All the environmental objects seem really nice, but most of them seem really lame, like crazy unrealistic, but I guess you need to have a bit of give in a game. | ||

EPIC , wait for when you do some raid higher level lol | ||

feel free to friend and send a message if you see me online. always looking for good players to group with. if anyone wants a summary on how the game plays, its core gameplay is like a 3D action game with different leveling systems for character and skills and a RPG like inventory system. the game might play simple at first, but it starts emphasizing teamwork and being able to identify attack patterns and openings to attack with later bosses and starts punishing blind zerging. there isn't an open world and dungeons are instanced. here's a trailer that intros you to the story of Vindictus + Show Spoiler + here's a CG trailer that is kind of but not really similar to the gameplay tutorial that starts up after character creation + Show Spoiler + | ||

I will best describe as a "god of war" like "dungeon" grinder which is different from some of the f2p mmo that I have played. Fun to play. And DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE BOSSES!! Not that particularly easy especially when u have to play through lag. | ||

The game is locally hosted, but everything is sent to the Nexon servers so many games are very laggy. I'm level 26 on West, in game name is Mairu. I'm pretty much done with everything that's out (aside from Titles and AP) unless they open the third area tomorrow so message me in game if you need help with anything. | ||

The game flow is pretty clean tho, haven't noticed any major glitches and the whole collision system is even better than I expected. The asian-styled cutscenes/non-combat scenes and the way the town is handled is great for people like me who just like to hop from one quest to another, you will waste almost no time and get back into the action really quickly. | ||

Some of the fights are challenging solo, I haven't tried hard modes but the gnoll chieftain as Fiona was pretty tough. There's like 5 hallways in the entire game, and the lag is horrendous. As long as it's playable without spending too much money it's worthwhile. Some of the challenges are retarded too, like "get 100 points on this map" and the only way to get bonus points would be to loot a certain item, which doesn't necessarily drop | ||

The Raid boss is so ez a group of good people (meaning my friends lol) can do it in 5 mins lol on hard. The lag is incredibly bad though, its almost game breaking. | ||

Almost every Nexon game I know is like this. When you enter a dungeon with a group you are directly connected with the host. When you are in Town, your on the game server. Besides that, there is no point playing the game on normal. Hard really isn't challenging and I cannot wait until I get Hero mode because its supposed to be much better. I'm surprised there are so many groups playing on norm and not hard. :/ | ||

And I'm playing with people who live 5 minutes from me and have 20mb connections and great computers. I've talked to a lot of other people that have the same issue, again this was not there in Closed beta. In closed beta there was no lag. (And I play with the same people always.) Also we've tried it with people on the same network and a fast connection. The host has no lag, the other person has 1 bar, even tho they are on the same connection. Hopefully they fix it. | ||

The only gripe I have is this: I want more pack space! >_< Ahem. ¬.¬ + Show Spoiler [Proxy/VPN Info] + A note to folks using proxies, though: if they're not High-security/anonymous proxies (and that's assuming they work at all), don't be surprised if they're blocked within 24 hours, by Nexon (even the high-sec/anon ones were being blocked within 72 hours, tops). They're fairly quick about ensuring geo-restricted regions don't get access and my notepad had well over 100 IPs that just won't work any more. On more than a few occasions, I was kicked out of game mid-session, as the IPs were locked out while I was using them. :/ If you have access to a VPN instead of an "HTTPS/Socks proxy," make the VPN your preference (and try to ensure it's already active before you access the website main-page with the login and east/west buttons - or you start getting "you used IP x.x.x.x before, now you're on IP y.y.y.y" warning messages that lock you down over a couple of days. :S). That and the lag via HTTPS was noticeable (unsurprisingly) and pretty damn annoying. Last but not least: thanks to iLLusive for the beta keys a few of us used. Cheers! =) | ||

