looking for easy to play lineup ,which means, characters that are the exact opposite of dante but effective as a team =O
Definitely keep sent, his bnb's are easy and damaging and his spacing game is pretty straightforward. Taskmaster has pretty simple, highly damaging easy combos and you can run or rushdown pretty well with him. His chip game off just runaway with arrows is scary. Wolverine does great damage even without meter once you learn his basic bnb (which isnt hard at all!) and is overall a fantastic character if you feel more inclined to rush people down. Hulk is a pretty strong, easy to learn character as well because his heavy has armor like sent's medium/S and causes groundbounce like sent's jumping S. His jumping attacks can hit behind him as well if someone crosses under you while you're in the air, so it nullifies a lot of the stuff the fast chars can do to you.
For your anchor, you can use sentinel, but I'd suggest keeping him as your starter or secondary because of his great dhc potential. Chun makes a great anchor on most any team because her lightning legs assist is great for stopping rushdown and for locking people down, with level 3 she becomes insanely fast and has an easy overhead with forward + heavy if you cant do instant air dashes. She can do ok damage with basic combos as well, and her lvl 1 kick super has full startup invulnerability, so you can counter super lots of stuff at close range to get out of bad situations (very bad if its blocked though, so make sure youre not just guessing with it lol) Wesker is another great anchor that I'm starting to use. His gunshot assist hits low which will catch a lot of people, he has over a million hp so he'll live through a lot more bs, and even his l,m,h.s, jump m,m,h,s, land gunshot combo does over 400k damage, which becomes over a million in lvl 3 xfactor. He can teleport and counter super as well, which are both pretty cool.
Most combinations of the above characters should work out as ok teams to learn with, just a matter of preference.
I'd probably mention spencer as a potential character, but I don't know all that much about him or how difficult he is to get the hang of. Everyone's going crazy over him because of combofiend, though =P
If you need some start combos, I can post up one or two for each char just to get you started, or just go more in depth with chars you're more interested in.
I'd hate to see people quit because it's too hard, I know there's a ton of info out there to work through nowadays and most is not aimed towards new players.
alright guys, after getting to 4th lord undeservingly with Haggar/Doom/Sentinel, I think it's time I actually learn how to play.
Taking out Haggar for STORM. no idea how to play this bitch, but she looks sick and worth practicing to get good with.
I'm gonna have to take out doom cuz I suck ass with him. my zoning is pretty good, except Doom gets out-zoned by a bunch of characters. and it's hard for me to initiate combos with doom. I really struggle and usually my doom gets ass raped. So I'm gonna switch to Dormammu who looks much more versatile and has sick zoning
ANd i'm keeping Sentinel of course. So STORM/DORMAMMU/SENTINEL is what im gonna be running now. How is the synergy with this team? Do any of these chars have an OTG? im so sick of getting OTG'd by everyone and my chars not having that ability -_-
every character has OTG capabilities to an extent. i actually like the idea of sent on point nowadays. anyway i don't know storm/sent BnB's but storm can OTG with glass shards storm or elemental rage (which setups the aforementioned DHC glitch with HSF) and dormammu can otg with pillar into chaotic flame.
dorm + drones assist is fantastic zoning, dhalsim ultra into teleport can lead into mixups, chaotic flame has fast startup and can easily punished random/fullscreen characters/assists. as much as i loved storm in 2 (that sexy movement and versatility) i'm not feeling her this game :/
we can practice sometime later yo. i still need to decide who i wanna run for the tournament this weekend (mag/ammy/dante or mag/wesker/ammy)

