I'd consider $2.50 worth it for not having to use Origin. Even @ 10$ its better than using Origin lol. Seriously tho, even if it were 10$, its easily worth it, game is amazing.
Indeed. Wouldn't get Origin for any free game. Just buy it "cheap" elsewhere.

I don't get the hate for Origin. It's a functional and smooth program. I can't really argue with free games.

It took too long to become decent. Even today steam is far superior. Still, it's better than Uplay.
On topic, Dragon Age Origins is amazing and I recommend it to everyone. I don't think RPG's get much more better.

And obviously Steam is far superior, is a platform with over 10 years of experience. Can tell many of you guys werent there when Steam was launched, it has a shit ton of failures too got that correct with the time.
I dont think Origin is some breakthroug but is a solid platform and i believe the hate to it comes more from the hate to EA.

Basically, if you're going to be forced into a DRM platform, you use the one that's the best. And that's Steam, which covers almost every available game on the market, and most of the games that aren't on Steam don't need some third party platform.
At some point, consumers have to put their foot down and push back against these companies loading up PCs with bloatware.

My Origin account was hacked the other day. Someone got in, spent a load of money on Fifa 15 points and used to it buy players which he then sold to himself on the cheap. The security of Origin is flawed, this has never, ever happened to me with Steam. Not only that, the customer support people frankly couldn't give a fuck because they already have the money. They wouldn't even look into the guy who did it, they just don't care. So Origin is linked to EA, part of the reason i hate EA so much is Origin.

Well, there are multiple reasons for me. 1. I don't like those plattforms in general. I don't like steam, either. Some update to the plattform can break your entire library. One hack and everything is gone. 2. Origin, while they changed it from what they first announced with their spyware, the EULA still states "blabla we don't take any personal stuff" but in the next paragraph it says "yeah we are allowed to take any data from your pc". That's too shady for my likings. 3. I don't think EA is worth of any support.
On topic: I still have to play Origin one day. I hope I will like it, many do say it was good. But I would be (positively) surprised if it's even close to RPG's like Planescpae: Torment.

It's pretty above average story-wise. This is my 2nd run (got too underleveled on my first run that I got stuck on a boss). I pirated the game on my first run that when it was on sale I decided to buy a copy to show my appreciation and finally do a correct run.

Ionball2 free on indigala.

DA origins is a good game if you don't compare it with the old school golden age RPG's like BG, PS, Fallout etc..

What input did they use? Did they use the tactical view or just the retarded 3rd person view? All gameplay I've seen was 3rd person with controller, and I'm interested in the others.
Also what was the difficulty? It's not like DAO / DA2 were tactical on lower difficulties, but just hack & slash with AI-controlled party members. i.e. Friendly Fire was only available in Nightmare in DA2, and it's imho required for tactical play.
About Steam vs Origins: Steam has all the games. Origins has the better customer support.

Yeah. More like very simplified, 3D version of BG.
