Casters of all shapes and sizes, zombies (draugh or whatever), vampires (never seen one dunno what it looks like lol), werewolves, wolves, summons (atronaches etc.) theres plenty in the game to f**k about with and it can only get better with mods. I am struggling to comprehend how much stuff there is in the game lol. Ive not seen HALF of the things mentioned.

I can spam fire bolts for 1 magicka and fireballs for 3 magicka, makking me able to "Stunlock" any opponent and kill them (The dragon armor set lets me survive the frequest one-shots with bows that i've grown to expect on master, this will get easier with heavy armor perks)
I've come up with a theory, that you could enchant alchemy fortification and then make potions to foritfy enchantment, and continue this cycle until you hit some sort of cap (Or not?) Then you would create a gear specified for smithing, enchanting and alchemy to suppliment, with the smithing gear you'd be able to improve dragonplate armor to give you a ton of armor (Thinking 300+ for the entire set), combined with 50% more armor from perks, you would then enchant double enchantments (From enchanting 100 perk), you could reduce spell cost by 100% quite easily, and enchant your boots/ring (Not sure if you can enchant resistance to necklace) to give you 100% resistance against every spell type, you could swap out ring/Boots with different kind of resistances depending on the opponent in the worst case.
You'd basicly be a god, with free destruction spells, a huge amount of armor and full magic resistance, this is possible even without using the alchemy/enchant cycle. I posted this about 20 pages back. And I don't feel bad about doing it because of how badly other casters and melee would rape me. I spam incinerate with 96% reduced cost and I can go oom. Also now that I know this I'm thinking about min/maxing a caster with perks, seeing how much bang I can get out of everything with being able to skip a bunch of points. Also I have some 234% magicka regen, 51 fire frost lightning resist, and 118 extra magicka.
Beauty of this game is that you can do what you like, you dont HAVE to abuse it :D

So not that much. I wanted to sorta feel like I'm hunting for Game, but it all feels sorta lacking. there's a lot more non-hostile wildlife than there was in oblivion
the hostile wildlife though, is pretty much all the same culprits. only horkers are new so far that've seen, unless you want to count mammoths too.

hard mode oblivion essentially required you to break the game somehow in order to make any progress and given how many times i've been one-hit koed by a two handed hammer it seems that skyrim is comparable, but not as tedious
from how you describe it, it seems this time around instead of become virtually invincible and chip away at the enemies, you become a dps glass cannon instead
that's fine

Throw me a tell if you guys have encountered anything really hard. Ive never been able to kill the dragons with destruction, second or third dragon in main story (kynesgrove?) i got like 15% of its health down and then ran out of magicka, and it doenst really regen fast at all in combat I never used a weapon except to pot shot stunned enemies lol. The first 10 or so levels can be annoying if you find no gear but if you run off to do the winterhold quest asap you end up with a couple game changing mage items (hardly a spoiler as it is the mage college main quest).
What kind of items would those be?

I think the diversity is reasonably good, especially considering that you can encounter 3 or more qualities of the same creature at any one time.
On a side note, anyone know of a big money sink besides buying houses? I'm at 18,000 gold and have absolutely nothing to spend it on.

I don't mind the variety in wildlife Im sure there will be a Martigen Monster similar mod which would add new textures/models for existing baddies and add new ones in, it seems like this game was bigger and more popular than oblivion which means more quality mods hopefully :D.

Oh god i hope so, i spent 5 hours in vanilla oblivion and dropped it.
I installed OOO / MMM and i played it for about 2-3 hours everyday for 2 months up untill skyrim. It made it so awesome.
Imagine what skyrim modders could do...OOO / MMM made the best of a bad situation, Skyrim is already fucking awesome that only really needs a few tweaks (bug / glitch fixes and stronger dragons imo) after that, they just...go to town on a masterpiece! :O

