after playing with anivia, I find that you can only do well with a good team. your low mobility prevents you from really defending lanes, so if you have dumbass teammates that just sit around you cant be the one to go defend turrets. I haven't pissed anyone off with the wall yet, I usually use it pretty well. the trick I find is to place it so it connects with one part of a wall and then it will obviously leave a small opening, this is where you throw a skill shot and then ult + E them
other things you can do is come out of the woods and throw a wall between their team, splitting apart their team and netting yours 2 ez mode kills.
if you aren't the carry(which you almost never will, i only did it once but dam was i fucking strong) you will most likely go something like 3-0-15 3-2-11 whatever. you dont get many kills.

Well she's a support hero, support heroes (and tanks) are almost always helpless to the fate of the matchmaking system ;p

Playing as atombombforpeace on the US servers.

So I've a general match-up question.
I've been demolished several times now by teams sporting one ridiculous carry hero (Twitch/Trynd/Yi) and a crapton of support (once I ran against a team using Trynd/Taric/Soraka/Kayle) and I can't really figure out how you're supposed to play against that. I feel like Taric/Soraka are so strong early-game (and they keep up the ppl they're with alive pretty well) that it's almost impossible to stop <insert carry> from farming, and once farmed it becomes impossible to actually kill <insert carry> because of all the damn stuff around it.

Unless you classify all casters as support, this is pretty false. Anivia is as close to a mage carry as LoL has. Two AoE spells that synergizes well with a double damage nuke.

Taric Soraka combo has been popping a lot this patch thanks to the buff on Soraka's heal (instant heal instead of over time). Carries can be stop, but your statement is so generic, I don't know how to provide you with a counter. However, with Taric Soraka, someone on your team (preferably your DPS) should invest an Executioner's Calling. Reducing their healing potential will make them less effective in team fights.

I dunno, unless she has a ridiculous start I tend to see her act more as a snare-bot/wall-bot with a potential stun (if aimed well) and a decent-damage nuke, but nothing like Annie/Veigar/Ryze.
It *is* a generic question, I prefaced it as much ^^
Carries can be stopped; how do you stop them when their entire team is protecting them, though?
For example with the Taric/Soraka/Kayle team what happened was that the Soraka lane destroyed our team's lane - it's nearly impossible to stop Soraka and a good offensive lane partner, I think? Or is there some sort of combination that works well against Soraka and thus merits a swap. Taric and, for instance, Kayle are annoying as balls because of double-heal. Usually you see the carry lane with Soraka, but you can swap things around - their solo mid is just cherry on top, unless the carry goes solo mid.
What ends up happening is that you fight this carry that's being healed and supported whole game, making him ridiculously difficult to gank, especially if he's trynd (15second cd flash + undying ult) or Yi (anti-snare ult -> run), and in a team fight just when you think you've got them down, Kayle's ult pops up and you have to endure another few seconds of being bashed by the carry. It's the worst with Trynd because against a decently-coordinated team I see Trynd fight Trynd shielded Trynd ult Trynd healed Trynd ace. But I've seen it done with Twitch/Twisted Fate, among others. And I'm sitting there absolutely flabbergasted as to what I'm supposed to do against it. You can, of course, replace Taric with anything else, I just brought it up as a strong laning character (Janna, etc. are good examples of what I see instead).

We've been having this problem too and basically it comes down to a well-timed ice blast or stun from someone so I can rupture-scream-feast him while he's silenced early on. If he gets too big it's ridiculous, and sometimes you'll see someone with a full rune book crit for like 400 at level 3 with trynd. But yeah, well-timed stun-silence-kill combos do it.

Gah... I'm still unable to get into the store since the patch.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? T_T;

You can whine about the soraka lanes as much as you want until you face an Alistar/Anivia combo and want to quit LoL =)
|
I've never seen an alistar/anivia lane combo before. I hate teemo/ashe and gang/ashe lanes though..those are just so annoying.
|
There're plenty of annoying lanes - one of my favourite was Taric + Blitz; my question was more how you deal with such an annoyingly defensive carry-centric team
|
I say we change this thread's name to [LoL] Let's play~!!!
|
So can anyone tell me in Detail about Critical Chance and Critical Damage. i often see this in when i buy Runes
|
Critical chance is the % of hits you land that are critical...
Damage is how much extra damage the crit does.
|
I think the most annoying lane has a Twisted Fate in it + whoever
|
I play Anivia as probably my best character - she has really high damage output if built right and is one of the best KITers in the game.
Plus, her ult + walls are incredibly useful in team battles, even with the nerf.
The most annoying lane for me is a good Blitz + anybody.

Fate is not hard to lane against IMO - just dodge cards and run away from gold-card fate.
|
Dodging cards fine, running away from gold-cards gives them control of lane.
|
Blitz cho is really hard to beat too, grab stun rupture scream feast instant kill for anyone who gets grabbed, especially because blitz is so good at chasing and towerdiving plus they're impossible to kill when they're running unless you have like 5 stuns.