sent's rocket punch is one of the best OTGs in the game.
Dormammu's Pillar (purification which is forward, down, down-forward l/m/h) OTGs and combos into his quarter circle forward super. Dormammu is pretty difficult to learn to use effectively, but once you get there, if people don't know what to do against him, you feel like a god. also his flame carpet (down-foward H) OTGs as well as a bunch of his liberation mixes ( mixed, destruction mix, creation mix ect)
All those characters have OTG ... Storm OTG's with her hail storm, Dorm uses purification pillar (medium in most cases), Sent has rocket punch.
Storm is one of those versatile at everything characters which makes her really tough. She has a really easy air combo though for good damage since all her aerial S's and air throws combo into OTG hailstorm (just make sure you land first before doing it or you get typhoon). You pretty much need assists for her to rush down. Otherwise you're better off tossing whirlwinds till they get annoyed and try to rush you down so you can hopefully force a mistake.
Try to have storm with sent behind her for the dhc somehow in your team order. You can do storm bnb into knockdown, otg elemental rage dhc to HSF for massive damage off the scaling reset into launch, j.b, j.c, j.s, land rocket punch xx super. Even without the super at the end youre looking at 800k at least. With enough meter you can go over a million.
For storm, doing the instant float overhead is probably a big thing to learn. It's just tap up, up + S. Storm doesn't have good crossups to my knowledge (outside of the random hitbox shenanigans where you walk over people), so the high low mixup, especially under some sent drones, will probably be your biggest way to open people up.
Generally with storm you're gonna be running, throwing whirlwinds and lightning spheres, and calling sent drones until you see a good clean opening to dash in on people. Throwing a couple whirlwind xx hailstorms just for chip isnt a bad thing even if its blocked, it scares people from calling assists and keeps em stuck even if they jump the whirlwind.
Storm's j.S is probably her best normal, great for floating down on people from directly above with.
Dormammu's j.S is absolutely ridiculous, hits in front and under him as well as below behind him. Made to be abused.
Sent's rocket punch assist is an otg, but drones are way too good to sacrifice for a little extra otg damage, especially if youre switching to dorm/storm.
Midwest repped well for the first time in forever. gllty and Humbag take top 32 in marvel singles, gllty losing to jwong in winners. Getting knocked out by his team in teams and taking 5th.

Anotak was there (he was on stream!) but I don't know if he posts on TL anymore lol
I was kinda surprised to see how many people gllty was beating in teams, guess it makes sense she did equally well in singles.
I wish they had announced more generic results like that on stream so we could get a feel for how the tourney was shaping up outside the top 8. With 300 people, there's a lot of room for some surprises.
I'm having a hard time doing instant overheads with Wolv against normal sized characters like She-hulk and Taskmaster. Any tips on the timing? And I noticed Tokido has a nasty overhead with Akuma without jumping. How do you do that?

Lol that interviews funny, Norcal's pretty solid per capita, since John Choi, Vangief, and those two are there, but outside of that I mean EVERYONE is in socal. Champ and Ricky are two of the top 5 SSF4 players in the country but they gotta travel to go to all the majors.
There were so many socal players confirmed for CEO but I guarantee they won't be for long lol, Revelations has RIDICULOUS prize money, although I think its kinda annoying that Marvel has equal money to BB:CS, both of which are 25% that of SSF4, if it were AE I'd understand it, but Super? Meh, if anything Marvel needs more money.
so now players gotta decide whether they want more evo points or more money right away? sucks for the players who travel :/ but great for da stream monsters like me :D
she-hulk/x-23/tron is another team i've been fucking around with. she-hulk's reset/mix-up capability is so abusable lol.after dizzy grab j.C,D *land* j.C,D into another grab or c.a,b, f.C (overhead) call tron into w/e combo. the air grab/tech tron trap is stupid good. x-23 setups up the low/high unblockable and after the emerald super she can DHC cleanly into her weapon x super. post slide enders leave them in air state and its a guess when they press a button to tech the air throw (which easily gets snatched via. M command grab or AA super) or they don't and risk getting airthrown or cross under shenanigans. i haven't found much use for her off the wall mixups but i did see combofiend get a nifty reset with the off the wall buttslam. might of been accident or the opponent just wasn't blocking but i gotta read up on this up.
ill probably stick to mag/ammy/dante this weekend regardless. btw our arcade replaced the TvC machine (pre-allstars lolol) with a mvc3 arcade setup lol. luckily they didn't take da mahvel 2 setups
Man, the sf4 vs marvel payout disparity when the numbers are pretty much equal (marvel actually has slightly more at final round and winter brawl, but I attribute that to new game bias) is kinda ridiculous. Especially considering so many top SSF4 players have pretty much stopped practicing until AE comes out.
It's even more odd knowing that it's Valle running things and puts it on the same day as another big event that at least a few big players were already confirmed for.
Very odd decisions from such a reputable guy. Especially since he just went on that hissy fit about professionalism when Spooky mentioned last year's evo stream crashing during grand finals.
it's in another side of the country so it's not necessarily directly competing, but I know I'd be annoyed if I was running CEO right now lol
Lol the comments on that video are hilarious.... I really don't like FChamp, you beat daigo just that one tournament, you can't be claiming best in the world dawg.

He doesn't claim to be the best in the world lol, He always says he thinks Ricky is better than him, and the dude is confident as hell but he's not jaded. Also, he's beaten japanese players more than almost anyone (part of that is due to being dhalsim but still). Whether you like him or not the dude is top 5 in the country when he's on his game, and he didnt' just beat daigo he shut him completely down Dhalsim vs Ryu, as well as all the other top Ryu's around like Air John Choi Valle etc.
