there are no mirrors, you have to download the launcher and the game will download via the launcher.
It'll take 8-24 hours.
my fastest speed was around 270kb/s and the game is about 22gigs.

OT: :< You shouldn't play WoW like that but if you want to play like that then you it's definitely not a game for you And about fun stuff I meant PvP, guild events, Raids WITH GUILD and hanging out with friends aka outdoor pvp gank/"war" or other such things. ^^ These things are way different every time I do them in my opinion and have been alteast for me for ~5-6yrs. to topic: What kind of PvP is planned in Tera online? Been decided yet? Mostly thinking if its something like big RvR battles, just duels, mass zergfest, siege fights etc. E: Fucked up codes. Tried to fix as much as possible :d
From what I gather PvP is similar to Lineage 2, its just you have to go into the high level continent to do it? you can capture cities and become king (I'd imainge in a similar vein to holding castle's in L2) which will allow you to tax people who buy stuff in your city etc. At least I think that was Tera...
So large open wars over territory as well as smaller scale duels etc afaik.

im assuming server maintenance is going on?

Currently playing Tera OBT on the Korean servers. The game plays smooth even though the servers are thousands of miles away.
Haven't really gotten to the PvP but the gameplay itself is pretty amazing. It is Hack n Slash bought to a whole new level. Currently level 10 sorc and 10 ranger. Honestly I have to experiment with things to learn the game because I can not read Korean. Even though I have this downside, the first ten levels of the game are beautiful and breathtaking. Sadly its the last 10 levels of the game that I'm more concerned with.
Will edit this post with new findings and such later on.

I am so jacked for this game! I have been looking for something to bring me back to some good ol PvP like the Ultima Online days! Hopefully this comes out sooner rather than later!

would anyone let me try out their account to see if I can run the game before KOBT ends?

So how much you've played wow actually? Tell us what grind you have to do there.
your first sentence in the post already lets me know you have read nothing in this thread which is reason enough to not answer your quote being that you care nothing about learning anything from this game

I remember hearing about this game a while back. I think some people just get excited over things too easily though. Graphics are nice, there's fuzzy race, horned race( that the real furries play), demon race, huge ass weapons, and I'm sure a bunch of other common junk people flock to. Frankly those things don't mean anything to me if the gameplay engine and gameplay design, and replay-ability, economy, strategy, etc aren't all in good or great shape.
Personally, the main thing I want in a MMO"RPG" at this time is one where the PvP is open and nearly or completely unrestricted (except potentially in like towns), and if it's only for certain server(s) then have it unable to transfer/jump servers. The main reasoning for this request is because I am completely sick of bots farming like crazy and having nothing to do about it. It's not the only way to deter or remove bots but PvP like that has other purposes as well.
Does Tera have server jumping, or does PvP server have safe PvE zones or PK penalties?

Putting this in spoiler because it isn't on topic:

From lvl40 and on you needed a day+ per level. People forget how wow was in vanilla without any xp gaining tweaks blizzard added later on. Now everyone has 8 chars on realm they play. And every time people make alts they rush them throu the game to max level with massive support from earlier characters (think about unlimited gold at lower levels, gear/weapons/bags).
Make a char on a new realm where you don't have any support and you will be leveling at least a month or 2 till you hit the max level (whatever it may be by now). Its the same situation with new MMO's as it was with vanilla wow (which was the best btw).
The thing I like about Tera is that you actually need to aim at a target to hit it, the combat aspect of the game is gonna require so much more skill than wow. 0 Support, and i hit max lvl in 6 days, completely geared for ICC in 9. Its not hard at all, you get ALL the gold you need from quests. 6 days /played? Thats 144h total divide by 30days = 4.8h per day. And you want to say thats not hardcore grinding? Besides... - Questhelper - Mount @lvl20 - More xp gained from lvl20-60 (something like that) - More xp gained with the "yellow items" (shoulders which are bind on account or something) - Current wow economy enables you to get a very good amount of gold and fast. Mining copper and selling overpriced at AH, there are always alts ready to buy the overpriced lowlevel goods to speedlevel professions. - No true PvP from lvl40-60 (unlike in vanilla) - Outland should be empty lvl60-70 - Northrend (lvl70-80) should also be empty now that Cata is released (I myself haven't played past Algalon) Those things make it so much easier its not even comparable to vanilla. Where you had a true experience of a mmo. And now with the recycled content I don't get why people are still hooked on to the game. Besides the regular chat with guild mates the game has nothing new to offer what you haven't seen already. sorry for going off topic, this far. of course not 6 days played, 6 days irl, 2 days played. I don't know if you are being sarcastic, but no one can go 1-80 in two days /played. Sorry. I played WoW for a long time and you're just not presenting actual information. Even with the massively easy leveling system implemented these days, what you're saying just isn't possible. With mob tagging, xp gear, and recruit a friend bonus, maybe you can get close to this level, but what you're claiming - 1 to 80 with "no support" - is completely impossible.
Back to topic, I just applied for the Beta of this game, and really hope I am accepted. I would like to hear a little more about the level of immersion though, from those of you who have played the game. I think what most people feel WoW is missing from its vanilla days is the level of immersion, which is broken by raid/PvP queues, over-instancing, cross-server interaction, etc., and I think this is the bigger issue at stake in a new MMORPG.
Questions: a. What are the zones like? Immersive, varied, consistent in style/lore? b. Is the world fluid? i.e. are there loading screens, too much teleportation/fast travel, zoning, phasing? c. And not related to immersion, but important: Is there a balance in the classes? Does each feel important? and how challenging is group play? What are the maximum sized raids?

High Warlord/Grand Marshal PvP title. + Show Spoiler +I'm not comparing the new content stuff because thats not what wow is supposed to be. When new expansions are released first 1-2 months its what the game is supposed to be!!! 2-3 months later the game gets dumbed down/ bosses nerfed for the average joe to be able to beat the content.

Thanks in advance.

They have mentioned server rifting so that guilds can fight each other/expand across servers. There are dedicated PVP and PVE servers, to my knowledge, PVP servers are free pk zones, everywhere. PVE zones have designated PVP areas so theres no griefing while running around in the field. PK penalties have been confirmed, but no details on how yet. Lots of speculation of just EXP loss etc, but a lot of people want the drop a item when you die (which i personally find to be bullshit but w/e)

Last night after reading over this thread I was consumed with having to find out more info on the NA release!
For the people who are wondering about where the game is at in North America, I did find out a bit and ill source my info when I have some time but i just got home.. so give me a bit.
From what I read, it looks like some stress testing and close beta in North America is a 2011 summer with open beta happening after that. ( I could be wrong, i'll look for some more info tonight) From there were looking at a Oct, Nov release date, from what I understood.
I'll update you guys later when i browse some more forums. ps. the info i found this on was based off of admin postings on the NA tera website
