So there are a few good BW players who would just "pwn everyone" if they switched to SC2. Ok, maybe that's true, maybe it isn't (I doubt it is). But what does it matter? Are we just supposed to pause the entire competitive scene while we wait for these magic saviors? No, you're supposed to practise harder, become better. If SC2 is to be the flagship of international esports then the least the top players can do is to try to be the best they can be. It would, in a sense, be embarassing to see BW A-teamers switch and dominate. What is best for everyone is to see this scene get better, for if the time comes when BW dies then you want to see SC2 scene being competetive and not a bunch of pushovers.

incontrol- this game won't be solved just like that if the gods switch over. Yes they will be absolutely amazing but flash to sc2 =/= solved game. tyler- intrigue is just stating what he thinks should be the standard for sc2 games. Finds it motivating because Tyler realizes sc2 play is no where near the level of sc1 play and that pros like him must step up their game. idra- the statistics shown were a bit skewed, and these "top sc2 players" were not actually as bad at bw as this article makes it sound. Sc1 success doesn't directly translate to sc2 success, and until someone like Flash or Jaedong switches over, we won't see that sort of domination (note he agrees flash and jaedong would destroy this game, but doesn't say anything about the average a-teamer's possible success if they switched). kennigit- alot of sc2 fans are morons thinking that people are "bw elitists" or they want to see e-sports fail. Thinks article was very informational, sometimes the wording was controversial, but overall cannot understand why this argument got so heated. Yes I don't think the sc2 scene has been a farce. Seems a bit extreme to say so. Safe to say sc2 has not seen the highest level of play though. But these new players to the scene claiming people like Flash and Jaedong wouldn't DESTROY the competition clearly have never seen what they are capable of. It's silly.

Flash would probably reach the SC2 skill cap rather quickly if he were to switch, but raising the skill cap will still be a slow, deliberate process. I'm looking forward to when people really start to get good at this game what? the OP mentions nothing about sc2 skill cap. And the sc2 skill cap is incredibly high, the skill level atm is nowhere near the level it will be in a few years, im not saying that people are bad atm, but its only been 1 year. I mean look at BW, 2011 play is far better than 2007 play for example. the skill cap will get higher and higher with each week/month and year that goes past

Are we just supposed to pause the entire competitive scene while we wait for these magic saviors? The way I read it is that it will hype us up about the future of SC2 in that we really have no idea what the highest skill cap is, about BW pros joining in the future, how similar the two games are, and for some, interest us in the roots of SC2- interest us in BW. Again, I'm going to say I absolutely loved this article and have been watching BW solely because of this article. I never played BW and I think the games are kind of boring compared to SC2. The article is just awesome though. it makes me feel like a tiny, insignificant Diamond league SC2 speck in the giant universe of starcraft ^_^

Even if all in the article is right, that doesn't make the sc2 competition "a farce" for me.
