Derek Fisher: facing zone, gotta practice swinging my arms into people's faces. *Looks in mirror* ok, pretend to be surprised when I'm called for a foul. Need to wave my arms more in shock...
Phil Jackson: how can I creatively backhandedly point out the free throw disparity?
Ron Artest: How can I piss off Phil Jackson and make the media pay more attention to me?
Lamar Odom: mmm, candy
Pau Gasol: Me gusta el pelo de Robin. Que acondicionador el usa?
*Kobe practices more catch and shoots* I have a great feeling about this game
LOL Especially the Fisher one :D

Aha. You need something for Bynum though.

Lakers bench = fail?
How can lakers lose with kobes statline in the last two games?

I'm sure he is absolutely furious. I wouldn't wanna be in that locker room or at practice tomorrow. I don't think that's right at all. The Suns did a very good job of focusing their defense on Gasol and Bryant. They gave Odom, Artest and Fischer a number of good looks but they weren't hitting. It was a simple case of forcing the inferior players to beat you, and they couldn't. That is what the difference has been in these past two games: the defenses.

How can lakers lose with kobes statline in the last two games? The Lakers were suffering from a rare infliction LeBronitis Majorus. Their answer to the zone (w/ Kobe guarded personally) was to play the way Cleveland does. Sure Kobe will get killer stats in that kind of system, but I really thought that in the past two years LA's strength was using Kobe to force adjustments on the defense and then hitting the other team with too many weapons to handle... But ironically, the exact opposite happened in game 3 (Nash/STAT took apart the defense), and in game 4 LA focused on Stoudemire but got destroyed by everyone else. I think that the big thing we learned from this series is that Gentry is a legit coach - in the first two games he tried every single trick in the book offensively, and a lot of combinations of defensive set-ups, and in games 3 and 4 it finally payed off.

How can anyone call these games defensive? Both teams are putting up 100+ points every game. These are terrible games defensively.

To be honest, I thought the Suns played great defense. Sure, Lakers still put up more than 100 points and shot 49%, but keep in mind that Kobe just went off in this game, and he was highly contested on every shot with a hand in the face and still nailed everything. Take out his statline and the rest of the Lakers shot a mediocre 43%.

Suns play with such a quick pace that high scoring shouldn't be a direct indication of defensive deficiencies.
Suns aren't great defensively but neither are they horrible in that department.

I thought the LAL-PHO game came down to rebounding & the Lakers not hustling hard enough. The offense was fine, but when you get out-rebounded 51-36 it's hard to win in the NBA. Pretty unacceptable given their size advantage in this series.

The lakers ARE NOT going to lose this series, but mad props to the Suns for making it exciting

Yeah, the Lakers just need to tighten up defensively, their offense isn't great but they need to defend better, Bynum needs play far less.

I feel like the Suns just wanted that game more. Quicker to loose balls, fought harder for rebounds, were more aggressive in their offense, and more frantic in their defense.
Kobe had a game for the ages, it's a pity it'll be forgotten amidst the loss.
Hopefully returning to LA will wake Odom up, he has seemed out of it in both PHO games.
The Lakers need to figure out to get Gasol going because that'll open things up for everyone.
Artest's inability to make open 3s is killing the Lakers, makes you miss Vujacic. If Brown can start making 3s, I would like to see more of Kobe at SF with Fish/Farmer and Brown, and possibly playing Artest at PF when the Suns play Hill or Dudley there.

Rashard Lewis still has a viral infection http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2010/news/story?id=5222650
"Overall it affects you," he said after Orlando's shootaround Wednesday. "I've been throwing up. I haven't been at full strength. I've been feeling weak, my legs been feeling weak. I find myself getting tired very fast in the first quarter. You know, when you can't hold food down you have no energy in your body to go out there and perform." Explains a lot.
