I was wondering if it is possible to create an unrecoverable savegame, in other words, a savegame in a situation that leaves no choice but to start a new game. (I don't think you can trade your last pokemon, but let's ignore trading for simplicity)
Starting point is assumed to be a completed game, that is, every possible trainer ingame defeated. So to state some obvious requirements: -only 1 pokemon left, this pokemon should not be able to defeat any other pokemon ingame while it is on level 1. -no money left, to disable buying balls. -save in a place where you are totally stuck without being able to defeat a single pokemon and hm fly. This is the step that gives me the most trouble because of the way the game randomly decides when a wild pokemon is encountered
I'm this far now: Make the elite 4 pokemon center your last visited pokemon center. Delete all pokemons, leave a lvl 1 magikarp. (it may even be lvl 14, as long as it learns no tackle it can't level up. Buy stuff until money drops below the price of a pokeball. Delete all deletable items. Save.
The problem is, this is only not recoverable on paper. There is a slight chance that you might be able to reach route 10 because it is not 100% certain that you encounter a pokemon in the long grass/dirt field after you slide down the mountain. Now you might say that you couldn't even do anything with a lvl 1 magikarp and 0 money, but there are ways to get money without encountering any pokemon For example, the lemonade in front of the route 9 shop respawns, the guy on route 11 gives you new stuff each day, the pearls on the beach respawn, there are perhaps some others, but you would definately be able to get a pokeball, and with that, be able to recover.
Can anyone think of a better way to make an unrecoverable savegame?
Is there any way to get a Scizor on Pokemon black and white by trading somehow before you get past E4(early on I mean)(Even if its a roundabout way like, having to battle a scizor/scyther on the interwebs, then trading).

I miss my favorite pokemon :<.
Only trading i you didnt beat the E4. After idk if you can found it or not ;D
Thinking about getting this, but I slaved over my Soul Silver lineup so I'm hesitant to start alll the way over (55 Charizard, 65 Feraligator, 63 Dragonite, 61 Alakazam, 61 Gengar, 62 Red Gyrados). But I just read you can get a Dragonite in White/Black, so that helps (my fav <3).
I have a semi-unrelated question though: is Dragonite considered a legendary? I mean, he's so freaking rare in both the games and the anime he should be at least partially legendary. :S
So...i just found my pokemon blue/gold cartridges...played both of them through again... and am looking into getting into this pokemon white/black business. My family we have one of the original gameboy Ds's will that work for this?
And is this game really as complicated as this thread makes it seem... i never thought i would look at a pokemon game and think ... "Huh...?!?!" like seriously it seems like the game has gotten fairly complicated. And if i played i would obviously want to get to a point where i would be playing/competing online with pokemon because pvp is the only aspect of ANY game i enjoy lol.. playing the old pokemon i found myself at the end of the game with a lineup i loved thinking ... "but now what..." lol. does black/white change this ?
in all seriousness...
why the fuck isnt there a pokemon game for the computer than you play online...
??
Like a MMO style pokemon game, but instead of building character/gear you collect/level/strengthen you're pokemon.
I have been preaching how a pokemon MMO could be AMAZING if somebody would just target an adult audience with the pokemon franchise and make it a fun /competitive/serious game for the past 5-6 years... Am so sad that it is still not around
After reading this thread, I KNOW it could be amazing with how in-depth the game has gotten, now imagine being surrounded by other players with their own lineups and such, it would be like the friggin tv show but you were a part of it. thousands of trainers all trying to become the number 1... could be the sickest mmo ever. just saying.
Trying to breed a deino with dark pulse, and i need a male gyarados/deino/seviper with the move (dark pulse) in order to get the egg move. Does anyone have a spare laying around?

dragonite, tyranitar, metagross, etc all the 600 base stat end of game rarish pokemon are known as pseudo-legends

That's a bit much for me, tbh. Too many Pokemon to be bothered now. I think my limit was 3rd Gen. TBH just get good 'Mons to battle.. Battling is much, much more fun then collecting. Actually, truth be told, 6v6 Singles got real boring, which is why I switched to VGC (2v2s) - adds a whole new level of gameplay.

I think I have a flawless RNG'd (maybe Shiny) Hydreigon if you want one.

Lemme start with the first part of your rather large post:
"Is B/W is complicated as this thread makes it seem?" - Actually, Pokemon has ALWAYS had all of these hidden factors (EVs, IV, etc) built in, you likely simply did not know about it. Hell, the EV max in Red/Blue was 66566, or whatever that magic numbah was. It's only as complicated as you want it to be.. Obviously you can win without RNGing and what not, since there are always people that don't (want to) train properly, but those that do it properly outnumbah those that do not.
"Why is there no Pokemon MMO?" - Actually, I think there is. Search for it on google. It's been around for years (beta anyway), but when I looked at it around 2-3 years ago, there were still a few critical glitches/bugs in the game. I was focusing on other things at the time though, so I never gave it a try. Only going on what I read at the time. It's obviously fanmade, but what can ya do? =p

That would be fantastic! You don't mind giving it away? finding my FC right now...
edit* apparently the ds doesnt like my access point security settings.... (Just got back into playing and have a new router)
Yea, it's really not a problem. I'm well-known for passing along such things on SkarmBliss. And Smogon, too. I'll double-check my game tomorrow and we can do this sometime in the evening (EDT).

this might have to wait for a bit, I can't connect to my home network. It's not using a WEP key which my DS isn't liking...
Nobody cares. Most people that like only RB(Y) are people who are incredibly self-conscious about their gaming (lol) and don't want to be seen still playing "a kiddie game" like Pokemon.

No prob. The net here accepted my Pokemon like a month ago, but not my Dragon Quest 9 like last night. Should still take Pokemon though. If not I found like 2-3 open connections around here last night walking my dog. =p

I haven't played Pokémon since red and blue were hot and new, but I've always been mystified (at least as a child) with those guys.
I believe you can via trading, but you can not catch the starters in the wild in any game (Except Pikachu and I think Eevee, but neither in this game pre Elite Four).
