It's flawed I think, but one of the devs on twitter mentioned they're changing the LMGs to have more horizontal 'jitter' and less vertical recoil, which is a step in the right direction IMO Burst firing is actually the most effective way to shoot in BF3. I mean even if you have a foregrip on your rifle the recoil goes all over the place while you're shooting. I almost always burst fired and got tons of kills using burst fire too, also conserves ammo. The guns are really different from CoD style gameplay where just spraying at people is the best way to kill them. In BF3 I found that it was much easier to kill using 3-4 round burst sprays. An aside to the poster stating that this game sucks. You do know that this is just now August- and the game is slated for October.. There is plenty of time to fix the few issues there are with actual gameplay. I don't know what game you were playing, but burst firing is a fast way to get killed if they shoot back. Full auto and tap fire is very very accurate. You have to adjust for recoil while you fire, were you playing with a controller by chance?
Depends on the range, IMO. I burst fire typically, but that's because I tend to favor the rifles more than the SMG type weapons.
The game felt excellent to me, the spotting was an issue, I'd agree.
The only map we had to play though was a largely infantry-based rush map. I can't wait to see the more vehicle focused maps, and some different gameplay modes. I'm also hopeful that there will be some kind of competitive play for this game. I'd much rather watch a BC2 or BF3 at MLG than a COD.

Maybe decrease the weapon damage and add a max range to weapons or make them or their bullets incredibly imprecise after X range so spraying and camping won't be rewarded so much?
I can live without commander although it's painful, but shit like this needs to get ironed out so the game will be actually enjoyable =/ Only got to play rush unfortunately  . really want to play Conquest 32 vs 32, but will have to wait for release for that. Um less shots needed for sure, bullet hit seemed good, definitely not as hard to kill someone as in BF2.
It was very MOH esque which is why I couldn't stand it I like responsive controls in a shooter and more health. The fact that when I went to fix the horrible mouse smoothing with a hex editor I found out that the PC version of the game had aim assist enable was very troubling. Turning that off helped a ton to improve the controls but having to hex in mouse settings is not fun. I just feel the game is trying to model itself after COD with the new damage models which is something that turns me off. Of course plenty of people would prefer that BF3 plays more like cod like you I guess but I liked the way the game was in BF2 and even BFBC2.
