Ok just so I can better understand, can we get a Rotation list? I know that some Rush (>_<) and small Conq maps were put in. But I would just like to know the reasoning behind the changes to the rotation.

Let's give it a day before we go changing things again. I think a lot of it has to do with you guys beign so new to rush, because I joined an hour ago and had no problem winning our match on attackers.

Our server is more popular than ever with these settings. So something is being done right.

I think its time to stop screwing with the server settings.

This is generally what it takes to have a popular server that stays filled.

64 player

3 of the most popular conquest maps (basically all of the maps that have aircraft)

And a small group of admins to take care of any of the riff raff.

Forget rush, forget HC, forget having every map in the pool. Just pick the best 3 or 4 (Caspian border, Seine Crossing, Operation Firestormm and Kharg Island IMO since they offer the most depth and scale.

The new features sound great!

As for popular server settings, there are plenty of popular hardcore servers. The only thing that I have a problem with is Highway. Highway lags something fierce every time I play it, (net-style lag, not FPS lag - like rubberbanding.)

I second the above, but ithink that the increased server population might have to do with the game having been out for that much longer, and more people (possibly from this forum) having recently gotten the game.

I for one absoulety hate rush, now I'm one person and it would be unreasonable to say that justifies a rotation change. But I have heard very little in the way of "omg rush is just what we needed' and more along the lines of "omfg why the hell are we playing rush and small Conq maps" is server chat.

Speaking of server chat, while I understand the idea behind the welcome so and so to the server message, I think that needs to go. It clogs the chat and I think that it has some kind of bug. At the start of every match it just lists off everyone on the server and takes a while to do so.

Now that wouldn't bother me iff you could turn off chat, but as far as I've seen there isn't a way to do this.

I second removing rush and shitty conquest maps

Couple of things wrong with this game

1. Biggest problem for this game, which I heard that it stayed this way since BF2. No team auto balance, as some people have complained, one team usually dominate the other team. This is no exception in TL server. By auto balance I mean shuffling the team every round based on everyone's score from last round. COD does this, and every single round is some what balanced, or at least you do not get same team every round. I just played 6 games on the TL server, and every single time our team got dominated, with no team shuffle at all. I usually end up with top score on the losing team, but unbalanced team is just not fun, it doesn't help any body, especially when it stays that way forever.

2. AT mine is too strong, especially when you can cover an entire base or several flags with:
lay AT mines, suicide, lay more AT mine, suicide... rinse and repeat (AT mines does not despawn when you die)

3. Some conquest flag layout are too linear. Once you gain the middle flag, it is very hard for the enemy team to come back.

I removed Tehran. And instead of a rush map every other map, changed it so its a 3/1 ratio.

I'm keeping the setting's where they're at.

I changed the mapcycle a bit, to encourage more conquest, and less rush. It still has rush for the clusterfucks we all secretly still enjoy.

played with friend today, other than the random mass killing by admins on operation metro when we almost had A (we got it later on anyways) we had fun :D

that was an epic failed test. Bad news is testing the commands we slipped.

Good news is we now have over 20 admins. And we disabled the nuke command

Apparently all i was missing to have fun was unlocking the SV98. I've been on a sniper run now, and got my kdr solidly above positive, and not by camping and going 3-1 either. I think I single-handedly broke several spawn camp deadlocks on Seine Crossing by just continuously shooting those annoying peaking rocket spammers in the head until they stopped, allowing my team to push out and take the cap point. I also got a 6 kill grenade. Toss nade, wait a sec, and a +960 score pops up. So now I feel better. Mass tank whoring is still annoying as crap, but now that I have a sniper rifle that can actually kill stuff, i can just ignore them for the most part and just shoot people in the head from cover. Now that the TL server has gone to some smaller maps and such I'll have to check it out again.

If you are on the russian side and sniping, go on your side of the river, you have perfect sight down the road that is between B (courtyard - second point US usually gets) and C (East bridge). You can also move a bit to the right and have vision down the corridors at B point. Amazing sniping potential.
And if the enemy controls East bridge, snipe from the other bridge, great spot.

Its not really prestige mode? You dont lose anything at all and its not a choice.
Its just a number underneath the colonel symbol to give a continued sense of progression i guess. Supposedly you get some camo at rank 145 (colonel 100)
