Not really sure how guild wars work - so you declare war on another guild and can kill their members anywhere outside of cities? On a pve server you cannot pk people and gvgs are optional, you have to accept the gvg if another guild declares on you. On a pvp server you can go hostile and pk anyone outside of the starting area and gvgs are forced, if another guild declares on you you have no choice and must pay gold to forfeit if you dont want to gvg.

Oh that inability to decline GvG on a pvp server seems pretty interesting to me. Maybe I'll stick on Lake of Tears and find a guild here, or transfer to MT if there are people rolling on that server.
Thanks for the help guys, and let me know if you're on either server and are into pvp!

this is for people on MT:
a friend and i are looking for people for a static to do/learn mchm with. we'd started attempts a while ago but 2 members from our previous group quit just as we got going and we've been stuck in limbo for about a month now. we need a healer and a dps, possibly 2 since our other friend has gotten kind of busy recently.
gearwise as long as you are above 156 we will take you, but dps will need to have a +12 weapon as well.
experience is nice but i'm not going to require it, as mentioned above we were still working on clearing before our group fell out. this means the first bit will still be learning runs, so even if you've never done it before feel free to join. i do require you to have cleared mcnm at least a few times however, just so you know how stuff works / looks like so you are prepared for hm. if you haven't, we won't mind taking you through nm a few times if you promise to stick around afterwards for hm.
schedule can be figured out once we have everyone, we will try for 2-3 days a week and go from there. loot will also be decided on consensus when we have 5 people. once we start clearing with ease we can move on to bigger and badder things, like dying to cof mark3 cyclops rock toss and mouth beams.
post, pm, or find me ingame(kakumei.shoujo). thanks for reading.
also, the two of us are looking for someone to do/learn/getbeatdownbyvmteams in 3v3 with. +12 conjunct required.

Oh you are level 29 already
I do want to play on the PvP server, but I can't make up my mind as to which class I want to play.

Hah I was leveling with a few friends during the weekend. I also tried out lancer and mystic and decided I'm OK with my archer.
Def let me know if you roll on Lake of Tears.

Are warriors really bad at pvp?
|
I haven't done any pvp yet. But from what I understand warriors and lancers are good on any team due to their cc/control and mobility.
I loved to run RMP and RLS comps in wow (if you know what that means), and I assume warriors would behave similarly to the rogue in that kind of setup.

Warriors can sort of be thought of like the rogues of WoW, though they have a lot of the Warrior skills. They get Backstab (Shadowstep + Cheap Shot), Cascade of Blows (Prot warrior Shockwave), and Mace Spec stun on Combo Attacks. I imagine Warrior, Sorc, Mystic would be RMP but I wouldn't know D:.

As an archer I would definitely want to team with either a lancer or warrior for the peels.
EDIT: According to forums, everyone thinks archers suck in arena too. And for PvE. Heh.

Well if Warriors are bad in PvP I should play something else... maybe ANOTHER MYSTIC? LOL. Not sure if I am masochistic enough to do this yet.

I think warriors are pretty cool with their 3(?) skills that have invulnerability frames. Reminds me of using Vanish to dodge spells in Wow.

Vanish was the most bugged spell in the game. I haven't played since cataclysm but I wouldn't be surprised if it's still bugged.

Then there was rogue vs rogue duels where you could apparently vanish a Blind, upon which something completely random happens. Then there was the fact that it would sometimes fail for absolutely no reason what so ever.

Well, the way it looks right now:
Definitely no: Priest, Archer, Warrior, Zerker
Maybe: Slayer, Sorc, Lancer, (another) Mystic
I have a lvl 23 Mystic on MT, but it's a Castanic Mystic and it is visually unpleasing. Maybe I will try a Slayer or Lancer.

Some think they are boring, because limited ammount of chained skills (pretty much everything chains to overhand strike), but some think it's very challenging class. They don't have block and only 1 dodge (with only 1 glyph to reset cd with like 30% chance, which almost no one is using at lvl 60 anyway), so no room for mistake. They are ok for pvp, although they were nerfed the most during last year and they are very good class for PvE too, solo and groups.

Hmmm... I guess I will do a Lancer. After getting a Mystic to lvl 60... how hard can this be? LOL.
"Classification" on MT.

Apparently you can't server transfer to or from LoT. Guess I'm staying here for good.

Also does LoT actually have people?
