The bastards are clever though, cuz there's nowhere on either frogster or tera site where you can cancel your subscription. Since frogster are notorious for their crappy customer service, I asked paypal to block future transactions made by frogster. I e-mailed frogster aswell.
Status update on this.
Paypal has got to be the best bankservice in the world. 1 day after i filed a complaint they blocked frogster from taking money from me in the future as well as giving me a refund. LOL!
So after the most recent 'incident' in Sinestral Manor, where some Gladiator guy who was missing for half the dungeon suddenly turned up, pulled a whole room at once, killed the whole group and then started shitting on me for not properly tanking it, I come here to ask; how do you properly tank as a Lancer? Because - surprise - I'm not a 100% sure since I'm just lvl 26 and this is my first character.
All the explanation I got was "taunt + right click or go play pokemon", but I have the feeling that there (hopefully) is a little more to it.

Use high dps moves and only block before you get hit. Taunt if someone else gets aggro. Do not hold block the whole time and rely on your taunt for aggro cause this wont work as you get higher in level and you meet more competent dps. "taunt + right click or go play pokemon" could not be more incorrect unless you want your dps tanking for you.
If you dont learn how to tank decently well while you are leveling, then you will learn the hard way when you hit lvl 60 and the DPS skyrockets.
I've only tanked with a warrior before the RE/tanking revamp so I can't comment on exactly which moves you should be using, but you can probably figure those out pretty easily.

To add to the good advice that nota already posted, I will say that you need to adjust your pulling speed depending on how geared your DPS are. Take the first few pulls in each dungeon slow (assuming a pick-up group) then ramp up if they kill very quickly. When you're running with overgeared DPS, they can be pretty self-sufficient, so your main job becomes making sure you line up pulls as efficiently as possible (bear in mind that a lot of trash in dungeons can be skipped). Lancer rotation is very straightforward for the most part, especially since you don't have very many moves. If whatever you're fighting isn't doing much damage to you, you can block less and use shield barrage/spring attack more often.

Same principles for any MMORPG of this type. Get to a questing hub, pick up every quest. If you're leveling solo, do not do any BAM quests. Quests that require you to turn in gathered mats (ore, fibers, essences) are worthless unless you already have the mats in your inventory. Before you leave the hub, check to see where each quest's objective is, and plan your travel route accordingly to hit the objectives in a circle, looping back at the hub. Use the unstuck feature and safe haven scrolls liberally to cut down on travel time.
There are some areas/quest hubs you can probably skip. On both of my characters, I skipped Tuwangi Mire, Pirate Grotto (near Cutthroat Harbor), and probably a few more. Generally speaking, if you're at least two levels higher than the mobs, you should just move on because the quest experience won't be proportionate to your level.
Thanks guys. I had heard this game's leveling was a grind so I was wondering if it was something like "lvl 20-26 grind mushrooms, 27-40 dungeons, 40-50 zombies", etc.

Nah, not at all. First off, until 30, there's no grind to speak of. You basically race through the zones if you just pick up all the quests and clear zones. There was someone stating earlier that the grind started around 30, for me, I'm 35 and there's still no grind to speak of but I'm pretty good about clearing whole areas before moving on so maybe that's the way I play.
Mind you, grinding could potentially be quicker depending on your class/killspeed/survivability.
One of the thing that surprises me is how little reuse of models and textures there is. Again, speaking 1-35ish, maybe later on.
As I understand it the grind doesn't really hit until you get max level and have to grind out reputation.
the grind starts to really show at around 54/55, tough if you're familliar with korean mmo's it's still much easier then those, just keep qeueing for instances, they give a nice amount of xp (specially combined with the quests for said instances)
Unless it changed from release, somewhere between 49-51 you have to grind something because there's no quests and 56-58 there's no quests either. Least from what I remember.

When i hit 60 there were tons of quest to do from 56-60 i still have a ton that need to get finished so as far as endgame you will have left over quest that need to get done. As well Dailies and Nexus, and all the ACHM, and MCHM and coming next tera patch will be 10-20 man raids so there alot coming in store for Tera ill link the patch in my edit but it looks amazing espically with the Faction that you can join with you guild
Edit: this is what they're getting ready to release possibly next, next patch.
there's going to be three factions dividing the world and we're free to join whatever faction we wants to as a guild. (this is very guild friendly contents, so there will be a temp guild for those without one)
each guild will gain points thru their members doing daily, stealing resources from other alliances, killing other alliance members. The points will accumulate and recorded for each season. Guild leader of the highest points will become the Governor who has the right to tax the entire continent.
Governor can also assign other guild leaders to be a task force leader or quartermaster which would increase the chance to enchant and craft (I dont know and they prolly havent decided exactly what so dont ask !)
the trailer above shows the scene where their task force leader sneaks into enemy base with invisible potion, avoiding see invis wards, and summons the entire raid to his location. The defending town can use machines and cannons!
there will also be fancy items like flag which buffs anyone nearby and masks for elite players in the alliance also, each alliance has their own instance which we can use to earn money, farm resources and fight green monsters ;p
Just dled Tera a few days ago, am enjoying it so far! Is there a TL guild atm? And has anyone encountered the issue where you cannot access one of your characters? Like everything else works, other characters, options, etc, but for that one character the character select screen stops responding if you click play for that character.

I am more inclined to believe the guy who says 5 days to max level if you put some serious playtime into it. But maybe after Ragnarok nothing is grindy any more.. Aion was barely grindy, a month or so for max level, whereas GW2 took 12 days, and it was my very first time playing the game, without info....but I guess I'll see. So server suggestions, and class suggestions if I want a good pvp char that can also be good solo pve but also a real asset in group pve? Does race really matter?
I played RO for years and this didn't feel grindy at all to me. Took me a little under 6 days of playtime to max out.
so my game has been buggy as shit since that latest small patch, after logging in i black screen for a few minutes and then i cant enter a server, has this been happening to anyone else?

Theres one on Tempest Reach and one on Mount Tyrannas
Open world PvP - Meaning i can attack anyone when i damn well please, right? (provided im on a pvp server) and is there an incentive to do this, so people are actually out fighting eachother in the world, because this is one of its biggest attractions to me, even just areas outside of town where people commute to duel or something is fun.
How is the endgame pve / pvp? Pvp is semi-competitive? (for an MMO) and the PvE? does TERA have raids and decent content? Im happy grinding gear all day long but i want PvP and some group PvE
Also, fastest levelling classes and the most fun in your opinions? Always have loved healer classes, worth playing if solo levelling?
