BF2 weapons are harder to use and a lot less deadly, slows down the gameplay so there's more time to take cover and play strategically I absolutely despise how call of duty-ish the damage is in this game. It greatly reduces the differences between weapons and gives campers way too much of an advantage. In the past battlefield games, if you could kill someone as he was running from cover to cover, you had to have pretty good aim and recoil control. In this alpha...not so much. The weapon damage feels more suited for a hardcore mode than a normal mode.

Maybe it's just easier for uncoordinated teams on defense than offense. there are 4 parts, I'm with you I have never gotten past the 2nd set, barely get past the first set. Its way to hard for the attackers xD.

You guys wanted a "realistic" battlefield game because COD is too arcady, you got one.

None of the weapons are instakill, they just have such low spread that landing the 6ish shots it takes to kill at range can be done near instantly, and because of latency, it's impossible to react in time

Who played Battlefield because of how much skill it took anyway? Battlefield isn't about skill, and it's been that way since Battlefield 1942.

High weapon damage just encourages camping and makes it harder to use aggressive tactics. It probably won't be as big of an issue in conquest mode since your opponents won't know which direction you're attacking from and won't be set up in an unassailable camping spot, but I still dislike it. It seems like the damage model was made for console shooters, where landing more than 4 shots with a controller requires you to surprise your opponent, so they just up the damage to Call of Duty levels to compensate. If I wanted weapons with damage this high, I'd play hardcore mode. But hey, maybe it's just a strange combination of the netcode, the spotting system, and the lowered recoil instead. I'm pretty sure the guns in Counter-Strike killed in fewer hits, yet somehow people drop so much easier in this game than that one.

From what I can tell, with the default assault riffles it takes about 3/4 body shots to kill someone. This is pretty much perfect. The only thing that sucks is how accurate the riffles seem to be. It takes no skill to just spray in a direction and get a kill.
