I'd really like a dedicated server to pop up. For me there's little motivation to play single player now, and I need to know I"m contributing to some greater TL world.

Am I the only one that plays "hardcore" survival mode? That is, if your character dies, you have to start a new save. I just died after pushing it too far when I found a monster spawner, I'm so sad ;_;

I think this is a pretty common occurrence, especially if you tunnel to try to escape and find more caverns.

*shudders at hours lost in caves*


I started out by randomly drilling into the side of a mountain, and then making a straight staircase (with stairs) down, turning it around a few times. After getting maybe 50-60 squares down, I hit a massive cave system that eventually led right back up to the ground - on the other side of the mountain that I drilled into at the start (Which is good, because I wasn't able to find my staircase again otherwise).

Ok, so I guess 40+ people is enough justification for me. I'll see what I can set up over the weekend. Going to wait until I know if there's an update tonight or not before I set something up, just in case something major like biomes is added... make sure there aren't any glaring bugs like last update :o

I think the guy that made it said to make the ceiling at least 3x high so that the mob jumping AI doesn't mess up, and that the half blocks were to make it easy to enter the water but hard to get out of the water.

That's all the info I have, but I can relay my own experiences from building it

Make the lanes of water first. It's a pain to adjust the other dimensions constantly as you add lanes of water.

Also, lanes can be made easily on a level plane using water and half blocks. The water will flow naturally in one direction until it stops. At the stopping point add another line of half blocks and then another line of water. The other method (that I started off with first) was to put the water on a slope, which required a lot more digging because the trench would be 5 blocks deep by the time it got to the pit.

Building the lanes with those half-blocks also means it's incredibly easy to add another spawn level on top of your first if you want to expand, since trenches only have to be 1 block deep.



I think the problem with traps right now are that mobs despawn when you are not around.
So you have to sit and wait around your trap... right?

Yeah, I was sad about that. I made a little holding cell for a mob with a window that I could look into, but when I left the area and came back, he was gone

Not really, when im working on stuff, i can still go over to my trap and sometimes find some gunpower and stuff in it. That is, before i removed it. Im gonna make a tower dedicated to monster farming some day.

Now, about a TL server, it'd be fun, but keep in mind that multiplayer is VERY buggy and many of the features of singleplayer doesnt work. Redstone works, but very rarely, minecarts dont, and you will sometimes find yourself trying to mine out the same block 10 times because it doesnt register properly, on top of that, there's the lag. But yeah, go ahead and start up a server, I'd love it for whenever I dont want to go singleplayer ^^

Awesome! You might want to contact OP so he edits in your data once your done (I'm not sure if he posted recently). I think you could also contact an administrator for that, but I'm not sure if they edit other persons posts like that.

I’m sorry about the lack of updates.

Most my time these days is taken up by meetings and lawyers, accountants, banks, potential partners, potential employees, and the occasional interview. The few hours I do have to develop the game every now and then are mostly spent on looking into bugs and replying to emails.

All this non-development work will result in a much nicer working environment, with talented people helping out with development, an actual office, and a much better way to deal with support issues, bug reports and feature requests.

It’s a good thing I didn’t know how much work setting up a company would be when I started doing it..

The status right now is that we’re up to four people confirmed, and we’re talking to several people. We almost got an office, but they wanted us to sign up for three years, which seems a bit like a gamble for a startup. So we’re still looking for an office.

I know some people feel let down by the lack of updates. I’m sorry.

But I am working. Hard. =)

you should make a whitelist of people who post in this thread so people don't come in and grief. also get hey0s mod because it has the /home command which is REALLY usefull in getting around. it lets you explore wihtout getting lost.

Minecraft doesn't activate enough blocks to make anything remotely as sophisticated as modern game in it unfortunately.

That would be cool if it was possible though.

Is it just me or... FUCKING LAVA MAGMA ALL THE TIME LOSE MY DIAMONDS.

In my world the underground system is fucking huge, I have unlimited supply of all ores, literally. It's almost like show me the money is on. But it comes with a price: Lava EVERYWHERE. It's really annoying. Ima start going down there with pure tools so it doesn't matter if I die, but losing the ores suck even though I have plenty of them.
