For those who don´t know it, if you like towerdefence games, or have to much time (like when SC2 beta is down
) go check it out. It seem to be as good as the predecessors.Protector IV

1) It seems like you have to get ranged units though (magic seems to > regular ranged also), because of the air units, and how unit leveling works. Having a melee only hero seems pretty fail. 2) After you get items that can change element, it seems best to stick with 2-3 heroes so they get high level fast. 3) currently cant pass this one level where they are two bosses with regen and absorb (7k and 9k health), they seem to regen faster than my combined tower dps. My setup for that level is mostly wizard/archwizard/augment(some golem like melee unit). 4) is there a specific skill for both yourself and for your heroes that you should get first? I've been getting Loot/Wisdom for myself and maxing Magic for my heroes (I have mostly magic type units)

I've been getting Loot/Wisdom for myself and maxing Magic for my heroes (I have mostly magic type units) 1) Yeah in most maps you need ranged units, but there are some units with the anti air skill, one of those and you can make melee unit work pretty well. Pure Range or pure magic is a bit easier, because you only have to level 1 type of units. 2) yeah since you can only take 3 heroes into each map its smart to level 1-2 strong heroes and swap thier elements, but you can also play a lot different with many different heroes you take for different maps (for later playthroughs where you know the maps and want an atrificial challange) 3) there are a few different ways to beat those kind of enemies. a) use cripple(reduce max hp) or poison(damage over time) b) place some archmages at the end and skill teleport, if done properly those bosses can hardly reach the exit and you can widle them down eazily c) just place fewer units and let them level higher so they do more damage + in this case 1 archmage with pure poison d) train on other level and com back when you and your heroes are stronger 4)-on heroes you should almost always get thier damage skill first (e.g: on a hero with wizard and archwizards get magic use to max) -wisdom is useless because even maxed you only get 40% more xp but used a hell lot of xp just to get there(better use many items with wisom on them since you can swap those) -tactic is also nice so you can upgrade them faster -leadership reduces cost also nice -specialism is ok but only on those heroes who have poison slow or debuff etc unit which you actually use(but most of the time the basic time on the specials is enough) -logistics is nice if you want to place your advanced units early or mass units -element is quite nice since it increses the damage against waves which are weak/ strong to your element On yourself, leadership if you need a new hero , merchantile is quite useless imho since you get enough gold and player xp is precious, loot is quite ok, wisdom i find useless since you take forever to get the xp you spend to get 1 point wisdom back, charm and tactic quite useless in my eyes, focus on you main damage (magic /melee/ range), and on the element of you main hero . Once your done with the the storyquests you could focus on getting the skills for the talent but i would delay that till the extra map pack arrives.
