I'm like 75% convinced that a large part of the problem was my rune/mastery setup. I was running 21/0/9 (1 in meditation in util) and ArmorPen/HPpL/Mp5pL/FlatHP, but I think most of the really difficult early game pantheons I've been running into were a lot harder to kill than I was there. I think I need to do 9/21/0 with ArmorPen/Dodge/Mp5pL/FlatHP, because with all the damage reduction and dodge, that should mitigate the beating I took from creeps every time I engaged him.

...and as I said after the game, I was just failing at doing the right thing everytime he came after me to card. I should throw a spear as he stuns me, when I get out of stun, shield bash -> heartseeker and then spear throw should be off CD after heartseeker to complete the burst. Instead, I was going for my stun at the same time as his, effectively nullifying my heartseeker's usefulness because we were stunned at the same time. I was also too aggressive with using spear throw on him early and took too much harassment before I hit level 3 when I can start controlling the lane with my full combo. Live and learn I guess, but I definitely think the more defense oriented build would've helped, especially with nimbleness triggers to help me catch up to his boots first opening after my first burst (since creeps will attack me enough to trigger a dodge).

Oh, I remember this one time I (Mundo) got owned by a jungle Gragas. It's surprisingly effective! (Especially since our jungling Warwick didn't even TRY to shut him down...) I ended up solo in top versus a Janna, so I couldn't really do much to her early, and then around level 6, Gragas showed up and... blew me away from the tower with barrel and between him and the Janna, killed me before my ult really kicked in.
So I might have to try jungle Gragas. It seems like it would be pretty fun.

jungle gragas can be done, but why would you when he is one of the best laners in the game? you can output insane damage and last hit like a king.

I just think Grag's ult is too generally weak to have much of a jungling impact, and he'll usually lose to other junglers 1v1.

Grag is just generally too weak to have much of any impact in my experience... even good ones just blow up the enemy formation to ruin your Malphite's ult.

He actually f-ed up Fiddle's ult there, too, because I launched my ult at them and his ult.

As a whole I just dislike movement skills, like Alistar's punt, Janna's ult, Poppy's charge, Singed's toss, those stuff. They have their uses, but in a team fight with AoE flying everywhere it's more likely you screw over a teammate more than anything else. For instance, there was a time yesterday where I was sitting at bottom tower with Alistar, and Fiddle came ult tower diving for the kill. Instinctively, I Flash'd left, to gtfo; that put me outside both his ult range and his casting range. But the Alistar punted him left, too, so I actually Flash'd with his ult, forcing me to burn a Ghost as well to survive. In a blink decision like that it's just so hard to anticipate movement.

I don't fully agree with this, for two reasons:

1) Alistar's push can stop Warwick's ult cold. Trist and Gragas' ults can also prevent a lost teamfight from turning into a full wipe and a lost game.

2) Blitz's grab. One of the scariest skills in the game (I play only squishies). It has screwed me up before (aim a skillshot, allied blitz grabs enemy out of the way) but the ratio is strongly in its favor.

Yesterday, Gragas' ult caused Malphite and Fiddle's ult to whiff, indirectly costing us the game, as we would later go on to lose a teamfight and lose.

As I said, there're uses, but in general they are extremely irritating.

A teamfight is not the team (usually) for a Gragas ult -- you want enemies clumped for a teamfight.

When the fight is over and the cleanup chas is on, Gragas' ult can stop enemies from getting away, or stop them from catching you (depending on how the fight went).

Maybe your Gragas made a mistake?

Maybe, it still annoyed me :p

1) I didn't realize Locket healed creep; that does make it quite useful as a mid-game pushing item.
2) Just played with Soraka Mundo Shen Warwick Annie... other team bitched about our team healing itself. That was... the most boring game I've ever played, but in a way rather relaxing.

just because some bad gragas was messing you up doesnt mean hes a bad character

hes actually pretty damn good now, not AP tho.

I didn't say I hate Gragas, nor did I say they all suck.
I said they piss me off a lot of times because they're the most likely to screw your team over just as much as they'll screw the other team over. I play Anivia. I abuse the wall like crazy, especially if the other team is stupid/careless enough to fight us in jungle. But there're times I'll mess up a wall and it can be a gamechanging mistake.

Anyone have a build for Morde? Cause mine is just awful. Early game makes me utterly useless, and im not effective until mid-late to late game.

I get Rejuv beads + 6 pots.
Turn it into spirit visage.
Get myself mercury treads.
Then get force of nature.
Then haunting guise.
Then thornmail.
I never get the last item, cause the game never lasts that long.

Like early game, i am soo weak. But by late game I run about 200+ def and magic def.
Is there a morde build that allows me to be useful early game, and still dominate late game?
btw I have no idea how to play morde. But I'm 4-1 on pub queues using the same build, so i guess its not too bad.

I don't like Force of Nature because it gives you a small amount of movespeed, 25 MR, and a moderate amount of HP regen for 1000 gold. HP regen isn't what wins teamfights (unless you're Mundo).
I don't like haunting guise unless you have a good deal of MPen from other sources, especially that late in the game.
Thornmail is and should be a situational item.
Get Rylai's on Mord, always. The synergy with his ultimate is amazing.

Also, why not start with a Regrowth Pendant? It's 225 gold saved in the long run.

eh personally i think nicosharp is terrible, fed every game ive ever seen him in, so i'd take that with a grain of salt. even if they're "solid" with him, my point stands. one of the best laners bar none. You jungle with somebody because they cant lane for shit. (warwick, current udyr, shaco, etc)

fiddlesticks is an exception, he can do both well but hes just such a good ganker it makes sense to jungle.

The overlooked part of jungling, IMHO, is the 1v2 lane. Almost anyone can jungle, but few heroes can farm effectively 1v2. Ironically, Fiddle rocks at both.

Whenever I play Morde I would start off with regen pendant, then when I have the time/money, go back to get Merc's treads. Then my next item would be Force of Nature. After that, it's just stacking sunfire capes whenever you have the money. Sometimes I'll experiment with a relatively cheap tanky item like Spirit Visage before I get the sunfire capes if I feel I will need some extra MR or something.

It's a pretty simple and unimaginative build but it gives Morde more power to be all up in the enemy's face and burn their asses. And as for your early game, Morde is pretty deadly if you can constantly suck up their damage and hit them along with the creep. If you carry ignite (which is the best way to give you an early game advantage, but I'm sure many here would disagree with it on Morde) once you get your ult your chances of getting a kill are pretty high if you/your partner has been harassing them. Just make sure your target doesn't have cleanse.

Soner and I were talking about forming a super duper uber TL team, with a good team composition setup.

Since I can't play 5 characters at once, I am opening up other positions for qualified players.

No, don't laugh. Why u laughing.

Anyway, would like maybe another 1-2 DPS/magic nuker, a mobile DPS (Nidalee or TF), an Alistar, and/or a Blitzcrank. Would definitely need ventrilo access.
