congrats to HugS! Kinda hard to find info on this team tho (other than they're sponsored by LSTN), I don't think they even have a website ...

Just seed according to last year's event, it would be barely more work than random seeding and definitely less work than what they are doing and fairer than both. WTF, EVO.

It has to be somewhat objective.

By the way, would it be all right if I were to create a Falco thread/guide?

Another method would be to seed by every region's power ranking although those change all the time as well... By the way, would it be all right if I were to create a Falco thread/guide? Can you please write a guide? I've only been playing for 3 months and would love to learn more about Falco.. If not, links that can point me towards more resources!

What you can learn from there is pretty limited, there's no decent falco guides around. Actually the only decent guide I've seen period is CunningKitsune's and it has 95% fluff

For Falco the quality is in all of PPMDs and Mogwai's posts. There's a Falco Matchup Guide created a while ago that's still very much relevant. Top quality guides are very hard to make for Smash Brothers because there are essentially way too many situations in a single matchup to cover everything.

I've noticed in every thread you really have a tendency to sound self-confident with no justification whatsoever.

It's true that it compiles things like hitboxes and frame data and some other misc. information but that's not really what I consider very helpful for teaching you how to actually play. It's like those gamefaqs guides that teach you moves and give superfluous descriptions about how that and that move can be used without being actually helpful. Some of the "give advice on my video" responses are pretty useful when they concentrate on the important things but few actually, once again, teach you how to actually play. You also need to dig very deep and read potentially hundreds of pages to get a decent amount of useful information, which is not what I would expect out of a guide. A basic flowchart would be a decent starting point to have. I'd like to ideally create something very detailed. Perhaps some of it is useful to a player of 3 months but I'm not sure if a player like that is able to filter all the incorrect information in there as well. Posts by known players are safer of course. I also admit to speaking overly confidently / dismissing better players, it's a negative habit of mine.

I'd readily admit that smash guides on the whole aren't very good, but saying smashboards is very limited in its information is just not true. Definitely limited by the person's patience, though, so that much is correct. Better tutorials just haven't come along, it's as though we as a community stopped caring about catering to newer players somewhere around 07. So yeah, if you actually got around to making one it'd be pretty sweet but until then Mogwai's stuff and the occasional PPMD posts are the best things out there.
