my concern with diablo isn't that it has WoW-level graphics, it is that the game doesn't look anything like d2 used to, there are no rooms made of blood and torture chambers with dead bodies all over the place, it doesn't feel threatening anymore, it feels just like an adventure instead. | ||

For me its when ppl saying that diablo 2 was really dark, when infact it was a lot less dark than diablo 1. Also when I look at diablo 3 it appears to be darker than diablo 2. I believe people are comparing the way they remember feeling when they were playing diablo 2 to the way they perceive diablo 3 to be from a screenshot. I mean if youre comparing the act1 outside area of diablo 3 to hell of diablo 2 you are retarded. Compare it to blood moor, cold plains, stoney fields, or half the other areas in d2 act 1 which isnt even at all dark. I remember sc2 screenshots and videos and I wasnt unimpressed but I was no where near as impressed with the graphics as I was when I first started playing. Keeping this in mind and what I have seen already I am ready to be amazed. | ||

Compare it to blood moor, cold plains, stoney fields, or half the other areas in d2 act 1 which isnt even at all dark. disagree here. outside of maybe the desert parts of act 2 D2 constantly had a very dark feel to it. and imho desolated plains with bloody corpses evryhwere ,skeletons+zombies running around at night with rain etc qualify pretty well for "dark". also its the whole artstyle. d2 looked dark with all the dark / greyish colors used,gritty look and very little lighting. while d3 so far more looks like torchlight. even if there are meanie bloody things, if they are done in a comicish artstyle with wowish graphics and plenty of rainbow colors and sparkles then they could just as well be not there at all. dont get me wrong, i will buy d3 and i dont call doomsday or anything. but i can very well understand where the complains are coming from. | ||

Ya but I havent seen anything shiney sparkly rainbow in diablo 3 yet. I havent seen any comicish artstyle wowish graphics either. Diablo 3 looks more like diablo 2 than wow. Also diablo 2 has lots and lots of bright colors in its artstyle, its the mood that is dark. Also there is no "desolated plains" and skeletons and zombies running around at night w/ rain, this is the same in diablo 3. Diablo 3 is very dark, unless youre talking about magical spells. Isnt stuff like lightning, fire, and magical glow suppose to be bright? It was in diablo 2. The big difference is the fact that it has better lighting, which makes dark and light stand out from one another better. Anyway thats all im gonna say. I suggest looking at diablo 2 and diablo 3 side by side. | ||
