[다음 결승] 한빛 김준영 인터뷰 “큰 결실 맺어 기쁘다”

한빛 스타즈 '대인배' 김준영이 울산 문수 월드컵 경기장 호반 광장 특설 무대에서 열린 다음 스타리그 2007 시즌1 결승전에서 CJ 변형태를 꺾고 감격의 우승을 차지했다. 김준영은 스타리그 4회 진출 동안 16강의 벽을 넘지 못하며 좌절했지만 불굴의 의지로 5회 진출 만에 우승컵을 품에 안았다.
Hanbit Stars "Great One" Kim Joon Young defeated CJ's Byun Hyung Tae in the 2007 Season 1 Starleague Grand Final, which was held at the Ulsan World Cup Stadium Special Stage. GGPlay previously participated in 4 starleagues, but he was not able to get out of the Ro16, until his fifth starleague, where he won the finals.
김준영은 경기 후 인터뷰에서 "힘든 순간들을 다 이겨내고 큰 결실을 맺게 돼 기쁘다. 0대2로 뒤지던 상황에서 관중석에 계신 아버지의 모습을 보고 다시 경기에 집중해 승리할 수 있었다"며 "앞으로도 좋은 성적으로 기대해 준 팬들에게 보답하고 싶다"고 밝혔다. 다음은 김준영과의 일문일답.
GGPlay, after the match, stated in his interview "I'm very happy to overcome all the difficult moments, and have a huge result in the end. When I was down 0-2, I saw my father in the audience, which allowed me to focus more on the match, and to win" and also stated, "I want to thank my fans who believed I would be able to do well." The following is the interview:
-먼저 우승 소감을 말해 달라.
First tell us your thoughts on winning.
▶프로게이머 하면서 힘든 순간이 정말 많았다. 그 힘들었던 때 다 이겨내고 큰 결실을 맺어서 지금 너무나도 기쁘다.
There were so many difficult moments once I became a progamer. I am now so very happy to have overcome all those difficult moments and to bear fruit (meaning finally bearing the fruit of his struggles)
-0대2로 지고 있다가 3대2로 역전했다.
You were down 0-2; but you made a huge comeback with 3-2.
▶나도 2경기 끝나고 지겠구나 생각했다. 역전할 수 있을 거라 자신하지는 못했다. 관중석에 있는 아버지와 팀원들, 팬들, 친구들 모습을 보고 다시 집중할 수 있었다. 그래서 역전할 수 있었던 것 같다.
I also thought that I would lose after the second match. I didn't think I could make a comeback. But when I saw my father, my teammates, my fans, my friends in the audience, I was able to focus again. That is why I think I was able to make this comeback.
-몽환에서 첫 패를 기록했다.
You had your first loss on Monghwan (Fantasy).
▶1세트 때 큰 실수로 져서 집중력이 많이 흐트러졌다. 2세트에서 변형태 선수가 준비를 너무 잘해와서 내가 휘둘렸다. 그래서 진 것 같다.
I made a huge mistake during the first set, so my concentration was slacking. In the second set, IriS had prepared very well, so I was shaken. That is why I lost.
-4세트 승리 후 무슨 생각이 들었나.
What did you think after you won the 4th set?
▶5세트 파이썬에서 제발 2시만 나오지 말라고 생각했다. 2시만 아니면 이길 거라고 생각했는데 2시가 나와서 지겠구나 생각했다. 자원 모이는 속도가 차이가 많이 난다. 스탑 럴커로 이득을 많이 봐서 이긴 것 같다.
I just thought, please don't let me come out at 2 o clock in the fifth map Python. If I don't start at 2 o clock, I can win I thought; but I came out at 2 o clock, so I thought I would lose. There is a big difference in the pace of gathering minerals (Nocturne's note: wow...I didn't know that). I think I was able to gain a significant advantage with my stop lurkers.
-2세트와 5세트에서 변형태의 운영이 비슷했다.
IriS' management in the second and fifth set were similar.
▶2세트보다 5세트가 많이 유리한 상황이었는데 내가 운영이 미숙해서 어렵게 이긴 것 같다. 실수는 많았지만 워낙 유리한 상황이었고 집중해서 극복할 수 있었다.
Moreso than the second set, I was further ahead in the fifth set with a significant advantage, but my management was not so good, that's why it was a hard fought win. I made many mistakes, but I was in the advantage early on, and so with added concentration, I was able to win.
-4세트 전진 해처리 전략은 팬택 심소명의 경기를 보고 응용한 것인가.
In the fourth set, did you utilize Pantech's Shim So Myung (Silver)'s match strategy? (Nocturne: this is where Silver goes hydra+guard against Boxer in Pantech vs. Airforce Ace Proleague)
▶노 스포닝풀에서 양쪽 멀티에 3해처리를 펴는 플레이를 내가 방송 경기에서 보여준 적이 있어 그 전략은 잘 대비할 것 같았다. 그런데 변형태 선수 VOD를 보니 가운데는 정찰을 잘 안 하더라. 전진 해처리를 펴는 전략이 잘 먹힐 것 같았다.
I had a previous show match where I went no spawning pool and 3 hatch build (at both ends), so I think IriS was more prepared for that. But when I saw IriS' VOD, he did not scout the center too well. I thought my strategy of having a forward hatchery would work well.
-승리를 확정지은 후 무슨 생각이 들었나.
