instead.

Would love to hear any other tidbits and thoughts you picked up from actually being there. Basically my roommate's family has AWESOME season tickets and he was lucky enough to get two to this game. I kind of wish I had brought a little notepad or something just to write all my thoughts haha it was quite the experience. Before that I'd only ever sat on the 2nd level and above which is more-or-less like watching the game on TV, in terms of perspective. We got there as they were opening the United Center up (so like an hour before intros) so there were players out there warming up. Eddie House looks really weird in real life--his arms don't make sense for his body (they're too long and they're too big). All of the NBA players look way more imposing when you're sitting 30 feet from them, even Derrick Rose who is about my size (although he was less imposing than, say, Asik, who is like a fucking tower). It is weird seeing that Joel Anthony, Luol Deng, and Carlos Boozer are all roughly the same size (I mean I knew they were all 6'9", cognitively, but on TV Anthony always SEEMED bigger than Booz who SEEMED bigger than Deng, but that's really not the case). Korver's shot was off in warm-ups and I took that as a bad sign for things to come...and when he proceeded to shoot 1-7 and play no defense my worst fears basically came true. Taj on the other hand was on fire, although he was warming up on shots that he normally wouldn't/shouldn't take (like 20 footers along the baseline). Jamaal Magloire's listed height is 6'11" but there's no way he's that big. Some idiot deep bench player for the heat was practicing half court shots, and he wouldn't get off the court when it was time to get ready for the intros... I was like who is this jackass? Still don't know actually. The place went nuts when Rodman was brought out to present the game ball. It was like all of the people old enough to know who he is were cheering for him and then there was the large contingent of roughly high school-age-and-younger people who were all reacting like "who is this weirdo with all the piercings and tattoos and why does he have Angelina Jolie's lips?" Throughout the first quarter when Spo was cycling through lineups every chance he got he just looked flustered and overmatched. I know I bash Spo a lot but after this I kind of felt sorry for the guy, he's got a shitload on his plate and it can't be easy to coach a team with 8.5 nobodies (Haslem is .5 of a nobody until he's fully recovered from his surgery) active on the roster in the Conference Finals. People were booing Lebron when he was introduced, whenever he made a play... it was kind of disappointing. You can hear a lot of the boos/cheers a lot better when you're down on the floor. I'm a firm believer in enjoying the game regardless of what you think of the players and the booing really kills the mood in the arena. Honestly it's not like he killed a fan or something, he doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. Thibs was talking to the refs after pretty much every bad or questionable call and I'm surprised he didn't get a technical with some of the things it looked like he was saying. Rose seems otherworldly when you watch him in person, his acceleration can't really be appreciated from far away/on TV. On one possession with Wade guarding him he did a little hesitation with his left hand (he was on the left side of the floor), crossed over to his right hand and started to step back like he was gonna switch and go right, and then, when Wade shifted his weight to cut off Rose's path to the right, Rose crossed back over and just blazed by Wade AND the help defender (I think it was Haslem?). And then he missed a reverse that he normally makes and I cried a little inside. But the athleticism of the play was ridiculous. Riley does not react to games AT ALL. I kept looking back at him to try to figure out what he was thinking. Nothing. Totally blank expression the whole time. Actually he had this look like he was watching the game from a very clinical perspective. Almost like a psychiatrist assessing a patient. I kept wishing a Bulls player would throw down a momentum-changing dunk a la Taj over Wade in game 1 but all the great dunks were going to Heat players, specifically Haslem. That's all off the top of my head right now, if I remember anything else important enough I'll edit it into this post.

My money is on the Mavs, Terry will come back with vengance!
