But WoW isn't grindy, it has plenty of quests and easy leveling, and I'm not saying grindy/difficult is a bad thing but when you have no choice but to fight the same monsters over and over for 2 or 3 long levels as a squishy caster wizard, then it gets kind of worn out pretty quickly. Now I suppose I'll just look for groups

The amount of monsters gets decreased so it's manageable, but the xp cut is pretty substantial as well.

I'll try again next morning after DL's finish but might be unplayable whilst im visiting SEA Hey - the lag is what makes it old school. Ever played the original Quake 1 or Doom online? Exactly, every action has a half a second delay before you see it happening. Good old school mid 90's netcode, none of this fancy shmancy toying that modern casual friendly game sgive.

But it isn't insane, The secret spots would be for some easy gold but in general there is nothign to get messed up on. Just make sure you quest and try to party all the time.

(happened in many mmos i played before) Endgame perspective: Strategy: At the moment, frost wizards seem to be dominant thanks to blizzard, so frost blessing and milestone is typical here. People almost always choose 10% health milestone, since you have enough MP for any fight anyway, and resist isn't important since your inevitably huge int will reduce spell damage anyway (also spell piercing negates resists to some extent...). As for Madness/shadows/curse, that's up to you, it's usually a toss-up between the first 2 abilities since curse is so limited and duration is so short. Money: Bank often Equipment: Whatever you can get. The first 'competent level' gear is something along the lines of woolen hat, Mage Slime Robes, Meteorite Armlet, and some cool looking weapon. Stats: Spell Pierce > +ice/+int when dealing with mobs in Black Sanctum. Caps for important stats are 50% for elemental damages, 40% for spell piercing. Best part: if you somehow mess something up, it's okay because there are scrolls for resetting your moon blessing, your milestones, your seeds, and even your initial appearance!