I mean, will it cap you so you are unable to level up that Destruction to the max like you were planning ? No the way it works is there are skills and then there are perks. Skill ranks make doing that thing a bit easier/more effective but perks is where all the real bonuses come from (and these perks are based on skill points from levelling up). A perfect example is smithing. A 100 smithing level will let you improve any armour type and generally to be a very high level of improvement. However even if you can improve things it doesn't mean you can craft things. You need the skill perks to craft stuff like dragon armour or dwarven armour. So you don't lose anything tangibly. However, skills that reach higher ranks provide more exp to your current level. So that means that if all your skills are at level 20 you will level slower than someone who has 2 skills at 100. I have spent some 40 hours in game and only at level 20 almost. I spend a lot of time exploring and I have a number of skills at differing levels and have not farmed skills like smithy whereas other people have. The issue with farming a non combat thing though is that while you are a higher level the combat level is low so you have a hard time fighting people in straight up fights. Thx for the nice response

Appreciate the information thanks.
Hm kind of changes my idea of making a sneaky mage that will do both the college quests and the thieves quests. Meh - i'll make it work.

Bah, why am I accumulating so many potions? Half my inventory weight is made up of potions now. Yet, I don't have the nerve to drop any potions, as I always feel that I might need them in the future. Heck, I had a battle with a frost dragon that forced me to use half my food and potions to take it down.

What do you mean by Skyrim already being fucking awesome? What are the main differences between vanilla Oblivion and Skyrim? I too enjoyed Oblivion immensely after OOO / MMM.
So are you saying Skyrim doesn't require mods? It's playable now even if you thought Oblivion required the level scaling mods etc? Skyrim doesn't have massive scaling? Bandits don't start dropping dragonbone once you hit 20+ lvls?

Tried it, didn't seem to give any XP when just spamming. Try this. You know that one dungeon you go to for the main quest line with the fire spitting from the ground? Get your companion to stand on top of it and heal other or just heal yourself with high rank healing spells. Let me know if it works though, this is just theorycrafting lol.
For Restoration - put Equilibrium in one hand and Fast healing in the other. Then just get used to the timing of the cast. Went from 40 to 60 in about fifteen minutes.

The fight itself seemed anti-climatic, too. I mean, the dragon did 3 things in a loop, the player mindlessly slashed him whenever he came down (for no reason). Dragon fights seemed way more epic in DA:O, which was a turn-based game at heart. He used ~7 potions and had a companion, plus hes only level 8. Id assume the dragons get harder as you level up Because there is no cooldown on it and he had like 25 of them. Besides, how does that make it look better? It was a cakewalk to kill a dragon. So? set a few restrictions for yourself, such as no companions, no potions and no shouts. Or wait for mods. Let me guess, you're one of the NR20 BGH guys. You can't go into Skyrim expecting the game to be tailor made to your personal wonderful way of playing. The game is made for a general audience, what you can go into Skyrim expecting to be able to mod it, or use console commands, or to play with restrictions you put upon yourself(some people are going to draw their own map -_-), etc. That's why Bethesda puts out the modding tools etc, so you can play the way you want. You want a challenge, well then make it challenging, you want a cakewalk, put it on easy and give yourself a sword that 1 shots everyone. Who cares, since its a single player experience. I think the person who has to cut out features and items from the game to make it challenging might care. If Bethesda wasn't so worthless they'd come up with a solution. You know, like a working difficulty slider. But why do that when you can mod stuff in! In fact, why have dragons either, when you can mod them in! Or even better, I can just close my eyes everytime I fight a rat and pretend it's a dragon. When you play it like that it's made for an even wider audience! Wow i can tell neither of you have actually played an elder scrolls game, atleast beyond the first 30 minutes. Theyre extremely complex and absorbing but can be played in a simple way by a casual fan. Thats whats great about the game. You can do whatever you want and play it how you want. Its made for casual fans and hardcore fans at the same time. And yes there is a difficulty slider by the way. Also why the knock on single player games? Not everyone wants to play multiplayer games all the time or wow with nerds messaging you and annoying the crap out of you. Elderscrolls is about the experience and the immersion into the game. Its not about competing or socializing with people its about enjoying a fantastic game. Sorry for those who cant enjoy that.
I played Daggerfall like there was no tomorrow back in the day. I was a fan of the series then. Morrowind was good too. But then came Oblivion and Fallout 3. Both were utter crap. So no, you actually can't tell anything.
Why not? Also what does it being a single-player game have to do with anything? I too like my RPGs being offline.
