are you hosting median XL? or a diff version of median? I can't seem to join. do u have a router? you probably have to open ports I can help you do that.
put 192.168.0.1 into your browser log into the router find where port forwarding is, and for your ip address open up port 4000, and 6112 - 6119 for both TCP and UDP
and for the other one, if you didn't, put the starting port as 6112 and ending port as 6119 and forward those as well and maybe restart your router just to make sure

I had a D2 hankering ever since the blizzcon panels where they used a bunch of diablo background music. Iwon't be playing multiplayer but the mod looks really interesting so thanks for posting it.

Been playing single player a bit and it's fun so far. It's been easier than regular D2 for me so far but maybe that's just because of the build I chose, summoner necromancer. I'm not too far yet so it might progress, I guess the first couple acts are just for intro more than anything.

Oh I fixed my port forwaring problem. Turns out when I do save settings it only saves the setting of the page your on, so I only saved the 6112-6119 range ports but not the single 4000 one. It should be fixed now. Try joining my game!

Sacrifice set items to obtain a Signet of Learning. The Signet can be consumed to gain 1 attribute point permanently. You can only use 500 signets on any single character.
Did anyone get a ghal yet? Fyi.. I have 2/5 to 3/5 of most of the sets if you need... most of them are good versions too since I see the same ones over and over.
I can't seem to get the jewel+runeword going. I succesfully runeworded a 1 socket armor, but when I try to runeword multiple socket items it doesn't work. Failed already with a sorceress sword and a belt. I socketed the jewels first, and the last socket was the proper rune, but the item didn't transform into a runeword. What could I have done wrong?
so how does this work exactly with hamachi? i downloaded it and connected to the teamliquid-mxl server. i see 5 gray names and 2 names in black with ip's and a blinking green dot. how do i use this to set up games?
All it does is sets up a separate IP outside of the router network in your house. It's called a VPN.. basically its exactly what SF-Fork said.. You copy address, paste in TCP/IP and join games. Open a chat box with whoever is online and see if they are up for a game.

Wow, that must be the D2 equivalent of nuclear warfare. However, since the monsters will be equally boosted it seems kinda pointless to me. Just multiplay everything by 1000. Despite the numbers getting bigger, it does not change much, does it?
The numbers for enemies goes up as well, the problem is that the D2 engine can't handle it very well, causing numbers to overflow causing all sorts of weird stuff hehe. What makes ZyEl great though is the sheer amount of content and tinkering, learning crafting recipes for the cube is crucial. It's also very hard, for example, in the beginning you can't even kill the skeletons outside of the starting camp, even killing a quill boar is a challenge. If you take a look at the wiki it's easier to get an overview on the number of recipes.

Looks nice but what i love about median is the completely new skill trees for all characters, uberquests and other challenges wich give a rich gameplay experience where everyone can find something for himself.
I don't want to discredit this mod but if you want to advertise it create a new thread so more people can learn about it.

Also i did you actually played median ? because i dare to think that median has a lot more of what you described, although in recent patches it became somewhat easy but still way harder than original.
Yupp, me and my mate here at the office gave it a good go a year or so back. It was cool that they had modified the skill trees, but if I recall correctly I think the largest problem IMO was that it still was a bit flat. What I really like about ZyEl is that there's so much to tinker with, and as you learn how the recipes flows together and how everything works it becomes so much better.

Trying out the D2 mods like Median XL is an itch I'd like to scratch, but first need to locate a copy of D2LoD. I only really discovered this genre with Path of Exile, and realized that the type of game I loved playing as a kid was still alive (Secret of Mana). It's time to go back to the roots. Is the cheapest D2 out there the 10$ D2 + 10$ D2 LoD from Blizzard's site?

Yeah, that's why it's tempting. Diablo II is pretty fun regardless of age, so not having played this mod for so long plus it having a huge update (plus Path of Exile wait for 3.0) makes it exciting.

maybe someone can convince me it's worth playing though

there's lots of aoe skills and skills that you can use on the ground instead of a monster, so it's not that bad you could give a shot to some of the caster or summoner trees, as it sounds like you just played a few levels of some melee tree
the new patch is going to be more newbie friendly too

You only can't hold your mouse down if you have to attack with left mouse button, like with characters that use auras. Also make sure to use full screen.
I'll probably play SP with PlugY considering I don't have a lot of faith in server stability (as I think there will be way more players than they expect) and being able to use /players x is pretty great. Add to that that PlugY makes stashing items bearable. Also, most features of the online server now work on SP, that's part of this patch. Only the few season 14 features at the end of the changelog are exlusive for that.

Holy fucking shit, Median XL Sigma is coming this friday and the patch notes were posted today. They're massive and in my opinion the changes are almost exclusively positive.
Hmmm, will probably give Path of Diablo another go this season. Only played it recently for a little bit, just made a zon and full cleared normal.
Median XL seems a little bit much, although I haven't played it I definitely prefer keeping the game the same while only changing the things that were never used or just completely unviable.
