No Perkins, other bigs with a total of 7 fouls between them, Howard not even close to foul trouble, Rondo getting smacked around making the Magic look like pimps. At this point, if the referees will start calling Orlando at the rate they did Boston in the first half, it will be too late. Time for Ray to man up, otherwise it's over... but it's not looking good.

considering they had only called techs on physical actions up until this point, why would they toss someone on a verbal one, should perkins get a free pass? no but what he said was clearly not threatening or personally degrading to the ref.

There are two possibilities:

1) The refs have it out for Perkins
2) Perkins had been whining a lot beforehand, and had been warned

Since this is the NBA it could be either one, but I'm leaning toward #2.

yeah seriously. the more important part to catch is that he turned around and was complaining while walking away from the ref. i'd understand if perkins was just bitchin at the ref in front of his face, or if it was obviously directed towards the ref, but man.

kobe recently said that hes been getting so much rest from all the foul calls he's been getting.

its the mother fuckin playoffs. refs needa grow some balls. its not even their balls that's in danger anyways

Of course it was, did you miss Barnes getting a technical 30 sec before that? A single tech is always warranted to help the ref stay in control if he feels things are getting out of hand.

what do you mean of course it was? The game wasn't even getting out of control. The refs are really going nuts with the tech calls and it shows. This game is just badly officiated from top to bottom. Yes the NBA has shitty refs just admit it.

people think perkins is really mean or something, but he is very soft spoken and a gentle giant, he shows tons of emotion during the game, but for outside of it he is a big kid.

I'm not saying I agree with techs flying left and right, but that's how the game is now. We lost any hope of the refs not deciding stuff years ago. There may be a couple rogue refs who let you get away with more, but the vast majority of them are quick with the whistle now. We have to judge by what the NBA considers fair (unfortunately it's NEVER going to be like the old days again).

edit: Just for the record, I thought ejecting Perkins was an all-time travesty, but I'm not surprised that the ref did it. They are very temperamental and Eddy Rush is one of the worst of them.

First call, he tried to help his teammate, his hand slipped and he accidental elbowed gortat.
Second call, he got emotional. So what? Kobe complains every single time he doesn't get the call. It wasn't even a good personal foul.
Even the technicals on Orlando sucked ass.
