I am veteran and would love to test bf3 for a while. sign up for their news letter, if you haven't got in now i'm not sure you well as alpha is only lasting 2 more days. I have been told there will be another alpha in august so maybe you can get in there ^_^. I hope its conquest because thats what I want to play, playing in the alpha now fun as hell but rush gets kinda meh especially sense I rarely see it go to the second stage its so ridiculously hard for the attackers xD.

I loved battlefield since and I have most the games for pc. Though battlefield 3 looks like an improved bad company 2. Same sounds, some same weapon models, same minimap, same kill message etc... Hope they replace that shit because I want a new fresh feel. Hey I loved BF2 so much that I was willing to wait 30 minutes to join servers with my crappy computer at the time. Now I agree with you that BF3 should have a completely modified HUD and sounds because it is a BF2 sequel and not a BC2 sequel afterall. In my opinion BC2 is way underrated and dehyped. If the game was called JUST called Bad Company 2 and not Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I think it would have gotten a lot less hate. The game itself was pretty fun and looked great if you didn't consider it to be a BF2 sequel, which it wasn't.

A fellow squad member or yourself must spot the target. You had to have a special visor helmet that you had to unlock, aswell. Why not bring it back?

I don't even mind if there isn't a commander, but why can't you give a option for a squad leader to give UAV to your squad or something. That spotting system right now is just unrealistic and easy to "abuse" if i may say so (as seen on the video previous page)

BC2 was really fun, but it had a bit of a run and gun aspect at times which I am not to big of a fan of.

Majority doesn't care if the game isn't like the previous one.

Of course conquest mode can change it completely. But still.. Because "Rush" is by far the most popular mode on BC2. I know I love it sinds it reminds me of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory a lot. Conquest is not even remotely fun on public servers (the ones most people tend to play on) because there is little to no team cohesion and everyone pretty much does whatever he/she likes, resulting in a game that's more remeniscent of death match than actual area control. Other reasons why it's more Bad Company than Battlefield is probably because Bad Company 2 outsold Battlefield 2 big time, and because the ideas of developers evolve over time. What I've seen of the game so far heavily reminds me of BC2 as well, which is the main reason why I'm still unsure about my purchase. MW3 will be the same as MW2 as well, but at least Infinity Ward has an insanely good track record in terms of cinematic single player campaigns, whereas DICE simply hasn't. The campaign gameplay they've shown thus far really failed to impress me. They're basically doing what COD4 did four years ago. I know MW3 will be a day one purchase for me whereas BF3 will be a "wait a few weeks for all the reviews to sink in" purchase (same for Skyrim, by the way; I'm not that impressed by the gameplay videos I've seen so far).

While I do wish there was a commander system, its still an insanely fun game. Dice has said they don't want to release the same game with different graphics like the call of duty series (even though the graphics barely improve in the graphics). They are trying to make different game modes that cater to all sorts of players. Conquest (my personal favorite especially in BF3) will be what a lot of old battlefield players who loved that game mode go to for the most part. Rush for people who like being in a more "confined" part of the map, more action in the sense that its a lot more clumped up. They are adding in team deathmatch probably for the call of duty crowd because rush/conquest is to complicated for 95% of them, hence why they buy call of duty every year. while I do think it would be cool for BF2 to be remade as a mod or something with the graphics of BF3 (which can't happen because of no modding ![]() ![]()

Of course Rush is by far the most popular mode in BC2. I was talking about BF2 which absolutely rocked compared to Rush mode. I wonder did you ever play BF2 if you mean that about conquest. More like rush has those problems as you mentioned, plus if the teams are unbalanced, it's pretty much impossible to get out of your base sometimes. It doesn't come as a surprise that BFBC2 sold more than BF2 did. I'm pretty sure that the releasing year had a lot to do with it though. But now we kinda have two BFBCs and third one coming in the future. Thats why they should have stick with the BF2 'concept' instead of adding bunch of (somewhat bad) features from BFBC series or go more towards it. I still agree with the rest and you have good points. But hey, someone likes BFBC and some Battlefield series, just a matter of opinions. But we will see if the Beta will impress me more than the Alpha. Right now i'm just disappointed because i actually thought they would stick with the BF2 style.

Trust me, there are not many servers left for BF2. At most you will have 4 or 5 that are full near 64 players. There were usually 10 or more with 30 or less players in them. Just under 450 servers in all, over 400 empty all the time. Contrast when BF2 was popular and there was 4000 servers and hundreds of full ones, and BF2 is not really an option anymore. I only started playing it again in anticipation of BF3 a few months back.

It's nothing like when the game first came out, but that's a fucking lot of active servers. During European peak time, there's even more players on.
