Just preordered, so excited for this game! Anybody know what time the servers will come up on Tuesday so that I can adjust my sleep schedule accordingly?

A new patch for Origin came out today, it still freezes up your desktop when you turn it on so I don't know if that will ever be fixed and also I looked for the first time at what it takes to run Origin in the background and it was 135,000 K Working. For BF2 through Origin you don't need it on at all to play but now knowing we will have to have that on in the back that adds a ton of wasted computer resources really doing nothing. I was for the Origin thing or at least not against it until I found out you are going to be running BF3 through it all the way, very disappointed. They could have done all that shit in the game client like every other game in history (almost but you get the gist of it). Lame...-_-

Everything that I've seen has given me the impression that you need Origin on to find servers and to look at stats and talk to friends, there has been something else called Battlelog that I have seen talked about alongside it but I'm not sure what that is. Well I guess we will all know for sure what's going to happen in a few days when the early birds get beta since I assume not much will change from how they do the game launch/friends/stats stuff from how release will be. I am pretty positive though that Origin is required at all times like Steam if that was what you meant. Kinda tired.

You do. Anyone who plans on playing bf3 is going to have to use origin and it is run through origin if its really that big of a deal for you guys and don't buy it because of it well sucks but there's no point in complaining about something you have no choice but to use if you are to play BF3.

Blade: Thanks Mr. Obvious for laying out the alternatives. I think we're all aware that we'll have to use Origin and aware that if we don't like it so much, we don't have to buy it. Complaining about something gives relief or a place to vent in order to eventually cope with the idea of using Origin.

Deal with it because as long as Origin sucks balls, there will always be people acceptably angry about it.

The only reason I brought it up was from checking how much resource use it has going on while in the background, I've had Origin for quite some time now but I never had to have it on before aside from purchasing and downloading BC2 and BF2. Blade we all know that dude lol there is no reason why people can't bring up what a resource hog it is though, that's something some that read on here might not be aware of.

... Fuck it, I'll still try running it on med/high. If all else fails I'll just drop down to minimal/low for better gameplay anyway like with sc2.

Ultra always means some random setting that does virtually nothing but costs obscene performance power, like ubersampling in Witcher 2

Same as SC2 does with its graphic settings. Ultra and high virtually has no difference.

ah I do like how it says it doesn't meet the recommended because they want us to buy the gtx 560/etc. Well I have my 570 on the way just to play this game on high hopefully at least ^_^

I built a new pc this summer just for bf3 im soooooo glad that i decided to go with the GTX 570 instead of the 550 ^.^

i preordered and i still haven't gotten an email from origin but i did get a copy of deadspace 2 lol after contacting them.

EDIT: Seeing how the cutoff date for the preoder beta access is today im going to guess the email will go out after the cutoff
