Show spotting on the minimap sure to get the general feel and direction, but not on the freaking screen right in front of your eyes for stupid crap like that hiding-in-the-bush-21-nuke-kill-streak-made-easy crap -.- and it's so precise too... they can still fix it by adding maybe a delay on the triangle movements say... 5s? But I don't like what I see =/ | ||

But I don't like what I see =/ The spotting is the SINGLE biggest issue with the game right now. That said, it is honestly the only major problem with the gameplay. The only thing that needs to be done to fix the spotting system is add in the same kind of restraints(if not maybe even more) on it that Bad Company 2 has. The way the system works in BC2 is that you can only 'spot' a player if they are within a certain distance.Even if you can somehow see them, it won't let you put a triangle on them if they are too far. Also the system doesn't mark people through bushes and rocks as it does now. In BC2 you couldn't spot someone unless you legitimately saw them, in BF3 right now you can just spam Q and target people across the map and behind a rock. These things are easily fixed though since the code is already written, just needs to be added. Aside from the Spotting System the only major complain I have is that the games seem to be way to Camp Centric. It's like you always need to be in crouch, or prone and behind cover otherwise you're not going to live. This kind of play leads to people just sitting around and camping instead of advancing and taking objectives like in BC2. | ||

Conquest? Also: How does the damage or shots needs to kill someone compare to BF2? Less shots needed? Maybe decrease the weapon damage and add a max range to weapons or make them or their bullets incredibly imprecise after X range so spraying and camping won't be rewarded so much? I can live without commander although it's painful, but shit like this needs to get ironed out so the game will be actually enjoyable =/ | ||

In BF2 it would take 3 or more bursts to kill someone at distance, but in the alpha there's not much more to gunplay than holding down the fire button and firing 15+ bullets at once. Burst firing is pointless, and though tap firing is a bit harder than it was in BC2, (lots of vertical auto-centering recoil means your crosshair falls below where you were aiming whenever you let go of the trigger) it can reduce bullet spread to nothing for some really bullshit near-instant kills at long range It's flawed I think, but one of the devs on twitter mentioned they're changing the LMGs to have more horizontal 'jitter' and less vertical recoil, which is a step in the right direction IMO | ||

I mean even if you have a foregrip on your rifle the recoil goes all over the place while you're shooting. I almost always burst fired and got tons of kills using burst fire too, also conserves ammo. The guns are really different from CoD style gameplay where just spraying at people is the best way to kill them. In BF3 I found that it was much easier to kill using 3-4 round burst sprays. An aside to the poster stating that this game sucks. You do know that this is just now August- and the game is slated for October.. There is plenty of time to fix the few issues there are with actual gameplay. | ||

Actually the last few months are the beta phase where the game fixes minor graphical issues, sees the game can be fully completed and tests the last minor issues such as game flow and out of world textures/splitting, etc. Huge gameplay changes are rare in this stage. | ||

But I agree, I hope for Beta in september its a conquest map, praying for it! :D Destruction was not completely removed in the alpha, there were walls you could blow up, especially in the 4th section of the map. The problem is that the first couple areas in the alpha, which were all you usually were able to see, didn't have much opportunity for destruction simply due to the map. The first part was a park and the second part was underground, if they had "full" destructibility underground it would just cave in the subway lol. I think what they meant by removing destruction was that even in the 4th area which had outdoor buildings, you were unable to completely knock down buildings like in BC2, you could only blow up walls. I'm sure in the full version there will be buildings which can be blown up completely. I'm not sure if you will be able to blow up buildings containing MCOMS to destroy the objectives, like you could in BC2. The reason I'm skeptical of this returning is that BF3 already removed the ability to do damage to MCOMS with explosives like C4 or Rocket Launchers. I think this is a good thing, I never really liked the way attackers could cheese certain objectives in BC2. | ||

Full auto and tap fire is very very accurate. You have to adjust for recoil while you fire, were you playing with a controller by chance? | ||
