Depends are you flying heli or jet. Personally, mouse+keyboard for heli and Joystick for Jet. I guess you should test and try it out which suits you best?

Click the small hard to spot manage friends icon logo in the left bottom of your com center, then hover above a name and click x. That should do it, I didn't actually try clicking the x though as I don't want to remove my friends. :d
And Claymores indeed seem pretty weak compared to what they were in BF2, only tried them in a couple matches but still.
Thx, worked.
Yeah, I'll still play around with them sometimes, but I just unlocked the mortar and am having the time of my life with it. So stupid when you think about it. xD

I made this if anyone is interested. Editing is pretty bad/simple (stuff mashed together). It's 7 mins of flying. Note: I have a LOT to learn, I believe, so my "technique" is very very raw. (Perhaps noobish, I don't know, I have no point of reference)
I use mouse + keyboard. Any tips would be appreciated =)

I learned to fly heli with mouse/keyboard and worked fine for me, but I decided to try my xbox controller for jets and could actually control it lol. Just try out the joystick and see how you like it, I personally thought it was much easier than mouse/keyboard.

What upgrade is a helicopter pilot supposed to have against mobile AA? Its MG rips up helicopters so fast and they can't maneuver like jets. The mobile AA heat seekers are just a bonus. You can rack up a ton of points against enemy helicopters if they're too stubborn to stay far away.
Vs jets, the mobile AA is pretty balanced. Only a bad pilot that flies too low, slow, or tries to dive it will die.
Anyway, I can't stand when noobs treat the mobile AA like a tank, going for land targets.

But that's the thing, Mobile AA actually rips apart infantry and they do decent vs tanks as well.

granted, but you should always clear the helicopters first. I see too many ignore air targets entirely.

I'm very guilty of trying to do both. In an average game if I stay in a mobile AA the whole time (Which equates to maybe 3 deaths at most o/ ) Almost all of my casualties are from seeing the closest cap point untaken and just.. trying.. to sneak.. over.. there.. and boom C4. It's nice to catch someone in your sights because AA vs infantry is just brutal but you'll get hit from every dark area and hole you can't put fire on.
That video higher up the page was very interesting- a mobile AA can kill a tank in one belt if it is hit from the rear and 95% of shots land. I'll put fire onto tanks if they are in LoS and nothing is on air radar. But only then and I've drawn unwanted attention an equal number of times as killed tanks. Jeeps however.. jeeps are fair game ^_^ Suckers go down fast.
I'm a fair pilot. I'm not that guy in the video and I've seen 5 or 6 people much better than me. But I know how to fly a heli well enough that I can offer a few tips. 1. If you don't know where their mobile AA is, don't go to their deployment area or nearest cap points. You're just asking to take all manner of AA fire from infantry, jets and those evil guns. 2. On firestorm, stick closer to buildings than you normally would like. The higher you are the easier you are to hit for everyone. Yeah tanks will try and swipe you but if your gunner is competent you can kill tanks much faster than they can kill you. MUCH faster. 3. When you aren't hovering over a cap point or holding still for a very important reason, always move low and fast. If you're above an elevation of 5 and get shot down: that's why. I get locked onto frequently but I almost always lose ground lock thanks to hills and buildings. 4. The gunners guided missile can hit an AA from the edge of a guns effective range. You can force a relocation or evacuation of the mobile AA if you're sitting on the ragged edge of his range. I've had, to date (and I'm close to getting my second service star in mobile AA) TWO helicopter pilots kill my AA. Out of 100+ vehicle kills and 2 losses I would strongly advocate you just leave the mobile AA the hell alone unless you have TV Missiles. 5. Fly low, fast and fuck light poles they are the work of the devil. Edit: I completely forgot my original thought!
6. Jet kills are easy when they fly low and turn perpendicular to you. Just pound rounds into them and they're down. The same is applied to helis. If you are hit by an AA and have located where it is do your UTMOST to line up directly parallel to it and gtfo. The smallest possible hitbox with utmost haste.
Mobile AA sucks but Jets are your real enemy :< Mobile AA can be avoided. If your jet pilots are just fiddling with their "sticks" you're pretty much boned.

You can now use commands again.
sweet... any chance you can give us a link to a page with a list of commands that we can use? i was unable to find one (other than console commands)
btw a HUGE tip for all of my fellow tanksters... look out for m15 or other explosives on the ground... once you get used to seeing them they stick out
they especially stick out if you use thermal vision - they are white and the ground is dark grey... EZ points for shooting them (explosives blow them up, you get 20 points per explosive you blow up, and ribbons)
Oh, that being said- when I see a heli from the seat of a mobile AA I get an evil smile on my face. You can defeat mobile AAs but.. what's it at 150 even lol, 150 kills in the mobile AA. Usually good times when I see a vehicle ^.^ Although I'm at 145 in the heli sooo.

I bought it through the Origin store.
When you go to the Battlefield 3 page on Origin they give you the choice of PC Download or PC Physical, just click the Download version and follow through everything they tell you to do.

I have to say, i bought this games last night and am very impressed, i thought the game play would be too slow as i am used to playing modern warfare games, but the games is pretty decently fast. The thing that really blows me away about this games is the scale, you can see tanks and planes and choppers from miles away, and its pretty cool to think that they are all being controlled by real players. Games like MW are really good at making environments that have artificial backgrounds and triggered events in the background that look cool but are the same every time that you play through. Battlefield doesn't have anything artificial (at least in multiplayer) because the game play is so impressive that it kinds makes the environment real.
