Hes still a kid and he loves the attention he gets there, pretty sure hes gonna get another contract down there then maybe when hes a bit older he starts worrying about the championship also Dirk and Durant both looked horrible in the 4th, so much for closers Overpay? He's getting the same contract no matter where he goes.

He was scoring the most of his points in the 4th today. In the 3rd he scored ZERO, that's where he was bad.

Yeah, the NBA has a semi-hard salary cap and, therefore, maximum contracts (both years and salary) that can be handed out. Dwight Howard is a top 5 player in the league due to a combination of physical gifts, age and talent. He'll get max money anywhere. Still, we can't say anything until we see the new CBA, Orlando may be able to offer up to 35% more than any other team - we don't know.

I doubt the home team adv will go away unless they bring in franchise tags like the NFL has. I dont think will fly though, so the home team advantage will be increasedby increasing the amount paid per year and/or the number of years to the contract for the home team. I cant remember what the numbers were off the top of my head(so I will pull numbers out my ass), but how many players take say $115 million over 6 years to stay at home where they don't think they will win over say $100 million (also over 6 years) and a chance to win a title. Instead I see it moving to a choice between $100 million over 6 to go versus say 140/150 million over 7 years.

Let the record reflect that I was sitting behind Miami's bench (better seats than Riley, he was behind me and to the right) and I could see/hear one of the refs (#9) apologizing to Noah and Boozer for the terrible calls by the other ref (#23) (this was in the 2nd quarter). Example--- Noah: Where was the foul there? (asking about the one they called against Korver on Wade going baseline) #9: (shakes his head) There was no foul there. There wasn't a foul. The officiating was awful this game BUT it wasn't 10 points awful; the Bulls didn't need that much help to lose this game. That was the Bulls' failure to get anything going on offense, missing EASY buckets. Then there were some bad defensive lapses (like Asik leaving Haslem open in the paint to double Wade at the top of the key). The Bulls came out and played possibly the worst game I've seen them play this season and the game was still tied 73-73 with, what, like 5 minutes left to play? Something that you couldn't get from the TNT broadcast was that the shitty calls just killed the mood in the building... every time the Bulls made a good play or defensive stop, getting the crowd on their feet, #23 (usually) calls some bullshit and completely destroys the mood. And what's wrong with Taj trying to get the crowd into the game at the end? There's nothing wrong with encouraging the home crowd. I can't believe people would complain about this. Do you only watch basketball on TV and never actually go to games? Anyway I was disappointed with all of the Bulls and especially Rose, all of whom missed shots they normally make. I'm also pissed at Thibs for playing Korver, honestly unless he's sinking underhand half-court shots while swinging his nuts around like a lasso ((c) Simmons) I'd rather see Bogans or Brewer in the game. Edit: All the Rose vs. Westbrook comparison/debate is a joke. Yes their production in terms of ppg, apg is similar, and yes they have similar height/weight, but their games and roles are different and it's retarded to suggest that Westbrook is just the Western Conference's Derrick Rose. Plus Rose won the MVP for reasons that extend beyond the basketball court in addition to his on-court contributions. This is hardly a travesty of an MVP award along the lines of Karl Malone over Michael Jordan. That's a ridiculous comparison.

Maybe it just got less attention before then, when there wasn't TIVO and instant Youtube videos with every mistake, but now that we know it's there, it's starting to infect the games. Like, even if both teams are playing great, there's an itch in my mind about the refereeing and it makes me dislike watching. The best thing I can compare it to would be professional SC2 on default Blizzard only maps. If we went back to things like Incineration Zone or Steppes, I would stop watching. It's probably more difficult to officiate, both logistically and in terms of the speed of the game, than the NFL, but the NFL uses more people and a more rigorous method. The NBA needs to start paying refs a lot more (so their selection pool will increase) and get younger blood. I'm not even a real Mavs fan, but I might kill someone if I see Salvatore/Joey Crawford/Danny Crawford ref another one of their games. I have a hard time not believing Donaghy about these guys. EDIT: And I know those aren't the offenders tonight, but they're consistently the worst.
