Regarding the patching of things that didn't need it, using your example of Tanks: Play on Strike at Karkand, before the patch, one squad with 3 engineers in the tank. It was stupidly difficult to destroy it, and i know for one, there were a large number of people that found an example like that to be stupid. Having no other vehicles to counter it, made semi-infantry maps like that annoying as hell to play on.
The repair-rate decreae was wonderful, but still: Whoever takes on a tank, which is being repaired, from the front deserves to die. Semi-infantry maps are designed for flanking, especially vehicles or flanking with one or 2 squadmembers to take out the engineers. And whenever we face a tank, we either let it roll through to engange it from behind OR we set up a trap and engage it from minimum 2 diff. angles. It is really really not common to engage a tank directly without much of a basic plan. Hell, I even sprayed LMG bullets at the tank to get his attention so my mates could get out a building and blow the shit out of the tank. This said as someone who really loves to drive tanks.
Jets are broken. Not only are they more efficient against ground and choppers now, they're also weaker against jets due to the reduced main gun damage. So they deal more damage, take less and can avoid it easier. Nothing of that "makes sense". If heat seekers worked properly we could talk again but DICE apparently doesn't deem it neccessary to fix that, ruining every single vehicle / air map since the patch.
This annoys me the most... Jets rape everything in a split second. Tanks, AA, Choppers, Infantry etc. Even with the AA, you are DEAD in ONE FREAkin run and you cant do ANYTHING against it. Anti-Air missiles? lol...won't hit. AA-Gun? Doesnt deal damage fast enough, so you are killed before you can deal the needed amount of damage. And I wont even start writing about the horror chopper pilots do have, when a jet flies against all physics behind you in slow-mo and rapes the shit out of you, while your own AA missiles wont ever hit jets and the Gun doesnt deal enough damage to scare a jet away. The pilot will lol at your maneuvers you fly to avoid him and just rape you with an ez mode smile.

That's your opinion, but one that seems more based on personal experience rather than cold hard facts. If you want personal experience to dictate the effectiveness of the patch, then in my experience, the patch is good since I jumped from a 1.5 k/d ratio on average to over 2 post-patch. But I know that personal experience is not a credible source.
General internet consensus is that supression is too powerful, yet here you are claiming that it's not powerful enough because someone can turn around and kill you when supressed (which, imo, is a good thing because it means you don't insta-die when under supression). Your rationale seems very confusing. My thoughts go to the original accusation: you're just not as good with your weapons as you think you are. That's not the game's fault at all really.
He's not claiming that the person killed him, he's claiming that the person was able to turn around and suppress him before he was able to down them outright. Thus, he couldn't kill them, they had no chance of killing him, and nobody died despite two people emptying full clips in plain sight.
The issue is that suppression breeds suppression. Being suppressed stops you killing someone, but it doesn't stop you suppressing them back. So everyone ends up suppressed, and nobody ends up dead, and the game gets stupid.
Even still, I know for a fact that this is not the case with supression unless you really suck at killing people on your first burst. Seriously, watch some gameplay footage for anyone playing this game, and you'll see that 9 out of every 10 kills they get is when someone with low situational awareness is facing the wrong direction. It's a joke how many kills are made on the unaware. If you're telling me that every one of those people is quick enough to not only locate where the shots are coming from (a general direction hitmark isn't exactly a GPS tracking system), but also accurately return fire to within 5 feet of their shooter, then that shooter deserves the suprssion he gets frankly, because he just sucks at putting guys down with his first burst. Also, as mentioned before, supression is a double-edged sword than can be employed to your benefit as much as to your demise. If people have a hard time, it's because they aren't skilled enough to weild such a weapon. Period.
As for all this "tanks are a joke now" talk, I don't know what game you guys are playing, but give me a random pub server and a tank, and I'll score at LEAST 4 kills before my tank dies, and that's without a repairing engineer. Usually I get at least one combat effectiveness ribbon when I snag a tank. Once again, this all comes down to people of low skill bitching because their lives got shaken up a bit. I mean, minimum 4 kills with a tank... if there was a gun that I used that always gave me at least 4 kills before anyone could kill me, you'd bet your ass there'd be screams of "OP" all over any forum related to this game. Well, a vehicle is a weapon, yet you people still think it doesn't do enough.
All things being said, the one point I do agree with the whiners on are jets. Fuck, there's no stopping them now. If there's a guy in a server with a jet and 100+ hours of jet play under his belt, he's never going to die.

I pretty much insta quit any game if they have a decent jet pilot. Its pretty much over. And Im surprised that you guys arent raging about the server thing. When I do quick match, I want to play standard games with standard rules. But now I am always in servers with "no usas 12, no saiga 12k, no frag rounds, and no spawn killing" or my favorite "repair tools and defibs only". Or they have "1500 tickets", or its "metro 24/7", or heres a gem server I was put in: "ban if you get above 30 kills, only admins and VIP's are allowed 30+ kills" O_O wth?
Then I gotta quit and spend more time in loading screens, which totally takes me out of the mood to play.

The suppressor took a big hit, and is now completely useless, unless you REALLY want to be stealthy. Now, people equip heavy barrel on the M16A3 with no foregrip. And altho I really can't get used to the recoil myself, and avoid the weapon, a lot of people think it is the best weapon in the game.

I got a lot of success after using the M16 with foregrip and flash surpressor, Idk what it is. Maybe it works for me because I'm so used to BF2142 and the mainly upward recoil

I think the reason air vehicles are so good right now is because we don't have a fly by wire type weapon that gives us full control. Back in 2142 I had a 4.16 KDR with the sudnik.
Tanks still rock in PUB matches if you play smart and enemy doesn't have good pilots focusing most of their attention to killing you. I'm using Thermal Optics, Canister Shell and Proximity Scan when playing solo.
This battlelog is partly brag and partly saying tanks aren't totally dead, I'm actually a mediocre player just had a good round but it shows tanks can still work, I even had random people as gunners and played assault myself so had practically no repair. Even killed three assault choppers this round, yet again says more of their caliber than mine and I can't do anything vs good air.
Also M16 with Heavy Barrel + Foregrip + Kobra RDS is working super well for me, no idea if it's actually a good set up but works for me, just need to burst fire.
Not saying I wasn't bothered by getting used to new suppression, recoil and gun behaviour/choises which made the few first matches I played a pain but I've gotten used to them already and don't mind em anymore. Also I've somehow lost some 1v1's to auto-pistol Recons with my assault rifle which puzzles me but I try to blame it on my own awfulness. And yeah okay Jet's are a bit too much atm...

I shouldnt have to live with it though. If I want to screw around and just play for goofs I will go to the Server Browser, but when I do Quick Match I want to play with standard rules and stuff. It gets really annoying having to quit server after server till you hit one that isnt lame.

I know, unfortunately, there is no workaround, and I actually am using the "configure Server search" and just find a server that suits me... =F Normally, Server with restrictions are not allowed to be ranked, so checking the "play only on ranked servers" should filter em out but well, DICE/EA doesnt enforce anything that gives em money...

Basicly fixing things that were broken. There seems that there are more things that could need some fixing tho. Let's just hope this update actually works as intended.

Cool that they are attempting at least to fix some of the bugs/issues. Would love to know how they 'Tweaked tank armor strength', as in to what degree.
