Isn't that just a little bit over the top? 27gb here installed. I think when you see it, you won't be that surprised. There's obviously content reused, but for an mmo, it really gives you a feel the environments are fast and unique. Then again, I only played until lvl26 so far, so that's hardly long enough to judge properly.

Maybe it's just part of the install/download process or something.. still haven't finished patching it, it's been like 6 hours lol

Worth it though imho. One of the things I like best about the game is that it's hardly reliant on learning or theory-crafting. I'm sure late game'll be min-maxing like every mmo, but for now it's great to just play.

You can fill out the gloves/shoes options by buying abyss or nexus gear (which is now BoE). You might need to farm a little bit, but even just doing dailies nets an easy 500g (or three to four times that for subscribers), and grinding regular mobs can net 300-800g/hr. Once you have a little bit of gear, you can lowman dungeons for MES and alkahest. For accessories, it's pretty important to get sockets as soon as possible. Rings and earrings can vary wildly in price, but you can either do the reputation grinds (Fraywind Canyon BGs or specific factions, see the player guides section on the official forums) or just buy them off the broker when you spot a good deal. Buy a practicum necklace as soon as possible (extremely cheap) then do Sirjuka Gallery/Crucible of Flame for a better necklace. Talking to friends who quit right before or after the Argon Queen updates started, the landscape of gearing out has changed a lot to where you can be ready for ACHM/MCNM in about a week or less after hitting 60. edit: I'm also still looking for at least one or two more people who play starting from around 2 AM PST for my dungeon static. Non-warrior melee DPS is preferred, but I wouldn't mind trying out a good warrior or archer. Or, if there's a super-solid lancer out there, I can catch my slayer up on gear and play that instead of lancer. We're all around ilvl 152-155 right now, but I expect to get some upgrades over the weekend. edit2: Tempest Reach for server, sorry.

When you hit 60, you should have about 5-6k gold just from the leveling process. You can get a t14 +9 equivalent weapon and bodypiece from either Jax Trust (melee rewards, new faction in Cutthroat Harbor) or Unified Theory Institute (ranged rewards, new faction in Allemantheia). You'll lack the potential for a double/triple bonus (like x2 attack speed on a weapon or x3 boss damage on a body), but the stats, ilvl boost, and special bonuses on the body make them more than sufficient for starting out. Without rep boosts, it'll take about 5 days for either the body or the weapon, but this is a far more affordable option and still less time-consuming than nexus (due to the reputation constraints on Agnitor gear). If you do have the time, you can just grind out enough gold to buy t14 pieces across the board. You can fill out the gloves/shoes options by buying abyss or nexus gear (which is now BoE). I'd initially leveled a slayer to 60 with a friend, but then we realized we wanted a static tank, so I took a lancer from 1-60 in five days. We bought up some t13 gear and +6/+9'd it to get ready to hit AC/MC; just need some socketed accessories and then I think we'll be good to go. It kind of sucks having to learn how to tank while we're also learning instances, but lancer is pretty easy to play at a basic level. If anyone plays melee DPS around super-late-night PST, our static could use a 5th on Tempest Reach as well. Playtimes vary a little bit but we're typically online from 2-3 AM PST to 6-8 AM PST. Our setup is lancer/priest/sorc/sorc. He plays on Tempest Reach.