3rd boats, lvl cap from 26 to 38, enhancing items released, fishing, etc. The titles are very tedious. For example beat 500 spiders with bombs, Beat Tyrant Bear 50 times on Macha Difficulty Up, Beat Tyrant Bear with spears 50 times, Poke Tyrant Bears eye out 30 times, use a certain skill 300-500 times, kill gnolls with objects 25 times etc. Way too repetitive. You will be grinding for titles more so than levels. Leveling comes easy; titles don't. First you have to discover/unlock the said titles as well. It is very annoying. Once you unlock all your chars skills you can mix and choose combos to your likening, but still the game is far too repetitive. | ||

And while I'm here, Ninja Gaiden Black is pretty much the best hack-n-slasher EVER made. Soooo hard, and yet so much room for skilled play. I can go through levels that friends of mine couldn't get halfway through with full potions, and barely take a hit. Wow, i want to go play it again now. :-( | ||

On the OTHER hand Fiona is AMAZING at mass combat like in the "Friends?" mission her range on her 4 hit smash attack from a good angle can clear out a whole group of 10+ veterans and keep them from beating on the Lanns while they do a ton of damage. She's also really great for holding the attention on bosses and with her great dodge roll mobility taking pretty much no damage. Just a little frustrating that if I join a party I'm basically just along for the ride until we reach a boss the most I can really do is grab one of the big guys and instakill him against a wall or something. | ||

The more I play I can see why they restrict it to their region. This whole p2p instance dungeon thing is laggy as shit. I've only ever had 1 lag free game with a friend from AU, and then our 2nd run lagged (probably the server). Oh well its kinda fun. Good thing Perpetuum OB is Monday though. Dont think this game was something you could play for very long. Oh btw im on West now. Silly me I failed at directions west is actually closer lol. | ||

Your job as fiona is to run ahead of the lanns to the fomorian sealed rooms and clear as many opponents with counter and amaranth as possible. Lann takes out random small trash mobs faster than you, so go to the areas where you'll have 3-4 mobs to yourself to maximize the amount of rape you do. The drawback of having to run back to loot is kinda annoying, but as you progress you'll be able to tell which loot you want to go back for given what your allies are getting. | ||

When I opened counterstrike/team fortress 2, my ping would be 400+, and I wouldn't be able to play. I ran scans and it said there was a problem with the installer/uninstaller, and that it had a virus. So I decided not to play ;___; </3 (If you know how to fix this, a quick message would be nice ♥) When I did play though, it was sooooo just... ♥♥♥ Closed beta there was like, no lag, and it was super fun. Wish I had gotten to play more and wasn't such an FPS-addict. | ||

SC2 wasn't too bad but it was really, really laggy. After a few ping/latency tests, I figured it was only my on account of my computer, and the browser I use was still working just as quickly. So I did a virus scan of the whole computer, and it said that Vindictus was an infected file. This has happened before, too. I wanted to play League of Legends or whatever and I couldn't(well, I could, but I didn't want to keep it cause it screwed up my counterstrike).. So, I don't know what's up. D: | ||

When you download Vindictus you get some irritating and unrelated program which uses all your upload. Maybe that is the cause of the high ping. Check your processes. | ||

If you dont get why this is amazing let me spell it out for you. Spam her magic arrow spell until you're nearly out of stamina. Then use any opportunities to melee attack to continue to do damage while your stamina is regenerating. Go back to magic arrow, this will give a knockdown on any opponent very very quickly. Use firebolt when they're knocked down if on cooldown spam magic arrow or melee+smash depending on stamina levels. Again this will knock the enemy down again pretty quickly. Stand there and dont care if the enemy hits you because you absorb it... As you get farther on you actually have to dodge stuff but lann and fiona both have to stop doing damage at certain points... Evie doesn't. So if you're good at being mobile and figure out the rhythm she blasts out pretty much constant DPS... it's sick kind of broken expect it to be nerfed. edit: I solod gnoll chieftain level 9, hard mode wearing the rookie gear and the starting staff with Evie... and it wasnt even that hard. She provided knockdowns with firebolts and the magic arrows so quickly it was amazingly easy. Ohh and she knocked off his helmet too... | ||

