I never realized Company of Heroes was supposed to be that good. I'm definitely picking up the pack. (although its a little surprising the pack isn't discounted any more than buying all the parts individually)

Very happy a good RTS came up for sale, that's one genre I was missing buying. ^^

Pepperoni: It's terrible game, don't even bother. Sim City 4 is perfectly fine and cheaper. CitiesXL is bugged as fucked and the developers never gave a shit about it.

The only game I've played in today's sale is AudioSurf. Its another music game where you collect blocks as you run down the road(your pace is determined by the tempo of the music) and the amount of blocks is determined by the beat I believe. Its quite fun for a while and something to come back too as well. I like it better than Beat Hazard as this one is a lot easier on the eyes.

Need advice which C&C titles to pick up, and in general advice on today's games.

While that is true, I'm gonna assume he is talking about CitiesXL 2011 which is the one sale and not the old version.
The previous developer/publisher failed hard after investing in the game and didn't manage to finish it, they had to put it out. But then later on they got bought out, got people working on it again to fix it and make it into the game it should've been in the first place.
If that's the case then for a pure modern day city builder it should be quite good. Especially if you haven't played any of the City Life's, which was the game the original team made before CitiesXL, because the society tiers and different mixes of people needed to fill different sectors that sort of made that game special are pretty cool. Even though I can't compare it to Anno or Settlers, maybe it isn't comparable.
Just wanted to get that out there because as much as I hate that there is no new Sim City coming, I feel that's a very unfair judgement for one of the few games that approaches a Sim City in current times decently.

I've tested all of the C&C games since Tiberium Wars. Red Alert 3 has some great cooperative gameplay, but I'm not sure if the multiplayer is still alive.

Tiberium Wars is decent too, but stay away from #4 which completely killed itself and destroyed whatever innovative stunt they were trying to pull.

I'd definitely agree with C&C4 being mutilated. You could totally tell they had like... no idea what they were doing. It was awful and broke my heart.

Audiosurf is worth it if you still don't have it. CS:S if you still don't have it. I enjoyed watching Dead Rising 2, but I've had friends who had mixed feelings about it. I don't think I can speak for anything else. Cept Quake, again. If you still haven't tried any of it.

I think I'll end up just getting CoH Tales of Valor. :S Being kind of a cheap ass now because there are still a couple of more days of this... wallet destroyer week.

All the C&C were fine aside from 4, there's lots of differing opinions about the 3rd games, but I found them to be alright. At that price they should have very good value as far as gameplay hours go just by campaigns.

Not too sure about how active the multiplayer is anymore, most of the time I play with and against friends, uncertain about current balance too. RA3 had those pretty ridiculous turret pushes, at least on small maps.

The campaign definately isn't short, especially when you have the addons. My guess would be 15 to 20h for each campaign, depending on the difficulty ofc.

I think I might just pick up C&C3 and Kane's Wrath and that would be it. I looked at the metacritic scores and the RA 3 series seem to suck more than the original series.

What about Cities XL 2011? I remember people complained about this game hell of a lot about bugs, as well as something about paying more for some online features, trading between cities and stuff.

Also Fate of the World if anybody knows what its about!

Edit: Also Chun-li with 2 right feets is just so hot!

Soundtrack starts. Turned up the volume!!

The soundtrack is so good. Brings back so many memories

im considering cities xl 2011 and CoH. I have CoH and OP, not ToV in retail version and its a pain keeping track of discs, so i may just spend the $12 to have them forever... ahhh choices choices

Having played The Longest Journey years ago I got the sequel called Dreamfall:The longest journey, yesterday. It seems really faithful to the original, and I have been getting very nostalgic at some of the old locations. It's an adventure game, but it isn't as taxing as monkey island or anything like that. They are all pretty simple puzzles, which allow you to enjoy the story.

Anyway, you can get both in a bundle on steam for £3.75. A great investment if you like adventure games, as i do.

There isn't enough "quality" feedback on the steam forum to warrant a purchase on Cities XL 2011 for me, and the official forums(http://forum.citiesxl.com/) doesn't work for me either.

And yeah I would pick up TLJ + Dreamfall and Syberia bundles at the last day of the sale, just in case they put it up for a cheaper price

I would advise ppl to stay away from cities xl 2011. it is really buggy and only launches like 10% of the time for me. it's a really frustrating when you can't play a game you bought and don't know how to fix the problem.

Last I played yes, but there is a certain limit in length. I believe the cap for me is 10 minutes or so, the game couldn't handle anymore. Not really sure if its dependent on system spec(RAM) though. That was when I had Windows XP and 3gigs of RAM
