I really believe TR is not worth any low price. It's such a garbage attempt at a mass-market casual game. I couldn't play beyond 10 hours because of how much it was spoonfeeding me and how much like an indestructible headshotting tank Lara is.
Faster Than Light is the real winner at that very low price. A great game for only £2 are you kidding me!

have skyrim been in a daily deal yet?

No, but Flashdeal. 23€ for Legendary Edition.

Is System Shock worth it as in "are there enough mods to make it not look terrible"?
|
Metro Series is a flash deal for the next 4 hrs. I'll probably get that, but how do people regard the newer Tomb Raider? It's the daily deal and is only $13, and I wondered if it was worth getting it.
also, r.Evo do you mean System Shock 2? For $2 you should just get it. I honestly think its much better than Bioshock or Bioshock Infinite, that is if you can get past the old graphics/gameplay, but for $2 its more than worth it.

As far I know System Shock was mostly praised for being a good shooter with RPG elements. The setting and the story are supposed to be very good as well. The mods make game look a lot better, but they are not even close to HL2's or I don't know... Can't think of a good example, sorry. Also, it has co-op. Many say it kills the atmosphere of being the "survivor", but up to you.

Just bought Heroes 6, and i gotta say Ubisoft sucks so fucking hard. I haven't even started a game yet, and that shit is annoying me already. First i have to deal with your stupid DRM shit after i bought the game, which does not even allow me to enter the code i got from steam for the first 2 times i start the program, then on the third time it randomly works.
Next half the screen is black on the unskippable intro videos.
And then, the first thing i see is that apparently my name is "guest-lotsarandomletters", and google tells me that i can't change that, and that the game i bought on steam is now bound to that name. And that name is prominently displayed at all times. SERIOUSLY? I already regret giving them money before even starting the game. Why, why, why. Why. Why. Why.
Sorry, i just had to rage somewhere. Why does a company really try to make you hate them this much? None of this makes any sense at all. I know for sure that i won't be buying any ubisoft title after this.

Just wanted to put this here for people thinking about buying FTL, Walking dead, hotline miami at least. You need an us billing address (there are ways to do this even from outside us) to get these but, the prices are... a bargain (pun intended) and I've been using RPS:s bargain buckets to keep track of a lot of sales that I'd miss otherwise due to rarely being on computer these days. So, for example, FTL is £1.40/€1.62/$2.12, Hotline miami £1.40/€1.62/$2.12, walking dead £3.52/€4.07/$5.31
And of course there is still the Geneforge bundle, which is very good if you enjoy old-school rpg:s etc.

There's quite a few high res texture mods that make the game look better but it's still not going to look very good. But yes this game is worth getting for 2-3 bucks.

Regarding Tomb Raider, it's not a great game imo. The story is very weak and predictable and the characters are flat stereotypes. The game's mechanics are quite fun though and climbing and jumping around feels quite satisfying. The graphics and setting is also quite nice. So all in all, it's a decent experience, but not a GOTY candidate by any means.

I bought Witcher 2 and i just read that i can import my Witcher 1 saves . I still have the original retail version of the first one here . ( there's a promo DVD of Nightwish in the box included thats wierd ) . All the Patches the game got that are available online right ? I can upgrade my retail version to enchanced right ?
I bought the first Witcher when it was first released und played it back then on my old machine and never saw any of the changes the patches brought . Probably should've done so before. Ah well.

I watched a playthrough of Tomb Raider and it feels like they ran out of story a few hours in, so they just make you jump over and over to justify the price. In fact a shallow casual game with a heroine would be nice to introduce women to gaming, but the absolutely random gore put me off even that. That is really frustrating when every other game these days aside racing/sports franchises is either a first-person shooter or a third-person shooter disguised as an RPG.

Ubisoft is annoying but Heroes 6 is just a bad game. Gameplay is bland and tedious.

Is Nazi Zombie Army worth getting?
|
Just played 2hrs of System Shock 2. You can clearly see Bioshock is the successor of it. But man is there alot of backtracking. 1.5hrs I was running through the map confused. Its so hard to know where you have to go to. Every second room is locked and you need to find some card to unlock it. -.-

Actually I only played the first two enthusiastically so you might have a point. I just feel that with the amount of spoonfeeding (constant directions to everything), there's really no difference between the game and just a large screen that states 'congratulations, you are a winner' the second you boot up the game.

Tomb Raider is more like a typical hollywood production. The difficulty is almost non existant, it's more like a roller coaster ride. If you want a difficult game, Tomb Raider is totally not for you.
Also, it's actually a pretty cool game to speedrun.