If you want to prep your Evie for battle scythes rank your stamina recovery (really important spell for soloing) a few times get your cloth mastery to E or D (if you want to wear Sweetie Bear set which gives better def, str, agil, wil; E is for Broken Ash which gives you better Int which gives you a lot more damage) and start maxing your magic mastery asap. Evie takes a buttload of AP to get her EX skills, so doing a solid build becomes much more important. You really got to choose whether or not you want to go for damage (battle scythe) or more of a support role (staff). Later on she can transform into a Paladin or a Dark Knight which has a one hour cooldown and breaks all your armor on the spot, but gives you 0 cooldown and makes your damage that much better. | ||

While staff Evie is kind of slow, it gets even better than what you're stating once you hit 30 and get the SP: Blind Arrow skill. It only costs 2 SP bars and does a ridiculous amount of damage. A few Fire Bolts on a boss/group of mobs usually almost fills up 2 SP bars, so you can use it somewhat often. She seems kind of powerful at the start but towards the middle of the current level range she gets less impressive and even more slow, but then gets a bump at 30. She's got a lot of powerful attacks but her weakness is not that she's squishy (because her Magic Shield is pretty powerful) but that she's just slower than both Fiona and Lann. This probably will all change tomorrow though with the addition of Scythe, which from the skill list seems amazingly good and will likely be what the majority of Evie players choose. | ||

Well obviously you can solo Gnoll Chieftain at level 9 because every character starting from level 1 up until level 10 can use infinite Goddess Graces (instant full hp revive) I doubt you or many people can actually solo it at level 9 without losing a life. | ||

I'm wondering if I should be able to Sprint at will. So far I've only been able to do what I think is a sprint... seemingly at random after a long period of running around. What I think is sprinting is faster running with a constant stamina drain. Any pro tips would be welcome. | ||

Does anyone still play this? I started up again about a month and a half ago. They have set in some major patches for this in the NA version, so I'll post a few of the major ones to garner some attention maybe: - To start, they released a new character (one that's been in the KR servers for a while now): Karok. Collosal hulking dude that swings around a pillar and can do unarmed combat. - There was a big staff Evie update, (almost) complete overhaul of her skillset. She can't melee with her staff anymore, it's replaced with magic arrow. Right click activates focus, which she can channel longer to cast higher tier spells. Two new spells Ice Blast and Ice Spear; Blind Arrow is no longer an SP skill, etc. - Tokens are officially removed from the game. Grind away folks - New content. I don't remember what was released back in April, but I'll be safe and say that there are now Rocheste boats leading to Fomorian Base and the Sewers, the current end game places. - Next week (July 13) they are releasing another patch featuring episode 8 part 1. Some new raids gettin released - Level 70 is the new level cap. However, you have access to all of the end battle quests at 61. - They redid the transformation scheme a little bit. They also released 2nd transformation (transform again whilst in transformed state). Kinda cool I think that about sums up most of what's happened since the last post. @Hakker: Yeah I'm not really a huge fan of the only-instanced gameplay either. I think that making the game open-world would be a huge challenge though. Also, there is a 1v1 PvP system currently in game that I forgot to mention (aka dueling). It's not too shabby of a system, but there are some major downsides to it as of right now: - You can only duel someone in a battle quest/instance. I mean once you clear a map it's safe to duel, but the fact that you can only duel people in other battles right now (including fishing boat btw but that space is rather limited) is kind of a turn off. - When you lose a duel by death... you actually die. It's not a major hindrance or anything, but I still think that it's a terrible idea lol I don't duel that much to I can't really comment on the balance, but I think that it's iffy at best right now. Hopefully they release some nicer PvP oriented things in the future (: | ||