Once you secured your victory, what were your thoughts?
▶경기가 너무 힘들어서 막상 GG 받아내고 나니까 이겼구나 라는 생각 외에는 다른 생각이 나지 않았다. 지금도 경기 때 너무 많이 긴장을 해서 끝나고 나니 몸에 힘이 쫙 풀려서 힘이 든다.
The game was very difficult, so once i received the GG, I didn't think of any other thoughts other than that I had won. Even now, I get anxious/nervous before and during games, so after, all the energy seeps out so I am tired.
-아버지와 어떤 대화를 나눴나. 하고 싶은 말은.
What conversations did you have with your father? Any words you would like to say?
▶아버지께서 평소에 게임 전에 항상 격려해 주신다. 긴장하지 말고 침착하게 잘 하라고 말이다. 오늘 아버지 응원 오셔서 힘이 너무 많이 됐다. 정말 감사 드린다.
My father normally encourages me before every game. Don't be nervous, just do your best calmly. Today, my father's coming to the game gave me so much strength. I am really thankful to him.
-16강 저그라는 오명을 벗었던 순간과 지금을 비교한다면.
Comparing the moment when you dropped the stigma of being a Ro16 Zerg with today's result? (Nocturne's note: GGPlay had never gotten out of the Ro16 previous to this starleague, so he had the stigma of being "The Ro16 zerg")
▶그때도 기뻤지만 지금만큼은 아니다. 우승을 차지한 지금 순간이 10배는 더 기쁜 것 같다.
I was happy then, but not as much as now. Victory now feels ten times better than that moment.
-이번 시즌 얻은 소득이 있다면.
Have you gained anything from this season?
▶16강 저그라는 소리를 들을 때는 위축도 많이 됐지만 우승을 하고 나니 자신감도 생기고 앞으로 긴장도 덜 할 것 같다. 많은 도움이 될 것 같다.
When I heard that I was the Ro16 Zerg, I felt withdrawn, but now that I have won, I feel even more confident, and I feel I will be less uptight in future matches. It will be a great help.
-프로리그에서 팀 성적은 부진했다.
The team record in the Proleague is not so good.
▶내가 못했다. 전기리그에서 내가 부진해서 팀 성적이 좋지 않게 됐다. 프로리그에서 부진했으니 개인리그라도 잘하자는 생각도 있었다.
I did not do well. Because I did not do well in the previous league(?), my team record is not good either. Since we did not do well in the proleague, I felt that I had to do well in the individual league.
-오늘 저녁 가장 하고 싶은 일이 있다면.
What is the thing you most want to do tonight?
▶푹 쉬고 싶다. 샤워하고 누워서 푹 쉬고 싶다.
I want to rest. Take a shower, lie down, and just rest.
-여자친구에게 하고 싶은 말이나 듣고 싶은 말이 있다면.
Do you want to say or hear anything to/from your girlfriend?
▶별다르게 떠오르는 말은 없다. 목소리만 들어도 좋을 것 같다.
Not really - just to hear her voice would be good.
-상금은 어떻게 사용할 계획인가.
How will you use the prize money?
▶우선은 자기 경기처럼 도와준 팀원들에게 크게 한 턱 쏘고 싶다. 친구들한테도 한 턱 쏘고 아버지께 선물도 사 드리고 싶다. 나머지 돈은 적금에 넣을 것 같다.
First and foremost, I want to buy a hefty meal for the teammates who helped me out like it was their own match. To my friends, another meal. I want to buy a present for my father. The remainder, I will put into my savings.
-김태형 해설이 본인의 승리를 예상했다. '김태형의 저주'를 의식하지는 않았나.
Kim Tae Hyung caster predicted your victory. What were your thoughts on 'The curse of Kim Tae Hyung'?
▶경기 시작 전 인터뷰에서 그 저주를 깨겠다고 말하고 싶었다. 긴장해서 말은 못했지만 징크스 자체를 크게 신경 쓰지는 않았다.
At the pre-match interview, I wanted to say that I would break that curse. I was nervous so I didn't get to say it, but I didn't pay much attention to this jinx.
-앞으로의 목표가 있다면.
What are your future goals?
▶지금부터 시작인 것 같다. 우승을 했으니 주목도 많이 받을 것이고 지켜보는 사람도 많아질 것이다. 앞으로 더 좋은 성적 거둬서 더 많은 사람들에게 나를 알리고 싶다. 우승자는 16강에서 거의 탈락했던 것 같다. 이유는 잘 모르겠지만 우승했다고 해서 나태해지지 않고 더 열심히 해서 그 징크스도 깨고 다시 한 번 저 무대, 결승 무대에 서고 싶다.
Now is the start. Now that I've won, there will be much attention on me, and many people will see how I do. I would like to let my name be known amongst more people with better scores. It seems to me that the winner almost never got out of the Ro16.(?) I don't know the reason too well, but just because I won does not mean I will be lazy, but I will work harder, to break the jinx and to show the world once more that I can stand on that stage, the final stage.
-팬들에게 하고 싶은 말은.
Any word to your fans?
▶앞으로도 좋은 성적으로 팬들에게 보답하겠다. 팬들의 기대에 항상 부응하는 프로게이머 김준영이 되도록 하겠다.
I will show better scores/games to my fans as a thank you. I will strive to be the progamer who always is encouraged/supported by his fans, Kim Joon Young.
